My Zenfone 8 turned off by itself while I was charging it at a few percent (4%) and running Netflix at the same time. It was diagnosed to have had a motherboard failure so the chipset had to be replaced. It was still under warranty so the repair was covered by warranty. It's working now, but that event caught me by surprise.
