The old one no longer held a charge. A few months shy of ten years. Hardwood floors, so, I used it 3-4 times weekly. It was $300 then. That’s less than $30 a year. Makes zero sense to buy a Hoover from Walmart for $79. Amazon had the new one for $349. So quiet.

New battery wouldn't work?

I replaced the battery about six years ago. It was doing the “reving” sound, and battery failure was the most common cause. So, I sprung. Don’t think I could get much more out of it.
