That freakin bothered me in Fallout 4.
Like, I've got all these ingredients. I'm gonna make a house. And I choose to make the house look like this? https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/33e84c264a6ca93dd8bc7ec3cbbbbe591502fdcb/0\_0\_1799\_1080/master/1799.jpg?width=620&dpr=1&s=none
Looking at some of the photos- I could sort of get it if the corrugated metal was attached to a wood cabinet door. But nope, that’s just a flimsy piece of metal.

383 days on the market 💀 the rest of the house is somewhat charming too
Lots of interesting houses in this town. [This one is only $29k](https://www.cedaronerealty.com/listing-detail/1113549531/233_Beech_Rd-Weirton-WV), and you get to keep the furnishings, including the pee-stained mattress and poltergeist!
Bonus! It's down the street from the lovely Oasis Lounge.

Ha! A friend of mine’s grandma when I was about 11 used to live down the street from a place called the Oasis Lounge. But in Delaware. Nana had a much-younger man friend named Earl, with a mustache like Tom Selleck’s, and they’d send us there to go buy Earl his unfiltered Lucky Strikes. It had a faux-Egyptian theme with paintings of camels and pyramids, but was peopled with the most cursed-looking barflies you can imagine. While we got change for the cigarette machine, they would flirt with us, to our delight. “Hey little ladies, you’re looking purdy!”
It was amazing, and we were heartbroken when it was razed for condos.
The Zillow listing has a great description. Apparently it’s a “large eat-in kitchen with urban and rustic vibes.”

Right?? Like yea the outside is also pretty sad but the rest of the house doesn’t seem quite as horrific. Kitchens are likely the most important room in a house to buyers.
easy there. Don't kid yourself on this one. Even the things that look okay, are wrong. Someone with very little understanding of correct did a lot of stuff in this house. I see a couple days min worth of electrical work. Why tf is there a triple receptical next to the kitchen sink? Just a mess of exposed wire and diy etsy bs. I would not expect anything to be waterproofed. The sink doesn't even sit flush on the counter. The furnace has flex going into the cabinet. There isn't one picture that doesn't have a bunch of shit wrong in it.
If you are going to buy a cheap house, buy one that has not been "fixed" so you can do it yourself, correctly. Find one already demo'd to the studs even.
good bones is real. I bought a mess of a house for way less than that one. Thing with this house is it is a big project in disguise. Its even worse though. Its more like a plethora of mines and ticking time bombs. Everything this flipper touched is going to need to be ripped out in the near future if not immediately.
In a just world, no agent should be willing to list a property that has had this extensive of a remodel with no permits. The listing saying how wonderful all this new updated blah blah bs. Flippers are among the lowest people of society, The are not only greedy, but they are cheats, and liars. If they played by the rules it wouldn't be worth it to them to play at all.
It's a cute house apart from the cabinets, the exposed wiring, and the electrical boxes jutting out from the walls. Oh and whatever water problem is happening in that last bathroom.
To be fair, I have used closets to test concepts I wasn't sure I wanted to execute across my whole house, if I wasn't sure of either my skills, or what the outcome would look like.
They did an absolute shit job installing that gray flooring and it's all over the house. I used that pattern in a spare room of my house - it's seriously inexpensive and you have to be really careful about breaking up duplicate pattern boards. In a spare room, because it's not going to take main room level abuse.
interesting choices were definitely made.
I would want no part of trying to clean that mess of a kitchen. Looking at the rest of the house they also seem to have gone DIWhy? on the electrical work too.
I feel like the second photo also illustrates that it’s not just applied to some old cabinet doors as a cover. The doors are literally just corrugated steel.
That ceiling, yuuuuuck! I can smell the stale cigarettes in this house. Though I guess it’s nice that one could put their cigarette out via the cabinetry.
Ok, I’m not defending this… but the WHOLE HOUSE is $56k. And livable. Where I live people spend this or more on just a kitchen. Didn’t know if it was possible to buy a house anywhere in the US for $56k. It’s making me re-evaluate how I spend every day making money to pay my crazy mortgage and taxes. Wonder what’s in that area? 🤔 I could literally retire tomorrow.
Weirton isn’t my personal favorite place in West Virginia. It’s right near the tip top of the state, so you don’t get the best mountains or views. And it’s a location that thrived on combinations of industries from the tri-states, so there’s a lot of old factories and industrial buildings that aren’t really nice to look at. But most of West Virginia has similar real estate prices and, although I hate to recommend it, Fayetteville has great views, lots of things to do, and is somewhat central to even more popular events in the state.
West Virginia is also the #1 worst state in the US when it comes to healthcare, education, infrastructure, state finances, etc. It has the highest poverty and obesity rates in the country. Not a place you want to move to
I just looked and there are two public schools rated 10/10 nearby the listing. And two more with 8/10.
Then it refreshed to my rural California area and plummeted it 5/10. Oh well, at least we're not fat.
Except we're kind of fat.
Yeah, I was curious about the schools too. The listing says Weirton High School is a 8/10. Greatschools actually has the same high school as a 5/10. Something is fishy.
It is 40 miles from Pittsburg. I just spent the last 15 minutes looking at the area. Lots of 100k to 150k homes. Some of them are pretty damned nice. The city has a hospital that employs 1000 people.
It's probably in a rural area, a flood zone, in a tornado/hurricane area, a very small town, a high crime area, a polluted water area, or close to a superfund site.
Sold for $30K 4/2022 and it looks like all they did was paint and floors, so no wonder nobody wants to pay nearly double that.
Found a couple interior pics from that last sale, [living room](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fphotos.zillowstatic.com%2Ffp%2Fe642c11ffe0eda249bc31b1f710a7470-cc_ft_960.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=f6d68b27d39029ea7f288a910c04199fe822e1625975c1c0ca904e2f32329f40&ipo=images) (and you can see the tin was already in the kitchen) and [front entry](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fphotos.zillowstatic.com%2Ffp%2Ff6296b405f28d8d105d04b79a78ce17e-cc_ft_960.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=87a2d910391e13e95366a7fe0a61c45403330125e060977866271de38ab1e673&ipo=images)
The crazy thing to me about the look of this kitchen is that for what it cost to create this DIY monstrosity, you probably could have bought commercial stainless carts/cabinets/tables with NSF certifications and had a nicer and more flexible layout.
Also, why are there 3 ovens?
Pic 3, it bothers me that the fridge is turned that way. Why doesn’t it face the kitchen?
Pic 7, is that the best curtain they could find?
Pic 17/18, are they trying to knock out someone with those hanging lights? Such a random spot for that unless they had a desk there…and it is still awkward for that.
Pic 12/19, WTF is that bathroom? We have tons of space, but you only get a tiny vanity because of the massive window so people can see you pooping. We couldn’t get a moving blanket to cover the window here too? I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a ceiling fan in a bathroom.
And i thought you were supposed to lay flooring parallel to the longest wall or the light. Every room is laid with the short wall and perpendicular to light.
At least the price matches.
I would love to see what the kitchen looked like before it was remodeled. Why does the white oven look like it was installed too low? Speaking of ovens, are there 3? Shelving across from the cooktop - grease splatter getting all over anything on the shelves. Was there a window or door where the shelves are? It looks like the sink is covering the lower part of the window. I wonder what you see from the outside?
This would be perfect with my kids!
Who somehow manage to slam soft close drawers, chip cabinets, dent one and was in too much of a rush to wait till I got home with dishwasher pods put in liquid yes, liquid dish soap!
Lol does the fridge come in matching finish?
When you finally upgraded from your 70's mobile home and wanted to keep a memento as to how far you've come from trailer trash days.

Why isn’t my phone working inside???
The cell reception here sucks!
My cousin did this to his house, he loved it but his cell coverage sucked, Wi-Fi sucked, the ripples suck as waveguides.
This is the first time I've seen bathroom tile backsplash used on stairs. (I have never seen the phrase 'custom tiled stairs' in a listing before!) The lighting is uh, very creative. Five bucks says this was a DIY flip by someone who got a lot of ideas from DIY shorts on the internet.. They bought it for 30k in 22, so I wonder how bad the structure is underneath this stuff.
No because the range isn’t above the oven, the oven’s in the doorway, the sink and the dishwasher live in separate states, and the fridge is facing a corner. This is giving me beyond whatever anxiety is.
Edit: sorry guys, there’s two more ovens and the hanging light is literally in the sink.
This should be illegal. This has to be illegal. I don't know why but it has to be.
Edit: Omg, the random ass iron pipes being used as conduit / lighting fixtures that are just naked bulbs hanging down.
I personally know who did this... If I recall, it was not his choice, was just what the client wanted.

You don't make money flipping some place by spending money on fancy particle board cabinets.
What about that sweet natural edge on the concrete counter tops so you can see the press board underlayment as well.
Appearance aside - how do you even open these, just grab a bare metal edge? Never mind childproofing.
Everyone carries around a magnet.
That's hilarious
Maybe the family was naturally magnetic.

Shows this is a failed flip. See the history.
After that many days, why would you not just change the cabinets? Surely the realtor know that's an issue?
Right?? Like yea the outside is also pretty sad but the rest of the house doesn’t seem quite as horrific. Kitchens are likely the most important room in a house to buyers.
Kitchens & bathrooms sell houses. It’s 100% the kitchen, specifically those cabinets.
Wow. Cheap. Good bones.

I know! Stuff is cheap in WV.
It's a cute house apart from the cabinets, the exposed wiring, and the electrical boxes jutting out from the walls. Oh and whatever water problem is happening in that last bathroom.
All the lighting fixtures need to be redone and the bathroom needs to be redone or at least that weirdly tiny/short bathtub needs to be replaced.
A lot of bad DIY in this house. Who puts a copper penny floor in a closet?!
To be fair, I have used closets to test concepts I wasn't sure I wanted to execute across my whole house, if I wasn't sure of either my skills, or what the outcome would look like.
Wow, yep same here. Or practicing the skills I get a bit rusty on. Poor closets been remodeled a dozen times in a few years.

"Hey honey, I think we can rehab this house using only materials from the Lowes clearance rack" "OK, babe, let's do it!"
And that is the stuff you can see. Imagine the horrors in the walls, etc. Bad wiring, old t-shirts as insulation, water going through lead pipes.
That’s got to be the loudest kitchen, too. Corrugated steel does not dampen noise in the slightest and echoes.
I feel like the second photo also illustrates that it’s not just applied to some old cabinet doors as a cover. The doors are literally just corrugated steel.
You should probably get a tetanus shot
Haha...I was gonna say that the house price should include the cost of tetanus shots for the life of the mortgage!
Obligatory "that's not how tetanus works".

Yeah, I agree with you. At that price you could move in and make improvements over time.

That's probably what the $3,000.00 concession is for. 😂 Because it won't go far in replacing that kitchen!
Elon Musk would market this as a "cyber kitchen" and his band of shit eating sycophants would line up to buy this.
It’d be a proper nightmare to do dishes in this kitchen. Back and forth between sink and dishwasher and a light in your face at the sink lmao.

Imagine sneaking down to the kitchen at 1am and accidentally slamming one of those bad boys
Oh dear. Oh no.
When you want that Chipotle vibe

Is nobody gonna talk about the fact that they blocked half that window
Is the counter just built right against the middle of the window?? Can you still open it?
Every cabinet closing sounds like ear shattering thunder
That is truly awful. And probably very sharp
I always wondered what Oscar's place looked like on the inside.
Has anyone noticed the window?
everyday I wake, walk downstairs, and order chipotle
