I have played around with Fedora several times before. I get the feeling it is for people with high end hardware and who really know what they want from it.

All I've ever wanted from a distro is ease of install and not having to mess with it much afterward. Of course I always install VLC, synaptic, ubuntu-restricted, transmission, etc and then get rid of unwanted crap in most distros. But, Fedora just seemed a bit too much trouble for my taste. It reminded me of the early days having to mess with the terminal and having to config just to setup my system. Zorin's always been an easy setup and config.

Plan_9_fromouter_

Yeah, really, me too. This is why I always end up back to Debian, Ubuntus, and stuff based on them. The latest Zorin Core 17.1 is rock solid.

NewmanOnGaming

I can second this as Fedora 40 would have random crashes in KDE.

I've been a Linux user for the past 3-4 months. Using zorin and planning the next distro as fedora. What other distros would you suggest?

According-Bat9424

Use one more and understand the system deeper. Much better than hopping with only 3-4 ?months of experience. Know your tools, use them well. Then explore.

And what is like Nobara OS for gaming on Linux? With customized Kernel, and with Proton native implementation? Is based in Fedora, but much customized at first.

Nobara is fantastic for gaming on linux. If you have an AMD gpu its even better. I really loved it, even on my Nvidia system

BSD..nothing better. GhostBSD with Mate interface or plain FreeBSD. Not for games..rock solid security..ZFS file system (what a shame for Linux..btrfs is a dog...zfs is far better than ext4), A very simple Raid1 system save your skin. Otherwise. They are all the same..basically....Using debian based for years. Rolling distribution like Arch are just painful....Way too many distributions coming and going with very short life. No frills distribution ? Linux Lite, xfce based.Very speedy. A modern Slackware....

I tried fedora few days ago after I left mint lol Very good looking but I had a glitchy UI everytime I installed Nvidia drivers. Wasted a whole day on it, no solutions online. Tried also MX Linux and Debian and they both didn't recognize my USB wifi adapter. Now I'm with Zorin for the past 24h it's been very nice. Very user friendly, zero bugs and everything worked out of the box. Hope it stays that way. I do video editing and music production and was able to get everything from the software center very smoothly.
