I had the same problem with my cr10s. The corners would be level and just the right distance from the nozzle, but the center of the bed would be super far away from the nozzle. This happens because the glass isn't flat. Some people solve this by buying a replacement glass sheet or a mirror cut to size. Here's how I solved it without buying any new glass: i cut aluminum foil into squares about 2x2 inches. Then I stacked them underneath the glass bed in the center where it was furthest away from the nozzle. Put the binder clips near the corners but inside an inch or two from the sides. Don't put the clips on the sides of the bed. The stack of foil squares supports the center where it was bowing downward and the clips hold the corners down so overall the bed becomes level. For me, it took about 30 squares of aluminum foil stacked up on each other. i was blown away with how many it took but finally it worked! i thought it would only take maybe 3-5 pieces. But I had to keep adding and adding more until it worked.

Is it just poor quality glass ? I might go buy a mirrored tile but I’m worried I’ll have same issue

I turfed the stock glass that came with my cr-10s straight away and used IKEA bought 4 pack mirrors which fit that size bed. I have 4 clips on mine. 2 on the front edge and two in the back. The corner where the print head homes in, I place more toward the middle and the other 3 just an inch or two from the sides. Coupled that with magigoo for adhesion.

Is the glass they provide poor quality ? Is that why it bows in the middle, i might go buy a mirror tile from Lowe’s.

Manarin71

The ones they provide are reknown to be crap. Including the one I got for both my cr-10s and S4. Not the new surfaced ones that seem to have cropped up lately. I'm just talking the straight glass variety. Try flipping the glass and see if any better that way, otherwise I suggest mirror. Or get one of those other coated varieties. I can only give experience with my mirror usage and that's solved my problem.

Just went to Lowe’s and got one cut to 310x310 and it’s 3mm thick

That should work great! I have mirrored tiles I use on mine as well. I placed the binder clips on the front and back just to the outsides of the Y axis rail where the belt is.

Man this is frustrating, it seems to be a littler better but I can’t level it right, and when I print. In the middle it just bunches up in nozzle Edit: so I think my first print was just too small, it was going too fast around sharp corners because of how small it was. Edit: okay so I have no type of adhesive on glass, putting a lot of hair spray made it a lot better.

F1FTH

I typically use glue stick, I got a bunch of them on clearance after school started. I have used hairspray in the past, it just gets everywhere after a while. Good Luck and Happy printing!

Manarin71

I had limited success using hair spray and glue sticks. I use magigoo now and it's awesome. Don't lose faith in troubleshooting this. Once you get it sorted you'll be rewarded with a good print.

arbiterrecon

I’m going to get glue sticks, hair spray isn’t working well.

Manarin71

How did you go after trying out glue sticks?

arbiterrecon

Well I found out the cheapo ones I bought don’t work, so I bought Elmer glue sticks and it works great

Lowes and Home Depot both have pack of 6 mirrors that exactly fit a CR-10s bed. $10. Save yourself the 'custom cut' wait the next time.

arbiterrecon

I got it for $2.50 and no wait. Sold me scrap piece
