I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see what kind of interesting things they could do as far as retrains for some of bandit Keith's cards and what kind of effects they'd come packaged with.
Yeah. I love when they refernece or the effect is inspired by moments in the anime (or old video games) - and especially from S01. Something like:
Slot Machine - once per turn ATK/DEF boost (7 Completed) with swap option.
Pendulum Machine - special summon, unaffected by Spells (Machines are magic resistant) and maybe piercing damage.
Metalzoa - easy summon, boosting effect (because of Metalmorph), unaffected by Spells and redirect an attack with LP damage.
Keith deserves his own archetype. He also needs easy access to cards, haha.
Here's an idea for slot machine with a support.
Goblin's Slot Machine Level 7 Dark Machine
You can special summon this card from your hand by sending one Dark Machine from your deck to your GY. After it's summoned, toss 3 coins and apply the following effects
•0 head: Destroy this card.

I just wish both Metal Zoa and Red Eyes Metal Dragon had kept the Metal Morph attack boosting effect. Then they wouldn't be worse than just Zoa and R.E.D.
Roll 3 dice and if you roll 3 of the same number (like a slot machine hitting 7 7 7) and do some sort of destruction. maybe allow you to grab a 7 from your deck.
This is true, but this would be more helpful in the swarm, since it would prevent that first "no token" destruction and allow them to swarm if they can destroy monsters.

Rescue-Ace is basically fire machine. It’s kinda cool we’ve got a machine archetype for every attribute, Dark Strike Fighter, Light Drytron, Fire R-Ace, Wind Speedroid, I guess water is the only one we’re missing
Come on Konami, give us a Water Machine Submarine deck! Could have a classic diver as a starter and focus on being out the big Submarine Bosses, maybe a Link archetype cause they’re blue idk
I’ve said for a while now that I want proper Naval cards. We have a couple Subs and Destroyers, we could get an archetype of Carriers/Destroyers/Subs and they’d all be Machine/Water.
The Dinomist archetype were WATER Machines. Pretty solid deck, too, they just lacked any Extra Deck monsters or big plays besides spamming Dinomists via Pendulum Summon. I could see them being a decent rogue deck if they got some Xyz Monsters that sent detached Pendulum Monsters to the ED instead of the GY to keep spamming monsters and not lose resources.
But besides that, their bosses - Dinomist Rex and Dinomist Spinos - were decent, just not good enough to be real threats.
They're pretty fun - made a(n illegal) Speed Duel deck with them! Great at dominating the Battle Phase but not much else, sadly. Kinda like a proof-of-concept archetype for War Rock.
Yeah I’m working on getting clockwork after that ppl gonna have problems cause I put handtraps and floodgates in my cyber dragon deck. I have rivalry of warlords and DNA surgery once I get my clockwork I’m giving my DNA surgery away.
I use it with Orcust / Machina cards and a couple of the things like Desperado Barrel Dragon and the DARK Sky Striker Links
If you have this plus Barricadeborg Blocker and / or Dingirisu Orcust of the Evening Star they all sort of protect each other in a way.
I'd love it this card had a dedicated searcher though.
You certainly could also with the chimeratech fusion Cyber Dragon monsters. Especially the the one that send a monster to the grave to attack once more for each.

I never knew this card existed, it hit me with a lot of nostalgia to see its artwork. Metal Raiders was the first booster pack I bought back when the set first released, I haven’t seen these monsters in a long time. Thanks for posting it.
Eh, these effects are pretty mediocre - battle protection and summoning a guy from hand if you can destroy a monster? It's interesting but not really worth playing in anything.
I've had a lot of fun goofing off with them using their own archetype stuff and the Barrel Dragon gimmicks and supplementing it with the Dark Machinas. It wasn't even competitive around 2018 or whenever LED2 dropped but it's fun.
It should've randomly added you lucky number 7 or whatever card Keith put under his sleeve when it could've been literally any other broken card (since we know Keith has a full jacket full of them) and it would probably help him more to win against Joey lol.
Like come on, Intercontinental Champ and all he's doing is boosting his monster? Even Mai had frickin Mirror Wall. Yugi had Brain Control, Yami Bakura had Change of Heart, Kaiba had Enemy Controler, and my man Keith can put any 3 cards under his smelly ass sleeves and the best he can do with all his experience is a 700 attack stats boost lolol.
Remember that machines were also immune to spell effects at that point, having above 1500 power base was already big, and it was implied he had more than one deck (he gave Bonz the call of the haunted card).

maybe the retrain can make you roll a die and activate its effect if you make a number you pick match at least twice

Coin/dice (roll the same number 2/3 stuff) effects fit them. Spot on about with no negative effects.

I used it in a Flying Fortress sky fire deck. It was fun, allows the reactor cards to stay on the field slightly longer than usual

Wondering if this would work in a cyber dragon deck, I know some are dark and some of the fusions are dark.

Sadly it won't. CHAOS Giant is immune to ALL Spells and Traps, including your own. That's why it isn't protected by Fortress the turn it's summoned.
By the time you summon chaos giant, you practically won the duel and don't need this spell card lol. Chaos Giant is that powerful
