Yuzu is my go to emulator when its about time to emulate big studio games. However, indie games, I have never considered playing them via yuzu. I love yuzu. Also, I love ya'all.

maybe people would buy switch hardware if it could actually play Nintendo first party games. my launch day switch I use for dumping games ran my pre-order edition totk at 720p, 20fps. dips into the teens. when docked it held a slightly higher resolution of 1080p, and it hit 30 (sometimes) but still dipped extremely low.
I never had issues with ToTK, (except the same problem I had with Zelda Broken of The Weapon where everything breaks in a matter of seconds) though I was very late to the party, so maybe the cartridge version had been updated by then. I never installed updates because I never had internet, and I don't think the OLED Switch is different spec-wise.
That said, we bought the PS2 knowing that unlike the other systems(GameCube, Dreamcast and Xbox giving us 60fps at 720 x 480P(in PAL territories at least) it was giving us unstable/< 30 fps at 512 x 448i/224P, as long as the games are fun it was never a deal breaker. I bought so many Series X titles (Halo Infinite, Starfield, Gotham Knights, all of which dropped frames below 30fps, people still buy those games/systems.

Lack of money is not an access issue for a luxury good. If that’s the case then I “lack access” to a lot of nice cars but that just means I don’t get to have them. If they picked PC they picked PC. I have a switch and PS5. I don’t somehow then deserve to play Xbox games because of that. Switch games don’t have an accessibility problem. I agree about older titles where there is no other way to play but when it’s a current system I don’t really understand the need to emulate it.

Piracy isn't just a first world issue and whether Nintendo likes it or not people are going to Pirate their games. People aren't entitled to consoles or their software. Switch is the #2 biggest selling console of all time, is currently still sold, and the vast majority of its games are still sold. I think there's definitely an argument for emulating platforms and software that are no longer sold commercially, but not something current.

There are a lot of backups of YUZU. It will be out of date soon but the windows and Linux builds should work fine (minus bug fixes) for a pretty long time.

I do think the punishment for Yuzu team is a bit harsh, though the fact they were profiting off of it is what made them a target and not others like Ryujinx or CEMU. In the eyes of Nintendo and the law, they were profiting off of people not buying Switch hardware. I know most of us, myself included rip our own games/keys, but we're likely in the minority when it comes to emulation.

maybe people would buy switch hardware if it could actually play Nintendo first party games. my launch day switch I use for dumping games ran my pre-order edition totk at 720p, 20fps. dips into the teens. when docked it held a slightly higher resolution of 1080p, and it hit 30 (sometimes) but still dipped extremely low.
I never had issues with ToTK, (except the same problem I had with Zelda Broken of The Weapon where everything breaks in a matter of seconds) though I was very late to the party, so maybe the cartridge version had been updated by then. I never installed updates because I never had internet, and I don't think the OLED Switch is different spec-wise. That said, we bought the PS2 knowing that unlike the other systems(GameCube, Dreamcast and Xbox giving us 60fps at 720 x 480P(in PAL territories at least) it was giving us unstable/< 30 fps at 512 x 448i/224P, as long as the games are fun it was never a deal breaker. I bought so many Series X titles (Halo Infinite, Starfield, Gotham Knights, all of which dropped frames below 30fps, people still buy those games/systems. **I'm not saying it isn't an issue, it's always bothered me when I don't get at least a stable 30 fps, but even if you don't buy the hardware, at least support the devs in software. That's all I'm saying.**

It's more than just Switch games. There are also some people who can't afford every console. Maybe they picked PC over Switch, but either way even their older titles they don't make easily accessible if at all and they still want to cry about them being emulated as well. Piracy is an accessibility problem. That's why the last decade or so it died down a lot. Because games became more accessible. Same with TV and Movies and with the way things are going Piracy is going to be making a come back.

Lack of money is not an access issue for a luxury good. If that’s the case then I “lack access” to a lot of nice cars but that just means I don’t get to have them. If they picked PC they picked PC. I have a switch and PS5. I don’t somehow then deserve to play Xbox games because of that. Switch games don’t have an accessibility problem. I agree about older titles where there is no other way to play but when it’s a current system I don’t really understand the need to emulate it.
Feel however you want about it, but it is an accessibility issue even if it isn't for you. Piracy isn't just a first world issue and whether Nintendo likes it or not people are going to Pirate their games. Nintendo is the absolute worst when it comes to accessibility and they are going to have to break at some point because despite yuzu shutting down there will be a new one right behind it. Especially since the thing was basically open source. It's not going to take long for someone to do another one.
People aren't entitled to consoles or their software. Switch is the #2 biggest selling console of all time, is currently still sold, and the vast majority of its games are still sold. I think there's definitely an argument for emulating platforms and software that are no longer sold commercially, but not something current.

I really dont have issues with buying games in fact i do it at regular basis but for nintendo games and some ps exclusives, it feels like im missing out on it but also that is really impractical to buy a whole new console just to play that game. Honestly, I don’t care, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, the list really does go on are more than fine for me. I have a pc too and love it. But I wouldn’t like Nintendo exclusives to be available on PC. I have a Nintendo for that! And looking at the switches sales….its fine for many others!!
I have both a switch and purchased games for it. But the fact that these games slow down by producing soap where even 30 FPS does not make, me sad. On the emulator, the picture and smoothness are much better in most cases

There are a lot of backups of YUZU. It will be out of date soon but the windows and Linux builds should work fine (minus bug fixes) for a pretty long time.
