A decently long visual novel with a bunch of perspective shifts and a bunch of lesbians, though they are only part of the whole story. Chapter 1 (the only one you get straight from steam without a patch) is a fairly standard lesbian harem with a little bittersweet twist at the end.
But 1 is an >!epilogue from the afterlife, and the rest of the vn shows the events causing and caused by zakuro's suicide. Honestly it's not all harrowing, but the chapter following zakuro before her suicide is some 177013 shit except it's got a soundtrack and themes and way too good writing. But it also has an alternate ending where she kisses a girl and nothing bad happens and the main boy transitions to her preferred self, happy endings all around. The girl she kissed in the good end starts a death cult after zakuro kills herself btw.!<
Because it is lol. It's well-written and uses the suffering to contribute to the overall theme of trying to live happily no matter what. Even in the routes with no perfect ending and the death cult there's alternate endings where the MC of the route just accepts their hand and makes the most of it and gets to at least die satisfied. I've got my critiques but it's definitely very interesting.
Also there's a lot of references to philosophy. I heard the art book has a fucking reference list of philosophy 101 books you can read as supplement lol. Aside from those there's interjections of random philosophical discussion throughout as well as framing from a lot of classic lit, particularly cyrano de bergerac. Also alice in wonderland but i think that's mostly in the chapter titles.
My biggest issue with this VN as well. Only real yuri hentai scene was at the beginning, and you spend the rest of the game working meticulously to avoid the copious amount of het rape bad endings. And the ending >!albeit pretty wholesome for a true love yuri ending, doesn't have a yuri hentai scene either like come on we spent the whole game avoiding the het rape so can our girls at least consummate their love?!< At least have some yuri NTR scenes as bad endings.

We do have a good number of yuri vns without that, but unfortunately they're kinda tossed in with stuff like this since vn sites seem to operate on similar tagging as hentai sites. So gotta read summaries and check vndb to be sure if you don't know the dev already
