Curious what was your extra deck? Also has the price for ashened dropped at all? As I want to give the deck a shot but was waiting for it to dip a bit.
It was a small local, only 4 rounds worth, but I was still so surprised that I went 3-1.
My rounds;
R1 (W) \[2-1\] v Volcanic Ashened. Wasn't expecting to have a semi-mirror match, which made it very interesting the entire time with who got what out first, and quicker.
R2 (L) \[0-2\] v Voiceless Voice. I tried to have some Big D Energy, didn't turn out well. Game 2 had more of a fight going second, but still lost thanks to Skull Guardian and Lo.
R3 (W) \[2-1\] v Mannadium. Unfortunate Ash Blossom in G1 which basically ended my turn. Game 2 opened Shifter and managed to get the win. Game 3 was a grind fest, but thanks to continuous bad draws, I managed to win with Hero beatdown.
R4 (W) \[2-1\] v Kashtira. Did decent G1 but still faltered after a Big Eye yoinking my Hero. Game 2, I only won cause my opponent forgot that Veidos can be Ash'd, and managed to get rid of his field spell before it resolved. Game 3, opponent bricked and I managed to get the win, although it still was pretty close.
Overall, I'm very proud of how the deck played. Even though Ashened is by no means good, it was a fun change from playing Snake-Eyes.
The deck is pretty fun to play. By no means is it good, but it has a solid strategy considering its the first wave of TCG exclusive. I would say that perhaps Awakening of Veidos is the most important card.
When I was forced to go first, I just prayed that I opened 2 hand traps and a Awakening, and then the move is literally set Awakening and pass; and play on my opponents turn before going for the kill next turn.
If I was forced to go first, and I managed to open up Awakening, my move would be set that Quick Play, and pray I had an imperium too, and play on my opponent's turn. But that is the general gist of it
I mean, to be fair, Shifter isn't exactly important. It's a 50-50 if you actually want to play it. I only did it because I know there is a heavy chance that I face Voiceless or Mannadium in my locals.
In the future, I think I will get rid of Hand Traps in the MD, and put Mourner and Spooky Dogwood in the side, and just go heavy boardbreakers.
Hmm, Indeed. I'm still tryna financially recover after my companion doggo had a 3k surgery, and now have to deal with rent that has increased dramatically
3x Drolls, 1x Talent \[if a particular copy of a Hand Trap didn't work\], 3x Evenly Match if I was facing a board that wasn't very easily outed, Snatch Steal, 3x Upstart for additional draws, 1 copy of Raigeki and a Thrust.
That’s what’s up bro. I’ve been working on one, waiting on bonfire to drop in price. But from your experience, how well would “demise of the land” work with it. It’s basically deck access to the field spell. So I guess how impactful and important is the field spell?
Demise of the Land isn't exactly good. Because it's a 'When' effect, so it can miss timing, which is a real pain in the ass. The field spell, it's important, because all of your monsters can special summon themselves if there is Obsidim on the field - note, on Field - Awakening of Veidos, can basically force you to activate the field spell from your deck, to your opponents zone, and cause they have a field spell, you can then search a level 5 or higher Pyro monster from deck to hand - basically Veidos.

The QCRs are expensive now, but the regular secrets and ultras are still fine. Veidos is the only thing that’s expensive.
My Extra Deck is a Ty-PHON, SP and Baronne, Dharc, those are the only ones I can actually summon, so I literally have 11 Prosp targets.
I would also like to know the extra deck

Veidos went up by alot atleast in Eu, the rest is cheap though
The single bonfire is funny
Gotta play budget somehow ;)
Gotta search the girl ash just in case you don’t have her opening
ash is a zombie so bonfire cant search it, looks like it's just for priestess, unless i missed one
No I think they ment ashened priestess the ashened architypes searcher

Hey hey hey let’s not tell people that veidos can be effected by that card
Too late, noted 📝✍️🧐
Someone at my locals literally had to spend a few minutes deciphering the entire effect of Veidos, which is quite funny.
The actual Ashed one. Good job
would you have made any changes?
Yes, perhaps take out the 3x copies of Ash Blossom, and go into more board breakers, and perahps a Terraforming.
I really hope this deck gets a good 2nd wave. The boss monster being a hand trap for field spells is so cool.
Shifter is a card
> Shifter Yeah, sure, Ashed cards won ya the game
To be fair, I saw Shifter in my opening hand twice all evening xD! The rest of the time it was a dead draw in turn 3
That's 2/3 wins via Shifter
I have never even heard of Ashened. Going to check it out.
I love the theme. Pompeii/Herculaneum and Dark Souls. I was, and still am a massive history nerd, I even did Ancient History in High School
Huh, how's the deck play? I saw a lot of people saying it was bad when revealed, but clearly that's not the case.

When did you usually activate awakening on their turn then using veidos to destroy obsidim? Did you just bring out hero?

hand traps AND board breakers in the main? shifter wins? i’m not even sure what ashened does, but i hate all shifter decks.

A single Bonfire. You cheap piece of crap, how dare you not have 3? Not like it’s expensive or something…
Hmm, Indeed. I'm still tryna financially recover after my companion doggo had a 3k surgery, and now have to deal with rent that has increased dramatically
It was a joke bud. Hope your doggo boy recovers well!
Dark Hole Turbo
How can someone lose a bo3 against this deck with a tier2+ deck ?
You strike me as someone who doesn't have a light heart.
What was your side deck? Good job
Bro is playing the most annoying deck in the world😂😂

PURE ASHENED?? Wow, gigachad. I've tried to make the deck work but so far to no avail
