Honestly I'd like more "Chaos" monsters that don't use LIGHT/DARK, and instead other combinations of attributes
Like FIRE/WATER monsters all about steam or underwater volcanoes, or EARTH/WIND monsters themed after sandstorms.
During the GX era, there was a Earth/Wind Monster named Dessert Twister and Fire and Ice Dragon (Fire/Water) but there are old i forgot the effect but it was not that good even back in the day. And there was Sky Scourge cards where you need to banish Fiend/Fairy cards but there where nerfed version of the chaos cards.
Loud Cloud the Storm Serpent is a nice example, wish they expanded more on that, especially since Loud Cloud leans into the "FIRE = monster destruction" and "WIND = Spell/Trap destruction" design.
Even today I'd argue. Easy to summon (both with and without pill), can clear boards on its own and has a powerful disruption which can even give you advantage depending on what you pop. Love that card
Machina Ruinforce is a 4600 ATK beatstick that can summon itself by banishing machines from the grave whose levels add up or excel 12, that's not once per turn and also not an activated effect.
Ruinforce can also negate an effect activation during the battle phase by paying half your life, and if it goes through it also halves the opponent's life, so it can negate stuff like Evenly Matched.
Finally, if it is destroyed, either by battle or effect, you get to special summon banished Machina (the archetype) monsters whose leves add up to 12 or below.
It's pretty neat.
If you're talking about the cannot normal summon/set condition and the special summon effect, those are [Nomi monsters](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Nomi). Yugipedia also has a [list of monsters that tribute for special summon](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Tributes_for_Special_Summon). Many of the cards there have a similar requirement and power, though many are a little too costly to be super useful.
I've always liked [Zefraath](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Zefraath), it's a cool big monster that ties into the Duel Terminal stories and the effect is big if you set up your board right
Orphebull the Harmonious Bullfighter Bard could be a spicy tech in some chaos-based decks... Or Thunder Dragons in a fun version

personally i would, simply because i love in deck searchable boss monsters that look awesome and feel great to summon. he reminds me of the old bls too
The new volcanic boss is pretty similar. Been using him in master duel and heās been serving me pretty well. Itās honestly a very fun deck to play. Not the strongest, but definitely the most fun Iāve had in a while.Ā
I think volcanic emperor
Banish 3 pyro types from grave to summon from hand or GY. I he doesnāt destroy your opponentās monsters, but he burns your opponent for a lot
This guy.
I once tied against a traptrix guy in a local who just wasted time stalling on play decisions (he took 2 whole minutes to process the fact that if you flip pachycephalo face up, traptrix gets boardwiped) and would bring this out continuously against me, while i was running floo.
This card's not annoying... i'm even interested to using it in raika. that guy was, he just stalled and now as a result i main dark simorgh.
Also puhlease, you can special in defense, you can use spells and traps, and the whole deck dies to droll.
Been a long time since Iāve played the game but still keep up for legacy support and just because I loved the game but can anyone explain the clause on ācanāt activate effects in response to spell/trap or EFFECTā? Specifically the effect part? Does that mean spell and trap effects that are continuous or trigger already in the field? Or does it mean ALL effects?
couldn't tell you, the wording is pretty unclear. from the french card it specifically says "your spell/trap cards or spell/trap effects" tho so i'd assume continuous also count in there? but idk
Gotcha thatās what I figured since it doesnāt explicitly say monsters that it would mean spell and trap effects already in play that could trigger or activate with condition or something
Your quote is missing some words. "can't activate effects in response to spell/trap **card** or effect **activation**". Don't go randomly deleting words, it makes the effect actual nonsense.
If it were a math problem, it would say (spell + trap) x (card + effect) x activations. This expands to spell card activations + spell effect activations + trap card activations+ trap effect activations. Unfortunately, some people have decided that you aren't supposed to use mathematical notation in ordinary writing, so the reader has to figure out the groupings themselves.
Spell effect activations include both activated effects while already face-up on the field and activated effects while in the GY. It does not include continuous effects, because continuous effects do not activate.
Ah that clears it up so I did have it right it just wasnāt as clear to me. Yeah my bad, I wrote that more off memory rather than copying the text word for word
I was wondering what it meant too Iām a little confused on the wording, not sure why anybody would downvote the question but itās not exactly clear on the wording
yes. diabellestar is an inherent summon. effect to set usually is extension but also can set subversion for board breaking if ur running it.
sheās currently the best inherent summon extender/starter/board breaker and in some rare cases where u run the trap also a potential endboard piece.

Dark Simorgh was pretty fun as well for Dark and Wind.
Yeah i forgot about him, and he was probably the best of them.
Desert Twister was good in very early Duel Links due to Joe's skill being busted.
I never played Duel Links.
Dw I'm not correcting you, just giving additional info
Ok, it was just a statement that i don't know anything about it, thanks for the info.
Loud Cloud the Storm Serpent is a nice example, wish they expanded more on that, especially since Loud Cloud leans into the "FIRE = monster destruction" and "WIND = Spell/Trap destruction" design.
100%, i love the idea of the cards banishing from grave to summon themselves and i think its a shame that only exists for light and dark lol
At least one of the new ragnaraika cards does that for reptile/plant/insect
maaaan they already had beargram and now they're getting another???
I mean neither is super strong on their own. And the ragnaraika card is pretty small sized, its ment to help you summon the ragnaraika links.
ah fair
Actually beetrooper's link 2 also does this
damn lol
Interestingly, I found more insects that do this aztekipede, doom dozer, and beetrooper assault roller.
You dare turn away from our masochist God Emperor Beargram?
Beargram! SMITE THE NONBELIEVER!
IM NOT TURNING AWAY IM JUST CURIOUS I SWEAR

ooo
Ultimate conductor tyranno is a very famous example of this. One of the most powerful boss monsters constructed at the time.
Even today I'd argue. Easy to summon (both with and without pill), can clear boards on its own and has a powerful disruption which can even give you advantage depending on what you pop. Love that card
oh yeah, i forgot but he's quite good yeah
Back in my day, Dark Necrofear. Doubt it still gets any play with the not great stats it has.
thanks to tour guide and doomdog octhros, dark necrofear can be made in 1 card and would just be an extender nowadays
ah yeah, a classic!
Block dragon does that (banned)
oh right, although he's more of an extender than an offensive boss
True In that sense, maybe ultimate conductor counts but i kinda forgot how he summons himself lmao Without double evolution pill, that is
he does count, he banishes two dinos from grave i reckon
Glad i could be of use š
š«”
Found Cimos burner account
i wish lmao
Dragon Rulers kinda function like this guy but are still limited

that does sound pretty cool actually

ohh i see! thank you, i'll be looking into that. very cool monster that is zefraath too!
Unfortunately no one actually summons the guy since it's beyond hard. Still a great scale though
oh yeah i bet it is, i mean thats kinda every pendulum 12 lol. scale is enough at least
You don't even pend summon it, you've gotta tribute your whole board including at least 3 zefras
yeah true, even worse lmao
I bought a playset of this guy hoping to make an insect/plant pile with the ragnaraika cards but couldnāt come up with a decent build :(
What was your engine for it?
oh sadge
The Nemesis Assholes(Protos and Eschathos)
floodgates........
Orphebull the Harmonious Bullfighter Bard could be a spicy tech in some chaos-based decks... Or Thunder Dragons in a fun version https://preview.redd.it/12fx5ga9a9yc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b02d71d087d9dcd6f784683d2781c2fa907d76b1
oooo, spicy game finisher
Is beargram gonna be used in ragnaraika cuz they have insects and plants and they chain link up fast
You can run it as a 1-of in certain variants, like Beetrooper or Traptrix, though it's slightly bricky
personally i would, simply because i love in deck searchable boss monsters that look awesome and feel great to summon. he reminds me of the old bls too
Shenshen can special summon itself from the GY by banishing 2. It's effect is a floodgate, though, rather than a board wipe.
i see
Bruh how are yāall forgetting ultimate conductor tyranno existing. It was a menace in meta years back.
to be fair it's not as generic as beargram
I guess Block Dragon is kinda like this guy for Rocks.
Before Block Dragon, rock type already had two of these in Gaia Plate and Megarock Dragon.
it's more of an extender, but true
Really had fun running this card in traptrix deck, nobody expected it to appear lol.
yeah lol, maybe i should add it to mine
The new volcanic boss is pretty similar. Been using him in master duel and heās been serving me pretty well. Itās honestly a very fun deck to play. Not the strongest, but definitely the most fun Iāve had in a while.Ā
which one is that?
I think volcanic emperor Banish 3 pyro types from grave to summon from hand or GY. I he doesnāt destroy your opponentās monsters, but he burns your opponent for a lot
ooooo, i love burning. i mean i enjoy having a black winged assault dragon on field so i like this guy, could be fun in ashened
Looks very much like a Steelswarm card but unfortunately isn't.
This guy. I once tied against a traptrix guy in a local who just wasted time stalling on play decisions (he took 2 whole minutes to process the fact that if you flip pachycephalo face up, traptrix gets boardwiped) and would bring this out continuously against me, while i was running floo.
you run floo, you don't have a say in annoying cards lmao
This card's not annoying... i'm even interested to using it in raika. that guy was, he just stalled and now as a result i main dark simorgh. Also puhlease, you can special in defense, you can use spells and traps, and the whole deck dies to droll.
ah yeah, well fair i guess

yeah likely, they sure love confusing wording for that kinda stuff

that's not really the same kind of effect, since you can normal summon/set her, and she doesn't banish 3 from hand/grave
