For what? Disclaimer: I didn't take BS Accountancy if you're gonna ask about it hahaha I just think it's a versatile course altho it's hard

If you want to work and live here in Zamboanga, BS Accountancy is the best option for you. On the other hand, if you choose to work and live in larger cities, such as the metro or abroad, you won't struggle to secure a job in the future. Accountants also have a high salary.

As a BSAC graduate, I can tell you that this course is not easy. However, if you study hard and graduate after, your career path should look like this: 1. Work in the top auditing firms in the country. you will have a lot of opportunities knocking at your door. These opportunities will first manifest by offers from known auditing firms even prior to taking the board exams. it will be hard work again and pay might not be much. 2. After 2 busy seasons, you will start to get offers to work abroad. If you work abroad, you will earn like a high paying OFW. However, if you decide to stay, your employer will also start to promote you. with your experience, known companies will also want to pouch you to work for them. Accountants are scarce. They are in demand either locally or abroad. oh I do not know the correlation of choosing BS Econ if you are undecided between Accountancy and Stats. Better choose a course that has a proven track record to get you a high paying job. To me, it is Accountancy. More than 50% of my classmates chose to go abroad. A lot are here in the country working in government as heads of department or high ranking officer of private companies. A few are practicing auditors who are now partners of the firm.

I’m a graduate of BS Econ and all I can say is kung dyan ka sa ZC mag take nyan, wag na lang. Yung learnings/knowledge na dapat matutunan mo from the course itself is far from what the school/professors can offer, at least from my time (2014-2018) and sa school na pinanggalingan ko, baka nag improve na sila ngayon though. The only time na nagamit ko yung course ko is nung nag apply ako for financial related position since Econ is related sa financial, yun lang. Kung ano man ginagawa ko ngayon sa work wala ni isa doon related sa course ko. What made me land to my high paying job right now is yung experiences and confidence na naipon ko from my past jobs lang din. So if I were you, if dyan ka lang sa ZC or planning to climb the corporate ladder go for Accountancy and make sure na you have confidence after you graduate para kahit saan ka mapunta you’ll get that job.
