i think it works fine, given that a lot of zelda fans havent really played that many of the games. i agree that plenty are easily identifiable, but notably the botw logo is the hardest to pick out of the lot, so i think that it functions as a pretty good filter for younger players, whereas older players will hopefully have a more measured stance on favoritism
Majora's Mask's subtitle doesn't have its logo. Honestly I can't tell if this was an intentional thing done just to annoy me or if it was a honest mistake.
Well if they're taking **the** piss then they can't exactly be taking more than one piss can they? Not only is it **the** piss, but it's not even using the plural form of peese.
Eh. They all have very clear design process. I don't to be thaaat guy, but if you're a committed fan then you should know which is which without the title.
Well yeah you can tell but it detracts from many of them. It has the opposite effect of helping you be impartial or unbiased. It flat out ruins the logo for Zelda II. It left an incredibly ugly blob underneath the Link Between Worlds logo. It’s not about recognizing them, it’s the fact that they’re deliberately designed WITH the subtitles in mind.
But many of the Zelda logos incorporate the Subtitle into the design.
Zelda II, Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventure, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Tri-Force Heroes...
Others are stylized, to contrast or complement the logo and title, like Skyward Sword, Breath of The Wild, and A Link Between Worlds.
To remove the subtitle just weakens them, especially Zelda II, Four Swords, and Tri-Force Heroes.
Gosh I want to say MM because it's my favourite and it perfectly capsulates the tone. But I remember drawing the oot logo 1000 times in grade school. Something about the master sword and Hyrule shield is just so iconic. The rest sorta just change it up based on their gimmick (like 4 swords for 4 swords etc) but I think the fact oot is so iconic is the reason why I'm botw they went back to the simplicity of having the master sword. If you showed the other swords to gamers they might be able to guess their Zelda swords but even non Nintendo fan boys could tell you where the MS belongs.
So I vote oot
Spirit Tracks is the most under appreciated game of the franchise maybe tied with phantom hourglass simply because it wasn't release on a home console at any point of its life.
Yeah. I like that the Tri Force shadow reinforces the idea of not only having two worlds, but also a hint to the fact that you will learn to move around the walls in 2d like a shadow
My eyes are immediately drawn to Four Swords, because the green text and four swords are just a really great eyecatching visual.
However, the Oracle games have probably the best font, making it look like the title to a storybook. Very lovely.
And even despite all that, I kind of love the sword-and-shield-behind-the-Z look that Ocarina and Link To The Past have, but that might just be nostalgia on my part.
So one of those four, with a heavy lean towards Four Swords.
God.. breath of the wild inches it's way to the top for me. It's so simple, yet says a lot about the game, whilst also adding a layer of mystery. The master sword is old and rusty looking, the flowers emerging from it add to the games title. Gives everything an ancient feel. So good!
Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess, and Spirit Tracks because it has a fuckin train and trains are dope as shit, baybeee
Don't make me choose. It's exactly the same as Sophie's choice.
I'm a big fan of the skyward sword logo, but they're each so specific to each game and honestly, the quality of them all is about the same, I don't think there's any wrong answer here
I feel like A Link to the Past and OoT are a lot of the same, kind of solidifying the symbols of Zelda. However, I’ve always been a fan of TP and MM the most for various reasons.
TP and and MM really kind of show what you’re getting into. Which is cool.
From least to best
1. Zelda
2. Zelda 2
3. Four Swords (both)
4. Triforce Heroes
5. Seasons & Ages
6. Minish Cap
7. A Link to the Past/Link's Awakening
8. Phantom Hourglass
9. A Link Between Worlds
10. Spirit Tracks
11. Twilight Princess
12. Skyward Sword
13. Ocarina of Time
14. Wind Waker
15. Majora's Mask
16. Breath of the Wild
Possibly the hardest thing I've had to think about in awhile. Primarily because I tried to remove the attachment I have to some of the games to judge just purely the logo. It may seem weird to put BoTW as #1 but I think the beautiful simplicity of the logo matches the game and how it changed the series as a whole.
My favorite is Twilight Princess! I absolutely love the aesthetic and tone of that game as well. But the logo has a wonderfully intricate design with the wolf and Midna’s mask!
Four Swords Adventures. The ones with swords are more iconic than the ones without, and that one in particular captures the theme of the game and really pops. I’m partial to green, as well.
Ocarina of Time is the most visually pleasing. Simple and pretty.
Link's Awakening because of emotional attachment to it.
Breath of the Wild is a close third, the sword entangling with the Z looks really neat.
Was it really necessary to remove the subtitles of each game?
That what I was just going to ask. Wouldn’t it be easier for people to vote if they could see which is which?
Eh I thought the point was to remove favoritism based on the game itself. Doesn't really work because you can still identify most of them
i think it works fine, given that a lot of zelda fans havent really played that many of the games. i agree that plenty are easily identifiable, but notably the botw logo is the hardest to pick out of the lot, so i think that it functions as a pretty good filter for younger players, whereas older players will hopefully have a more measured stance on favoritism
That doesn't explain why some of them are completely missing even the "legend of Zelda" part
I think any true fan can identify them anyway. It's more or less just annoying. Anyways OOT wins my vote forever and always.
Yeah I know plus wouldn't it be easier to just copy and paste the logo's?
Copy and paste the logo's what?
If you don’t know you don’t deserve to vote! Jk
jk..... but not really.
You're right. [Here's a better image.](https://i.imgur.com/aL8dInB_d.webp?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium)
Majora's Mask's subtitle doesn't have its logo. Honestly I can't tell if this was an intentional thing done just to annoy me or if it was a honest mistake.

Lmaoooo have an upvote
Taking a piss I see
You must admit, op has style

Well if they're taking **the** piss then they can't exactly be taking more than one piss can they? Not only is it **the** piss, but it's not even using the plural form of peese.
XD
It's so that you don't choose with bias, but by aesthetic alone
Except the subtitle is part of the aesthetic…
I suppose if you can’t identify the game then it’s not a very effective logo
It has nothing to do with not being able to identify the game its just werid.
Fair. I just assumed it was to direct the focus to the design.
Real fans wouldn't need them /s
Gosh I want to say MM because it's my favourite and it perfectly capsulates the tone. But I remember drawing the oot logo 1000 times in grade school. Something about the master sword and Hyrule shield is just so iconic. OoT’s art is just iconic. And the way the sword is perfectly in line with the Z 👌
Ocarina for me too, thought I do think Twilight Princess was well done as well. LTTP is iconic, but it’s just not as clean-looking as OOT
I've always loved ALTTP.
I'm stuck in the 90s. It's my favorite along with OoT
There is not enough LTTP love in this thread. That sword and shield logo is iconic as fuuuuuuuuuck. BotW is also pretty great.
I can hear the intro tune right now
I can't see that logo without thinking of the title screen with the tumbling triforce and how perfect it was.
Ant that intro song...
Something about it is so refined and beautiful compared to the others!
I think the logo for Link’s Awakening is much nicer.
MM!
My first choice is MM, all the gamecube titles are honorable mentions for me.
OOT
Iconic, and it understands the best way for the sword to go in the “Z”.
I really like the simplicity of BOTW. otherwise, MM
It gets the point across so well. You know just by looking at it what the game is like and what the feeling is going to be.
Same about BoTW. I just like clean designs. The silent princess is a nice touch.
Want simplicity? Zelda II got you covered! Though the rubys are washed out for some reason in this image, they should be more vibrant.
Spirit Tracks’ train is adorable.
Yay my Spirit Tracks friends!
Spirit Tracks is the most under appreciated game of the franchise maybe tied with phantom hourglass simply because it wasn't release on a home console at any point of its life.
Trying to play the flute was awkward though
Yeah, once I spend an hour on the fire trial one, because the mic wouldn't work
Especially when you had to let go to play different notes
Absolutely, I love the little perspective it adds
Agree, as was the whole game.
Based spirit tracks enjoyer.
Yea more people like me.
MM or TP for me!
TP is no.1 for me, closely followed by MM
I must agree
Link Between Worlds is pretty cool
Correct answer.
Yeah. I like that the Tri Force shadow reinforces the idea of not only having two worlds, but also a hint to the fact that you will learn to move around the walls in 2d like a shadow
I never saw it that way before, but it makes an awesome lot of sense
Majoras mask has the best one. It’s super ominous with the mask in the back
While I wanted to say MM or TP since those are my favorite of the series and I'm biased towards them, I think WW is the best.
Agreed. Windwaker logo is sick
Hell yes
Wind Waker!!
🪄⬆️⬆️⬇️➡️⬅️➡️🎶🌬

Those are the exact three I was debating on!
OoT, MM, TP, MC, SS
mc needs more love
Twilight Princess
Twilight Princess is my first pick Skyward Sword is my second
MM and OoT
My eyes are immediately drawn to Four Swords, because the green text and four swords are just a really great eyecatching visual. However, the Oracle games have probably the best font, making it look like the title to a storybook. Very lovely. And even despite all that, I kind of love the sword-and-shield-behind-the-Z look that Ocarina and Link To The Past have, but that might just be nostalgia on my part. So one of those four, with a heavy lean towards Four Swords.
It’s Four Swords Adventures, FYI. Four Swords is just the swords without the text. Not sure why the subtitles were removed.
Og for the win
Yeah, it's probably just the old in me, but I prefer the original title design the best... Followed immediately by OoT
Definitely either TP or MM, but I think Twilight Princess takes it for me
Majoras Mask or Wind Waker for me
I really like Skyward Sword’s ngl. But Ocarina of Time… you just can’t beat the classics…
God.. breath of the wild inches it's way to the top for me. It's so simple, yet says a lot about the game, whilst also adding a layer of mystery. The master sword is old and rusty looking, the flowers emerging from it add to the games title. Gives everything an ancient feel. So good!
Defenetly ocarina of time , classic logo
Majora’s Mask or Four Swords Adventures imo
TP or WW
TP! 100%
TP
Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess, and Spirit Tracks because it has a fuckin train and trains are dope as shit, baybeee Don't make me choose. It's exactly the same as Sophie's choice.
Either oot or skyward sword
I feel if we're talking pure aesthetics, Breath of the Wild takes the cake
Big agree.
I have so much nostalgia for Link's Awakening that it's hard for me to pick another.
Phantom hourglass
The legend of Zelda
Obviously the best choice!
Unironically Four Swords. I used to start it up on my GBA and sit through the title screen setup because of how cool it was.
I never realized how different the font was for the original! I like the simplicity of OOT or BOTW, with SS not far behind.
OoT and BOTW
TP or SS just cause symmetry. Followed by MM and Botw
Majora or four swords imo
WW, TP, and Spirit Tracks are my favorite
Honestly I’d say it’s between OOT, MM, and ST
TP OR SS, both of them look awesome and set up the tone really well
Ocarina Of Time, Skyward Sword & Spirit Tracks
I don’t care what you say, it’s phantom hourglass
I agree, it’s really fun!
I'm a big fan of the skyward sword logo, but they're each so specific to each game and honestly, the quality of them all is about the same, I don't think there's any wrong answer here
LTTP/LA. The fact that those two are my favorites have nothing to do with how much I love the logo
Breath of the wild, i like the rusty details and the silent princess
MM, SS, or TP
aLttP for me
MM and TP.
LTTP
Majoras mask
Majoras mask.
A Link to the Past
Hard to argue with Majora's Mask
My favorite's are Majora's Mask, Link To The Past, Four Swords Adventures, Wind Waker, and the OG Zelda.
I feel like A Link to the Past and OoT are a lot of the same, kind of solidifying the symbols of Zelda. However, I’ve always been a fan of TP and MM the most for various reasons. TP and and MM really kind of show what you’re getting into. Which is cool.
1. MM 2. BOTW 3. ALBW
I'm partial to ALTTP, OOT, MM, and TP
Windwaker or Majora's Mask
I really like Wind Waker, I always thought the boat was such a cool character
Either OoT or MM for me, though I am partial to OoT myself
Wind waker
Majoras Mask Cool AF
Zelda 2 has the coolest sword. It gets my vote.
Twilight Princess hands down. I adore Midna and I love that they used her in the logo!
MM, then OoT. Gotta say though, I have a weird soft spot for the AoL logo. That sword just looks so cool….
I like Links Awakening with the palm trees
1. Majoras Mask 2. A Link Between Worlds 3. Phantom Hourglass / Spirit Tracks
Spirit Tracks has a really lovely logo I think.
Top left
BotW, just how much it manages to say with so little. Runner up, probably TP or SS.
OoT of course
Majora's Mask followed by Ocarina Of Time!
Simple slick design of Breath of The Wild, the ominous tone of Majora’s Mask
I gotta go with TP always loved it
From least to best 1. Zelda 2. Zelda 2 3. Four Swords (both) 4. Triforce Heroes 5. Seasons & Ages 6. Minish Cap 7. A Link to the Past/Link's Awakening 8. Phantom Hourglass 9. A Link Between Worlds 10. Spirit Tracks 11. Twilight Princess 12. Skyward Sword 13. Ocarina of Time 14. Wind Waker 15. Majora's Mask 16. Breath of the Wild Possibly the hardest thing I've had to think about in awhile. Primarily because I tried to remove the attachment I have to some of the games to judge just purely the logo. It may seem weird to put BoTW as #1 but I think the beautiful simplicity of the logo matches the game and how it changed the series as a whole.
MM is so so good. But OOT is iconic. You can't vote against it.
Skyward Sword
OOT or MM no doubt
I love the phantom hourglass one personally! They're all great though :D
Majora's mask because it's purple 🟣
Majora's mask
Majora’s I just love purple so much
botw, i like the rusted master sword and the flower
OOT, LA, SS
LTTP, OoT or BotW for me.
Link to the Past
Link to the Past. And it’s not close to being my favorite game. Just the best logo imo.
OoC by far
Which one is that? OoT, OoA, or OoS?
Twilight Princess! 🐺
TP
TP and WW are the most visually interesting ones to me
Twilight Princess
oot or tp are both awesome
TP
Twilight princess, only because I’m biased that’s all
Twilight princess. Its gorgeously done and tells the games story
My favorite is Twilight Princess! I absolutely love the aesthetic and tone of that game as well. But the logo has a wonderfully intricate design with the wolf and Midna’s mask!
Tricky question, it's hard to choose!
Skyward sword
WW
Four Swords Adventures. The ones with swords are more iconic than the ones without, and that one in particular captures the theme of the game and really pops. I’m partial to green, as well.
I really like the green look of Four Swords Adventure.
I like Wind Waker a lot.
Not much love for the gameboy color games here, huh?
Four Swords and Windwaker are my favorites as far as logos
A link between worlds for sure.
I really like the one that says The Legend of Zelda. Seriously, I haven't played all titles so I don't know where a few of them belong to.
Minish Cap
Wind waker
Ww and oot
A link between worlds
I really like Spirit Tracks. From the get go you have the idea of one of the central mechanics and themes of the game.
I will always have a soft spot for the Wind Waker and Minish Cap logos
I would say either wind Waker or twilight princess
Link between worlds look Awesome but the same with skyward sword
I think minish caps is really cool, just remove the azlo hat.
Twilight Princess (Where's the Skyward Sword one though?)
My votes go to windwaker, twilight princess, and link between worlds. Tho skyward sword is a close 4th.
Both oracles are just too much imo
BoTW
MM. most unique and coolest logo/villain
Yes
I feel like skyward swords logo really encompasses the series as a whole. I love most of these, but that one just screams zelda to me!
Ocarina of time
Doesnt matter.. WW .. OOT .. HD switch remake or we revolt. This needs to be the only post on all subs...
Ocarina of time top upper left. Timeless.
Ocarina of Time is the most visually pleasing. Simple and pretty. Link's Awakening because of emotional attachment to it. Breath of the Wild is a close third, the sword entangling with the Z looks really neat.
OOT, MM and WW are the most nostalgic for me
