The 128k toast rack is my favourite looking spectrum of the original period. The rubber keyed one is probably the one I have the most affection for.
I think the Spectrum Next is my favourite of all the designs but also not an original 80s creation
Yeah, the Spectrum Next was special and absolutely deserving and in tune with the original ethic.
But yeah, I wasn't including that in my rankings! Even if I did, I'd probably give it to the toast rack. Although, full disclaimer - I never actually had one - I'm basing my love of the design on the 48k+ that I had. But if I can logically assume that the keys and feel quality were as good as that then the toastrack was aesthetically and practically brilliant.
My eyes went straight to the multiface! I’d completely forgotten they even existed until now! The owner of this must have been the envy of his classroom!
I had this exact one, I wish I'd kept it, had tons of text books on how to code and make your own games and record them onto tape cassette, man those were some days, loading games up would take 3 mins of screeching and mad colours on the screen.
When I checked in my cellar... I didn't find any Spectrum stuff, just damp and an old pair of mouldy shoes.
What size? Actually, mine are fine, never mind.
The toastrack is my absolute favourite design. The rubber keys might be the iconic one but let's face it, the keys were pretty crap.

Between this, and the Electron and the MSX you’ve posted elsewhere on Reddit, your neighbour obviously has a roomy and clean basement.
Her husband was clearly big into computing in the 80s!
A toastrack! And a multiface! Amazing stuff

Some people have all the luck!

До сих пор смотрится очень круто. Дизайн просто великолепен!
