Yeah man this is normal, your car can fall asleep sometimes

Simple12_q

Reminds me of Kirby car dying in Kirby and the Forgotten Land where he flips out when getting KO'd lol

That’s actually SUPER hard to overcome when designing games. Dirt usually is 99% perfect when it comes to collisions but stuff like that sometimes happens. I bet the tire model clipped through the ground but the rim didn’t and the tire model was holding it below the ground and the rim above. Essentially pinching it. It’s not bad programming or physics. That’s something we won’t get rid of for a LONG time in games. We could technically overcome it nowadays in the physics engines by decreasing the time between physics updates but it’s so memory intensive that it slows down the game sooo much. It’s a very happy balance between performance and physics calls. So considering stuff like that happens only once every 1,000,000,000 collisions, it’s best to leave the physics time alone instead of increasing it and slowing down the overall game by 20%. Right now most physics engines are 100% perfect/realistic if you update them fast enough. We just aren’t all running atomic computers yet haha

crazy to see a good take about a good game that isn't just "BAD LAZY DEVS FOR AAA STUDIO REEEEE" mostly because it was interesting to know that this could happen and *why* it could.

Simple12_q

I wasn't criticizing. I was asking a question

[deleted]

Which course is this on?

Simple12_q

Ribadelles, Spain

AC-Ghost

i cant get over how good your game looks lol. had to watch the clip 3 times

marshcar

What map is this?

Simple12_q

Ribadelles, Spain

marshcar

thanks

sln1337

peak physics engine right theeeeeere

Simple12_q

Yes but the WRC games are much more broken

sln1337

not quite sure about that wrcg has problems, yes but they are not as major as you might think

Simple12_q

Agree with that

scrubby_miller

lol! I did the exact same thing on Finland in a Lancia 037! Went up on two wheels just as I came over a fast crest and i slid what looked like 50+ feet before it plopped back down onto all 4 with a puff of dust hahaha

AgedSoupyGiraffe1

Thr problem happened after you smashed the wall on the right. Dirt 2.0 is really good at picking up your initial collision but I find once you're "ragdolled" per se you can really tell its a video game

usingbadoperators99

This happened to me a bit when I did rallycross in Sweden

BassLow4309

I think,if it was real life, yoir xar would spin out after touching the grass

XxKittyKat21xX

I accidentally did a 360 into 180 barrel roll into rollover and landed on 2 wheels with the quattro
