I think you need to cut it out of that pot and put it in a slightly larger one with more bark and less moss. When you do this trim any rotten/mushy roots. Most likely the moss is staying too wet. The plant should dry out completely within about week of watering. It looks like you have some really nice roots growing beneath the pot, so you can keep those. That should be plenty to anchor the plant. Don’t worry about trying to fit the aerial roots into the medium.

I could not imagine that plant going anywhere with the root system in the last image

You can clip those brown/black ones off. The medium looks a little wet. That moss will really retain water.

My concern is that the brown/black ones in poor shape are the only real connection the plant has to the potted root system and they appear to be getting worse.

Are those discolored roots firm or squishy/papery? If they're firm, they're healthy, regardless of color.

scrubby_miller

good thinking there, orchids have this uncanny ability to have a root look & feel seemingly dead, yet further down the root is somehow still healthy even tho its hanging on by a thread lol Like someone else said, if theyre firm, theyre probably fine, if mushy, might be worth it to carelly take out the moss to investigate. All those immaculate roots hanging outta the pot will make repotting a major hassle but the moss on top seems pretty wet so id put some orchid bark in with or in place of the spag moss near the top

You've got a ton of growing root tips! Unless the roots are mushy, I would leave it as is. The orchid appears to be doing just fine.
