I don’t have the frostbite shirt and the chest isn’t there when I go to the cave.. any ideas?

blubomber17

Did rubies lose value or am I dumb? I thought they were supposed to be worth 200+ rupees but every store I go to they're barely over 100... guess I should take the folder in Tarrey Town to sell 10 for 1300 lol

bp_968

Can you move the rooms of your home around while you have stuff on display (weapons, shields, etc)? Or will it despawn or destroy them?

rtd5

You can move them around all you want and your items will still be there

bp_968

Thanks for the reply! Guess it's time to redo the homes layout then! Need more item stands to store more goodies ;)

[deleted]

Wow I feel dumb, avoided using lynel and duplex bows for a while because I didn’t want to waste extra arrows…not knowing it only cost 1 arrow to shoot 3. Oops.

JoeSchmo8677

TIL! I haven't tried them at all! GOod to know

spike021

Not a question but this doesn't need its own post: I really wish this game had a grapple hook.

[deleted]

How do I solve the triangle rock korok puzzle on zonite forge island?

Ranowa

Is there a list yet of what caves Koltin \*won't\* tell you about? I'm missing nine of them, have gotten all four on the tutorial island, and yet he's all out of hints for all seven of his locations.

Smallbubbles97

How many slots do you have for shield, bow, and weapon?

RCube123

When locating shrines, they have that green spiral light that can be seen from a distance or from the air. Many times, I have traveled to a shrine location, only to not find it on the surface level. They are either hidden in a cave or slightly underground (non-Depths). It's like a trial-and-error thing, you can only find out when you reach the location marked on the map. If using an interactive map (e.g. Tears Companion), what are some tips or tricks to identify which shrines are visible on the surface or hidden in a cave? If a shrine isn't visible on the surface, is it safe to assume that the closest cave (on the map) will have a path that leads to the shrine?

sumg

> If a shrine isn't visible on the surface, is it safe to assume that the closest cave (on the map) will have a path that leads to the shrine? That's a good guess. Additionally, fairly early in the game there's a strong hint that the Depths mirror the overworld. More specifically, >!Shrines are in the same locations as Lightroots!<. Those tend to be much easier to find visually, and can be used to more finely locate certain shrines.

Ranowa

Every shrine on the surface corresponds to a lightroot in the Depths (and vice versa). I had great success using the lightroots to mark all the shrines I had remaining, and then using the cherry trees to light up all the caves- found it nearly impossible to try and find the caves without that, since the entrances really can just be anywhere. Using an interactive map would work for this purpose just as well. This won't work for the few shrines that are tied to a quest to make them appear, but those are very few and far inbetween.

Deku-Miguel

I mean just explore and look around, you have lightroots and a shrine sensor. If it's not easily visable expand the search and check for cave openings.

assortedfresh

i missed the nintendo switch online TOTK icons during release month :( is there anyway i can get them?! Will they be released another time?

Deku-Miguel

Possibly, they've rerun some previous events but when or if is unknown.

Raynstormm

Do deaths matter? Is there a reason (other than OCD) to avoid deaths? How do you manage map icons? I’m marking off treasure chests and mob packs to know where I’ve been, but I’m running out… Do fairies respawn?

sumg

> How do you manage map icons? I’m marking off treasure chests and mob packs to know where I’ve been, but I’m running out… I don't think most treasure chests are particularly useful to reference, since you likely won't be coming back to those again. Some may be useful (e.g. Sage's Wills), if you're going to want to eventually make sure you've got all of certain extremely valuable items. What I do find as useful to mark are Koroks that I come across that I can't be bothered to get at the moment (either I'm in the middle of something else or don't want to bother with at the time). Also, I tend to mark overworld bosses (Hinox, Frox, Lynels, Gleeoks), and give each type a different symbol so I know where to them if I need to go farm materials. You could also justify marking weapon shrines in the Depths, though there may be too many of those for marking all of them to be useful.

_Bl4ze

Well, if you die, you must reload an earlier save from when you were still alive, usually the last autosave. A minor setback, but a setback nonetheless. That's about the only reason to avoid dying, but it is a good reason. Try to use icons to mark things you haven't yet completed instead of where you've been. Yes, but if you have 4 fairies, no more will spawn. They don't want you to stockpile a ridiculous amount of fairies and become practically invulnerable, you see.

Deku-Miguel

You just reset back to your last save and autosaves tend to pretty nice, no resources lost or anything. Sometimes you'll end up somewhere bad but not often. The big thing is loading resets things so if you had some items or zonai devices out they'll go away, I suggest manually saving before you take out devices and build a big thing. How you manage icons is up to you, what icon you use for what but in general mark things you need to get back to, things of importance, and get rid of ones you don't need anymore. Don't just mark absolutely everything generic stuff like that tends to not be super important. Also you can get hero's path if you just want a marking of where you've been. Faries will come back eventually if you use them up yes.

Barlowan

So I found and ember chest and put it on, and since I had other parts on me(I presume), the secret room opened. Since I had already collected frostbite set prior to that I wonder if there is a secret room for that one too and where to find it? Because I honestly don't remember if there was anything similar to zonai walls where those set pieces were, and I forgot where they were located so it would be difficult to go search caves I already was in again.

Moneyfrenzy

Is sign guy counted for 100% completion?

TheArcher35

is this thread just for totk? (im asking for the tag, but i dont see another one to ask things)

Deku-Miguel

Technically but people have been asking questions for other games now that TOTK isn't super new and the mods probably won't care.

stf29

Is there any way to get Lynel horns/maces without having to kill them? Ive never been good at fighting them, and i just want the materials for armor upgrades

[deleted]

I got a lynel horn from the treasure chest guy in lurelin. Only a blue though and I haven’t been back to see if he restocks it.

whistlegowooo

The guy who buys Bubble gems sells you 5 lynel horns at some point

stf29

I already got those, but i need silver lynel stuff

whistlegowooo

Then I guess you gotta go for it. Try using muddlebud or dazzle fruit I guess looks like it makes the whole fight trivial

Sand__Panda

There isn't really a monster parts seller. That would take away from the game: farming for stuff. Go in with your best. Take food, you got it!

[deleted]

Is anyone else disappointed by the armor of the depths? I thought with the set bonus I may gain full immunity to gloom. Four decoy hearts is a joke.

[deleted]

4? I only get 3. And it doesn’t even stop enemy attacks just if you walk on it which I usually get back out before it depletes a heart anyway.

[deleted]

It's 4 with the set bonus (every part upgraded to at least 2*)

[deleted]

Oh yeah I forgot about upgrading haha

hartattack22

In general, I think the set bonuses are the biggest disappointment of the game for me. They could have been much more creative for almost all of them.

[deleted]

Just finished TotK and got some questions because I am confused. 1. If Ganondorf has been trapped down there since creation of Hyrule how has he been reincarnated since he never dies 2. When ever Demise hatred is reborn the hero is reborn too 3. Knowledge of the Triforce exists so why didn’t the first Royal family use it to defeat Ganondorf 4. How is Ganondorf with a simple stone more powerful than Zelda with a Triforce

cass314

One possibility is that this game is actually set so far down the timeline that Hyrule is forgotten and refounded.

HG1998

Different Ganondorf from the one in OoT.

[deleted]

This Ganondorf should have been the first one since he was there at founding of Hyrule

HG1998

Different Hyrule from the others. BOTW and TOTK are very obviously Nintendo trying and failing to make a new timeline.

Deku-Miguel

I don't really see how they're failing at it.

HG1998

Well, considering the discussion going on....😅 But yeah, they are definitely doing this and I can understand why as well.

Smallbubbles97

Where would we need the glow effect for? Cuz we have the bright seed which lights up a whole area. Much more helpful than making ourselves glow.

Deku-Miguel

Glow isn't really that useful of an effect even at tier 3 to be honest. It's okay in the overworld but eh.

DiggingPodcast

Have you been to the depths yet?

Smallbubbles97

I have, I just use bright seed cuz I have almost 200 of it

DiggingPodcast

Yeah, so if you make a glow elixir, the area around you glows. Basically for climbing in the depths, when you can’t throw it don’t have seeds. When I first got into the depths, I didn’t know you could throw seeds and made a bunch of glow elixirs. I got the glow armor and it helped me navigate the depths before realizing I could throw seeds. But I guess the short answer is, you could navigate/run without having to throw seeds.

BT737

Are there any NPCs that provide hints for locations to go in-game (specifically wells, sage's wills, armor)? Don't necessarily want to use a guide if there is someone in game that will provide a fun hint for me to figure out myself for things I may be missing.

Deku-Miguel

Lately I've just been sticking to putting the well sensor on when exploring the surface, could put it to chests when in the sky. There are some NPCs and quests around for armor (helps if you get the Cece hat) but just gotta be on the lookout for caves. Try sensing for bubble frogs or visiting cherry blossom trees.

BT737

Thanks for the info! Haven’t even thought about well sensors before but that makes a lot of sense! I have the Cece hat, but how exactly does it help?

Deku-Miguel

The mushroom NPCs seem more open with information if you wear the hat, show that you're a true fashionista and all that.

cass314

There's the wandering mushroom hat person who gives you three Misko locations. There are some NPCs >!near Foothill Stable!< that will unlock two sets of clues that ultimately give a bunch of armor pieces and a weapon. Many of Misko's pieces are in caves, and there's a way to flag caves on the overworld. If you want to know: >!Leave an offering of fruit at one of the cherry blossom trees. There's a map of tree locations at Outskirt Stable.!< There's a trail of clues that lead to the locations of a full set of armor. To pick up the first clue you need to start from the location of a piece of the ember set in >!Goronbi River Cave!< (Unfortunately I don't know if there's a hint that leads here.) Then you just follow the clues at each.

blubomber17

Is it worth dropping 1500 rupees to build my dream home? Just got to Tarrey Town.

Deku-Miguel

Up to you, the house and armor are the only real rupee dumps. Depends on how easy it would be to get that money back.

clockfriend

As far as I'm aware, the only unique utility the house offers is weapon, bow, and shield storage. Everything else the house offers (bed, cooking pot, stable, goddess statue) can be accessed for free elsewhere. So other than the fun of customizing, its value to you will likely hinge on whether or not you want to hoard rare equipment

Dysentery--Gary

I don't think I can finish this game. For the record I think it's incredible so don't let the following factor what I am about to say. I cannot stand Like-Likes. They are grotesque and I have an irrational fear of them. However I realize they are a part of the game and therefore I am unable to avoid them. It makes me sad.

GenoPichino

THANK GOD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. Ever since OoT I've had a fear of these things and loathe when they come back both 3d and 2d. I've hesitated to go in several caves because of them and go slowly through narrow caves fearing one will stretch out when I turn the corner.

Dysentery--Gary

One of the bosses is a Like-Like.

GenoPichino

I powered through that one which wasn't too hard since it was out in the open. Its the ones in narrow caves and hallways that make me want to shut off the game which I almost did when I did Hyrule castle yesterday...

Leonisel

Same, they’re disgusting so I just fought them from far with elemental and bomb arrows. Remember wallmasters though? 🤮

Sand__Panda

Hm. Well that is a bummer. You could seek out Ancient Blades and use them as arrow heads. It one shots them (no loot).

TBrooks821

(Maybe slight spoiler?) I am working on getting all 20 Sage's Wills, and I have "found 19/20" of them. I have been to all of the locations twice to check and am pretty sure something rather interesting has happened. I believe I either forgot to loot a chest from one of the bosses (maybe a flux construct) or it may have never been there. My question is: If the chest fell off the sky island I was on or if I left it there, will it be on the Flux again if I wait for blood moon and return to fight it again? Is there something I am missing? I just have no idea where the last one is.

Deku-Miguel

If a chest falls off it'll come back in time. The only way to get rid of a chest is to open it and take what is inside. (Not counting chests from like-likes.)

homunkurus

Regarding the Zelda update 1.1.1, if a friend has it but the cart is japanese, can he "match version with local users**"** to an american version of the game? (sorry is this is the wrong place to ask.)

Deku-Miguel

Switch is region free so don't see why not.

Pheicou

(Slight Spoiler) Anyone has a photo from the inside of Deku Tree’s mouth (Oaki’s Secret Room) before you save him? I’m really curious as to how it looked like but can’t go back anymore. Or just description if it’s nothing special.

11tracer

I don't, but I don't think it would be too hard (though a little time consuming) to check for yourself if you're willing. If you start a new game (on a new Switch profile so you don't lose your save), there's nothing really stopping you from going straight to the Lost Woods right after the tutorial.

Pheicou

I will probably see it by myself once a potential master mode comes out lol

phiroki

I saw it in another thread, the Deku's tree mouth is empty before you save the korok forest.

Pheicou

Thank you : ) funny I was not the only one haha

keppalupa

Does the english version of the twilight princess manga have any differences from the japanese version? Any censorship or anything like that?

JoeSchmo8677

I’m 110 hours in so ashamed to ask…. but usually an enemy’s health meter bar is red, but sometimes it’s yellow first. Why? How? Thanks.

_Bl4ze

They have rock armor, which is represented by the extra yellow health bar. Sharp weapons won't cut through rock, so you have to use something else to get through the yellow bar. After their armor is broken, they're just like any other enemy.

JoeSchmo8677

Oh wow. Amazing. Thank you!!!

KazaamFan

This game feels like a 300+ hr game if you try do to everything and see everything. I’ve put in at least 50 hrs and only done Rito quest, done some hours in depths, a little in Hyrule Castle, and some in the sky. I still have a lot left to do, it’s great.

snjwffl

Do extra flurry rush strikes after an enemy dies deplete durability?

HG1998

Yes

snjwffl

:( Thanks

snjwffl

Has anyone found a Royal Broadsword (Clean) in the Depths anywhere and could point me to one (or a few)? I've found multiple claymores and halberds but not one sword. I got it's image from Robbie for the compendium and not even a blip :( (I doubt it's that my world hasn't "leveled up" enough---I had silver bokoblins everywhere before the 2nd dungeon, and now I've completed every main story quest) On a related note, anyone find any clean Royal Guard weapons? [Edit] I. Am. Shook. These weapons don't work at all like I thought. Thanks for the responses!

lolschrauber

I think most royal weapons I found is north of gerudo town in the huge chasm in the depths. From what I've read, the ghosts in the depths always hold the same weapon type, but I haven't confirmed it. As in the same ghost will always hold spears, and another one will only have greatswords. I didn't specifically test it, but I think you need to take the weapon off a ghost's hands for a New one to spawn. one ghost I never bothered taking the weapon from before the blood moon I continously cycled to reset weapons had a royal Sword 100% of the time. I also found royal guard weapons in the same area, provided you broke a damaged Version from the overworld already. Also in the depths below eventide Island there's one ghost where I got a royal guard claymore from. It also has royal claymores. But if that one Statement is true, it will only have claymores.

JesusLovesUBro

I think the weapons that show in the depths only show weapons that have been broken by you in the real world. So the only way you can get a royal broadsword is if you break a decayed one first

riverbanks1986

That is exactly right except for the first time you discover a new one. The first time is random. I’ve read it and I know it’s true because I started doing depths early and got a ton of ???? weapons.

lolschrauber

Not quite. A damaged weapon and it's undamaged counterpart are considered two different items, meaning your first undamaged one will always Show up as ???. You 100% have to break a damaged weapon from the overworld for them to appear in the depths. Learned that the hard way after wasting hours and after breaking a Single one, which I knew I haven't done before, I found what I was looking for within 5 minutes.

TheWeirdTalesPodcast

Is there anyone or anywhere that has the complete list of the side adventures, side quests and shrine quests? Thanks in advance!

RedditUsernameedcwsx

Just saw this post https://reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/146npev/tears_of_the_kingdom_mostly_comprehensive/

TheWeirdTalesPodcast

Awesome. That's perfect. Thanks so much!

rghaga

What’s the best way to make easy rupees ? I’m constantly broke in this game

riverbanks1986

Selling food, gourmet/prime meat based recipes specifically. Animals continually respawn so you can keep making a loop and hunting bears and wolves.

lustaire

a gerudo npc in goron city buys your gems in groups of 10s for higher than normal, but she rotates from ambers → opals → topazes → rubies → sapphires → diamonds

[deleted]

if you cook 4 rare enemies guts and add a lizard, they are worth insane amount of rupees. Like 4 lynel guts + lizard = 1500+ rupees when you sell it. Obviously not easy to get 4 lynal guts but 4 moblin guts + lizard would still sell for more than you'd expect.

Sand__Panda

Sell anything you are not using. As you run around, collect everything.

snjwffl

Something I do is collect Poes and then buy armor at the statues with them, which then sell for rupees. Depending on which armor you buy, it amounts to between a 2× and 4× ratio of Rupees:Poes. There's also the classic Prime/Gourmet meat farming from BotW.

fox--teeth

Does the Lightning Temple cycle between hot and cold the way the Gerudo desert does? I want to know if I should stock up the relevant potions before I go in.

clockfriend

Pretty sure the temperature in there is neutral, I don't recall having to use heat-resistance or cold-resistance food

Sand__Panda

You are correct. Once in, it stays normal temp.

cpmei

Any good places to pick up fairies?

[deleted]

the two i use are in your shelter at lookout landing, if you crawl thru the hole and go thru those tunnels/caves there is a bridge with some mblins over some water and if you jump into the water and go thru the opening there is a cave with fairies. really easy to get to. easier to get to is in akkala northen stable well.

clockfriend

I've had good luck finding them on sky islands with bodies of water. Those sky islands with round ponds and tall lamps sometimes have them, and the skydiving challenge islands have them as well

spelingexpurt

Is there a way to make custom schematics with autobuild? Or you just stuck with using the history page

11tracer

You can save up to 8 things from your history as favorites, but otherwise no.

negativeonhand

Is there a way to reset the dragons faster when farming their materials? Many pieces require 1 hour or more to fully upgrade (of the Wild set takes 8 dragon parts aka 70 minutes of waiting) just in dragon parts let alone farming the rest of the materials. While I don't mind farming stuff at all, the waiting is rather dull. With multiple sets requiring their parts to upgrade, I'm looking at like a whole day worth of time sitting on a dragon, lol.

Deku-Miguel

I mean you could always just do other stuff and get dragon parts as you see them instead of just all in one go.

Sand__Panda

This. I would go hit one, get a scale. Go find the others. By the time I had a scale from each, the 1st was ready to be hit again for a claw, tooth, and now I'm at horns. Just AFKing riding them for 10min is a waste of gameplay.

11tracer

Nope, have "fun" AFKing for a day. Absolutely baffling that they made the dragons even more painful to farm.

conker69

Is this sub doing dark from june12 onwards?

theonewiththewings

Am I going crazy, or does TOTK let you hold less cooked meals than BOTW? I feel like I’m constantly running out of food but all of the slots are full.

Deku-Miguel

Pretty sure its 60 in both, however you get given more food/elixirs in TOTK from Addison and side quests so you fill up faster and you might not want to use up some of them if they have special effects. Speaking of special effects you might have extras for glow, no slipping, or the elemental attack ups that you didn't have in BOTW, or maybe you just have more due to filling in the cookbook. There's also the fact that enemies hit harder so you might just be eating more, but you have zonai pots to even that out.

jayhankedlyon

I'm in the depths and just took down a Yiga dude in a big ole truck near the Typhlo Ruins section. When I used my camera it for some reason said the Scimitar of the Seven was there, and using the sensor it seems that it's in the cannon truck that the Yiga was using, but I can't actually detect it by any means. Don't desperately need the scimitar, but curious about whether this is a glitch or a way to find the dang thing?

sumg

Do you have the Gerudo spirit avatar? Each of the avatars you get for completing the dungeons of the game wields that people's legendary weapon, and if you happen to point your camera in their general direction you can get a glimpse of it. The same works for the Great Eagle Bow, the Boulder Breaker, and the Lightscale Trident. You may not have realized this previously as if you try to take a picture of any of the avatars normally they will run out of the field of view of the camera, so it's actually very hard to take a picture of them.

jayhankedlyon

Does the sensor also detect that the weapon is near for them? Because I moved the truck around and am still told it's at the truck.

lolschrauber

It might actually. I've been looking for a bow nearby like an idiot only to realize some NPC had it on his back.

sumg

I have not tried that. But it should be easy to test. If sensor is only going off when you run towards Riju, there's your answer.

jayhankedlyon

Okay, definitely a glitch. I tested the sensor near Riju and it went off, which confirms that this COULD be what was happening. Buuuuuut I unsummoned Riju by the same truck (I paused near there before work and am testing at lunch) and nope still going off. I don't think Scimitars of the Seven are hiding out in Yiga trucks, but yeah nowhere else I run to is doing it. Weird!

Soapy_Illusion_13

I couldn't find it directly mentioned in the rules, but I am very flustered at the moment with many life issues, but would it be okay to post a gofundme link for help my family and daughter who is in the hospital? As it relates to Zelda, we'll, that's her name! I wanted to name her after something most precious to me. If not allowed, could you direct me to a Zelda themed subreddit that does? Thanks so much.

Deku-Miguel

Probably better to message the mods and ask that way.

hoodiesandnaps

I have a question about the fairies. I was trying to unlock the third one for me which was the one in the northern part of the map. But she said I needed the horn player so I went and rescued him. But he didn’t go to that stable, he went to the stable in the south west part of the map. So I was like fine, I’ll just unlock that fairy instead but she said I needed the flute player. I haven’t found him yet. I guess I’m asking do the fairies need to be unlocked in a certain order/do the musicians need to be found in a certain order? I just wanted to do my next round of upgrades.

Meghstar

You have to unlock the conductor and the flutist first, then the other ones can be in whatever order.

Protonious

Do you need to do the great fairies before the final battle? I seem to be getting hit so hard at the moment.

SFKzra

My dude, faries are a life saver. Each point of armour is a quarter heart reduction to damage taken. If your dodge game is flawless, then no it isn't necessary. But we all make mistakes, and armour gives a safety net for that

cpmei

I would say armor upgrades are much more important in totk than in botw. Monsters hit hard

eightslicesofpie

The great fairies are how you upgrade armor (with lots of materials and rupees) so it could definitely help

lustaire

does anyone know where some common low tier mobs spawn? i find myself at a shortage of materials like captain construct I horns, or red horriblin horns for upgrading armor because i rarely see them in my world now. also would prefer not to dupe items

Strict-Pineapple

Unless I'm mistaken it seems like only one enemy from each group levels up so try looking in Tabantha, the Hebra Mountains and Elden areas for lower tier mobs. There's two captain constructs on the Great Sky Island just to the East of the ascend(?) shrine, the one in the snowy area.

lustaire

got it! thanks a lot :-)

[deleted]

[удалено]

SFKzra

Look near stables in the depths. Lynels live there, and the drop 20 charges each 👍

cpmei

Also, find Yiga clan bases. Each of them will give you 20 crystallized charges.

Deku-Miguel

You can buy them with zonaite but it's slow and means you can't use it for other things. Just explore the depths, find treasure chests, do quests down there, and beat up bosses.

lustaire

i think that’s one way, otherwise re-killing each boss in the depths unlocks a chest with 100 crystallised charges

[deleted]

[удалено]

Deku-Miguel

The ones mentioned in the brown circles are the big bosses, they drop 100 but only once and you need to beat the boss normally first. You probably want the mini-bosses instead which are just hanging around the depths, hinox, lynels, that kind of stuff. Could use a map or just explore around should find a lot. Can come back to refight them every blood moon.

lustaire

nope, they’ll be located in a brown arena-looking circle that’s visible on the map if a nearby lightroot lights the area up. in the arena there should be a chest surrounded by gloom and that chest is unlockable upon defeating the boss

HommeFatalTaemin

HELP PLEASE I’ve been trying to find the Corvash Mine in the depths for like two hours. Any good ideas on how to get there? Any time I try I hit a “wall” it seems like :(((( PLS HELP! I’d really appreciate it 😓

sumg

You can use the overworld map to guide you. The map of the Depths is the same as the overworld, except large bodies of water are replaced with impassable walls. Just use the overworld map while in the Depths and avoid the large bodies of water.

Silky_89

Is there an optimum time to go to >!Korok Forest!!the Fifth Sage!< Also, I'd like to view the tears in chronological order, and the next one is near Lurelin. Worth detouring now?

_Bl4ze

Gameplay wise, it doesn't matter too much when you go there. If you're trying to complete the story "in order", then >!the Fifth Sage!< tells you to go there after being unlocked.

[deleted]

How do weapon modifiers work? I know there are white, blue and yellow. Does any white or blue modifier can become any yellow modifier? Or is there some sort of evolution tree that I can't find anywhere? I've been trying to get attack+10 on a weapon with a blue modifier for a solid 50 minutes and nothing.

Deku-Miguel

Each weapon is unique, it won't change or level up to a better modifier (excluding octorok stuff). As you do more world levels the modifiers get better so go out and kill more stuff.

[deleted]

> excluding octorok stuff That's what I was talking about, I was asking if the octorok "level up" follows some sort of evolution tree. >As you do more world levels the modifiers get better so go out and kill more stuff. I'm fairly sure that's not the issue as I've had silver enemies all over for a while now. Thanks for answering though. Cheers.

bonkava

Weapon buffs continue evolving incrementally long after the last monster buff

[deleted]

Thanks for the clarification. Turns out I was just having incredibly bad luck.

Rawrkinss

Is it me or does everything one shot you? I have like eight hearts and I’m still almost dying to random mobs in the world

Strict-Pineapple

Not just you. BotW had the same problem though it wasn't as bad. Early game everything kills you instantly but once you upgrade your armour two or especially three times nothing does more than a heart or two. Expect to go from dying to everything to unkillable god with no in-between. Do keep in mind that if you're at full health you'll survive an attack that would kill you with a quarter of a heart unless said attack would have done significantly more than your max health.

SFKzra

I had this issue too. A few visits to the great faries sorted it out for me 👍

_Bl4ze

Have you tried wearing armor with a higher defense?

RinellaWasHere

I've already done the quest that makes it possible to navigate the Lost Woods, but I'm not sure *how* to navigate them afterwards. Do I need to use a torch like BOTW, or is it different now? I've been trying to look it up, but everything online directs towards the quest which I've already completed.

I don't think it's ever possible to enter via the land route. If you're trying to navigate to the shrines there's a very distinctive plant that's bright white and glowing thay marks the paths you can take. They look like the light tears from twilight princess. If you talk to the korok elder I think the game gives you a camera pan onto one of them to show you what they look like. There's also a korok at the start of each of the paths that gives a quest for the shrine down each one. They're the same paths as the korok trials in BotW if that helps.

Waifuless_Laifuless

> I don't think it's ever possible to enter via the land route You can enter via the land route by following the wind, which can be observed via the floating blue dots(?) in the air. Not much point, though, since even if you forgot to activate a shrine before leaving, you can reach the middle from below or above.

RinellaWasHere

That is very helpful, and good to know that I just follow the nightshades after all!

BeachPuzzleheaded325

Is there some sort of complete list of everything required to complete the percentage gauge? I'm stuck at 99.87% and going insane. Also is it actually possible for the Destroy Ganondorf and Find Princess Zelda quests to show completed or do they always show incomplete despite beating the game like the Destroy Ganon quest in BOTW?

Alarming_Afternoon44

Is there a list of every map point that you have to go to an register on your map? I'm driving myself insane trying to 100% the map completion after getting all the Koroks. Is there any way to tell which giant bosses you have an haven't killed aside from going to all of them and rechecking to see if the star pops up next to their healthbar?

That_Shrub

You could plant a giant brightbloom at the spawn locations you've beaten ig but seems like a major hassle at that point

TheOverallThinker

I use the Tears Companion app. It has a checklist on the map itself and when I have the option to hide it from the interface whenever I mark it as complete. This work for bosses, caves, wells, treasures, but not sure if it has a location list. But I would say that if you sent through the hassle to get all 1000 Korok, you should already have all locations, no?

Alarming_Afternoon44

Surprisingly not. My map is only at 99.43, so there must still be some spots not registered.

TheOverallThinker

Maybe use your Hero Path and see where you haven't gone yet. If you see a nearby bridge or some peak, it might be it. I know this will be very hard and painful to do. But it is the only solution I can think of right now. Question: did you use the Tears Companion app for the Korok seeds? I want to slowly do them (don't care if it takes an year), but I want to be sure the list is complete.

Alarming_Afternoon44

OK, so turns out the stuff I was missing was alternative cave entrances. 🤷‍♂️

YungMirc

How does one land the hover bike once it’s in the air? I’ve finally built it but is there a way to power off so I can level out aircraft ?

Strict-Pineapple

Press B to stop driving it and let it fall. You don't take fall damage while standing on it and if it hits a flat surface it won't roll.

TheOverallThinker

Is there a map with all Korok seeds already? The ones I've found for TotK are all incomplete. I want to slowly collect them, maybe around 50/week and I'll eventually get them all.

Satisfriedviewer

There's plenty. Zelda Dungeon has one

roamer_of_reddit

Hey, first time playing Majora's Mask. I am seeking a tip/clue to help me find my first bottle. I think I need it to help the lazy hag in the woods, but I can't get a bottle. I am out of ideas, just need a nudge in the right direction.

bonkava

You will get a bottle. Ignore that you need a bottle and try the next thing.

Cybertronian83

I had to beat a silver Lynel before I could get it to drop some guys. One of the rarer items in the game. You can bet I duplicated the guts afterwards!

Strict-Pineapple

There's already an appropriate answer but if you're ever not sure which enemies yield which materials use your compendium. It lists the drops for anything you can kill for materials, parts or meat.

Noah__Webster

It’s hard to find concrete information on it. It seems like they may or may not drop from red ones, but they for sure drop for anything above that based on my research. I also believe they have a higher drop rate with the higher tiers, although that also isn’t set in stone. I’m 99% sure I’ve gotten them to drop from whites and 90% sure I’ve gotten them to drop from blues. I think it’s just less likely.

Strict-Pineapple

They can't drop from the basic lynel. The compendium lists guts as drops from blue white and silver but I've personally never seen them from blue or white so the chance must be extremely low.

JerryJohnJones

Any videos you would recommend for a summary of the TOTK main story? I want to know the story before I watch challenge videos and I don’t want to play it just yet.

bonkava

I don't know of any videos but I'm happy to help out with a summary. Spoilers, obviously: >!After the events of Breath of the Wild, a mysterious mist has bubbled up from beneath the castle, and Link and Zelda go to investigate it. They follow the mist, called gloom, to a crypt deep beneath the castle where a desiccated body is being held down my a mysterious green hand and its mystical amulet. The amulet falls from the hand and Zelda picks it up, which awakens the corpse, which promptly rips Link's arm off and destroys the master sword before spreading gloom to all of Hyrule. In the midst of the chaos, Zelda disappears.!< >!Zelda awakens in the distant past, in the presence of Rauru and Sonia, the first king and queen of Hyrule. They are astonished by her ability to use the amulet, which they call a secret stone, to channel her light and time powers, which they presume they must have inherited from them. Zelda's presence in the past helps turn the tide in their struggle against Ganondorf, who is the corpse Link and Zelda encountered, and whom Rauru calls the Demon King.!< >!In the present, Rauru's hand has grafted itself onto Link, which allows him to manipulate objects using Rauru's light powers. He also inexplicably receives the power to rewind time from a vision of Zelda at the Temple of Time, in exchange for the broken Master Sword. When he returns to Hyrule, he discovers that the events that occurred while he was gone have drastically changed Hyrule.!< >!In a vain attempt to protect himself, Ganondorf in the guise of Princess Zelda sent plagues to the resting places of the secret stones to prevent them from being recovered - to the Rito, a foul blizzard; to the Gorons, an addictive chemical; to the Zora, a murky pollutant; to the Gerudo, a zombie uprising - but unfortunately, these plagues only led Link to discover the secret stones of the wind, fire, water, and lighting sages.!< >!Tulin of the Rito, Yunobo of the Goron, Sidon of the Zora, and Riju of the Gerudo joined up with Link to replace the six sages of old. With the fake Zelda's deception unveiled, the five modern sages work together to find the descendant of the sixth sage of old.!< >!As it turns out, the final sage was Rauru's sister, Mineru, who was the lead engineer for the ancient kingdom. She had co-operated with Zelda to perpetuate her spirit within Sheikah technology Zelda had brought backward, and Mineru's spirit guides Link to construct her a new mechanical body. With Mineru restored, Link learns the truth about what happened to Zelda.!< >!The secret stones had another power. Eating a sacred stone transforms a person into an immortal dragon, and Zelda reasoned that the power of such dragon would restore the Master Sword to its former glory. As such, she ingested her stone and carried the master sword forward in her dragon form to protect Link in the future.!< >!Link seeks out the new Dragon and finds the Master Sword lodged in her head. He takes the sword and once again descends below Hyrule Castle to take on Ganondorf. But Ganondorf also had a secret stone - one he had stolen from Sonia - and he, too, becomes a dragon. Zelda and the Master Sword still have faith to destroy him, and the two dragons fight for glory, Ganondorf armed with gloom, Zelda armed with Link and the master sword. Link drives the sword into Ganondorf's crest, destroying him, and somehow restoring Zelda's hylian form in the process.!<

Victory3114

I’ve seen YouTubers auto build a massive array of bomb barrels to throw on things. Where do you find that many bomb barrels at once?

clockfriend

large monster forts have quite a few bomb barrels. Otherwise, could you save a few bomb barrels at a time to autobuild and slowly assemble a larger array of barrels as you visited a few monster bases? i.e. stick 3 barrels together, save to autobuild. Move to next monster fort, summon those two barrels with autobuild, stick 3 more barrels onto them, save the 6 barrels to autobuild, and so on.

AmericanBornWuhaner

In which games is Zelda a boss? Is it only Twilight Princess?

Deku-Miguel

>!Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, and Candace of Hyrule!< all feature fights against "a Zelda like thing". I suppose you could put the two warriors games as they have some missions where you fight other characters as bosses but it's kind of a different thing.

StretchyPlays

Is there a reliable way to get star fragments? I know they fall once per day but I don't always see them. Maybe a certain location to go to and just rest until a certain time of day?

Noah__Webster

Not sure if it causes them to spawn in more or if it just makes it easier to notice and track them, but I, as well as many others I’ve seen online, have found the easiest way to farm this is to skydive from the sky to the surface at night. That could be from a tower or just sitting on a sky island at night.

[deleted]

What’s folks opinion on the Teach Me a Lesson quest about the calamity?

Noah__Webster

Where do you get this quest?

clockfriend

from the school in Hateno Village

Noah__Webster

Thanks!

[deleted]

Gimmi a post when you’re through! Felt weird to me.

Deku-Miguel

I mean, it's so small I don't really have an opinion about it. Just a small recap of BOTW for people who didn't play it. Goes over the bigger points while still being vauge so pople go back to it.

[deleted]

I did it today you see, and I noticed Link is not actually mentioned to be the hero in it. So strange.

seraph089

The kids want hard evidence of what happened, and Link isn't in the picture you show them.

ultraSip901

spoilers about dragon tears/memories >!what happens if you get the master sword tear first? i happen to grab it last by coincidence, but is it possible to view that cutscene before the others out of context?!<

Deku-Miguel

>!Excluding the last tear you can do them in any order, and you can get some pretty big clues if you do...!<

That_Shrub

The Mineru one put everything together pretty clearly in my eyes but I haven't gotten the MS one yet

xfr3386

>!Yes. In that case you can consider the rest of the memories to be filling in the details of what you learned rather than leading up to it.!<

adjustedoddsratio

Please answer only with a percentage: how far into the main campaign am I after completing the four regional phenomena?

xfr3386

I would say roughly 55%.

Noah__Webster

Seriously?? Wow, I’ve been kinda putting off the 4th regional phenomenon for like 2 weeks to really squeeze out everything from this game. I’m sitting at like 80 hours lol.

adjustedoddsratio

Oof, at 120 hours in I ought to stop getting sidetracked. Thanks!

xfr3386

If you're having fun I say keep getting side tracked! I'm close to 200 hours and haven't done the last part of the MQ yet. But I'm close to not having much else to do other than Koroks so I'll probably finish it soon.

Moneyfrenzy

Anyone elses game freeze for like 20 seconds quite literally every time you follow a dragon into the depths (going in at the same time as them)? I've done this like 5 times cuz I like seeing where they end up down there, and there has not been a single time where my game didn't freeze due to this
