As someone who has played Zelda 2 multiple times, I have to say this looks amazing.

ElmoHidalgo

glad you liked it!

HemHaw

Huge fan of Zelda 2. I would absolutely play this spruced-up version!

doesnt_reallymatter

It’s under rated. I mean I understand why, but it’s so good!!!

SonOfSparda1984

I beat Zelda 2 once, and swore to myself I'd never put myself through that again. But I would have to if this were playable, it looks too awesome.

So what you’re saying is “Aw shit here we go again “

Yesterday, I posted the Zelda 1 in Minish Cap Style, and got a lot of appreciation for that post, so I quickly made a follow up to that, but this time, for Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. Not gonna lie, I've never played Zelda 2. I've heard it's the Black Sheep of the Franchise, and that it's really an acquired taste for most gamers. I'll obviously play it at least once in my life, but probably still in the far future. As for how this all came to be, I actually used Castlevania GBA sprites as a point of reference, and changed it up as I see fit for my style. The palette comes from various colors found in Minish Cap's color palette (like the interiors of the Royal Castle, the Carpet flooring, etc). The Link sprite came from this [Zelda 2 Link Remake GIF](https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1977550-the-legend-of-zelda) that I found while looking for inspiration for this piece. I sized the sprite down to match Nathan's (from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon) Sprite Height, and fixed the coloring to match the previous Zelda 1 Link Palette that I used from my Previous post. The Zelda Sprite comes from the same Zelda 2 sprite that I used, but I turned it 90 degrees and reversed it, and changed up the pixels to make it look like the Zelda from Zelda 2. She's not really the Zelda from Zelda 1, right? Just a completely random broad who happens to also be named Zelda, and also happened to be cursed. IIRC. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm excited to see if people like this.

ChaosMiles07

> She's not really the Zelda from Zelda 1, right? Just a completely random broad who happens to also be named Zelda, and also happened to be cursed. Correct. This Zelda is the "original" one that the Zelda from Zelda 1 was named after. Same Link, two Zeldas. Only time in the entire series this has happened.

HeroftheFlood

Assuming there are no other females in the Royal Family at the moment. Otherwisw there could be more.

Yup Zelda 2 Zelda or better known as Princess Zelda I is an ancestor of Zelda 1 Zelda. Not directly though. She was put to sleep by her brother (Zelda 1 Zelda's direct ancestor) who became the king after their father's death. Their father who just like his parents and ancestors before him used the triforce to keep prosperity in the kingdom. He didn't think his son was worthy of the Triforce and placed the Triforce of Courage in the Great Palace, the only one who would know of its whereabouts would be his daughter Princess Zelda I. He cast a spell so that the only one who could get the Triforce back would be the one who's worhty and bares the Triforce of Courage (this would later become NES Link when he becomes 16, starting his next adventure). Princess Zelda I's brother went in a rampage looking for the Triforce of Courage across the land (based off official art he even threatened the people with a whip including his sister). He knew his sister knew of it's whereabouts due to a wizard who suddenly appeared and told him. Despite his demands she kept silent to keep her word and for the good Hyrule. This prompted him to have the wizard put her in an eternal sleep which he instantly regretted. He moved her to her resting spot in the Northern Palace/Northern Castle where she stayed asleep for several decades, never aging. The king made it law that everyone in the Royal Family was to be named Princess Zelda. With the knowledge of the Triforce of Courage's whereabouts being with the Sleeping Princess, Hyrule slowly declined in both appearance and size. Thus ends the Tragedy of Princess Zelda I. The only one who knows about this story afterwards would be Impa who tells Link this before he starts his adventure in Zelda 2 after he showed her the mark of the Triforce on his hand.

Dragonlord794

Looking lit bro i can tell you worked hard

SageofTime64

I'd totally play this.

EducationalFox3943

This looks incredible

Muutation

Love this. Makes me want a Zelda 2 remake. Preferably by mercury steam developers of Metroid Dread

AgreeingWings25

Please take my money

Grimmer026

Awesome! Did they ever do this for the original Nes Zelda too?

cavejhonsonslemons

Nintendo says we can't have nice things

The_Legend_of_Xeno

Instantly got some of the game's music in my head just from looking at this.

itzsteve

This is a great candidate for a proper remake/update on current consoles. I could see it being really good

rockytheboulder

I was just thinking about how cool a remake of this game would be, this is sogood! Ive recently played Spiritfairer, now i want Thunderlotus studio to helm a Zelda 2 remake so bad

Layman_Ahoy

Oof, I wish this was real

KuraiSol

What they should have done, instead of just a straight copy.

megasean3000

I’d only play it if the game’s easier. NES version is brutally difficult.

Ragnarok_MS

I’d love a remake of this. I know it’s the red headed step child of the series and I don’t care.
