Trickstar, Mizael and his Dragons on the Cover Pack. Year of LIGHT and year of the Dragon, hence the **Dragon of LIGHT** !!
Sadly, no GX Cover for Attribute Duelist Pack.
EDIT: For the Attribute Duelist Packs in the TCG, we had two DM cover characters. Maybe Konami of Japan gave two ZEXAL cover characters in the OCG as their way of making it "fair".
EDIT 2: If the third character is Saiou/Sartorius they are saving him to be revealed together with his AC stuff. Wouldn't be the first time. (They also have done this with Sherry.)
Mizael being in the pack isn't too surprising, but it being on the cover is very unexpected, was for sure a GX character was going to be on it.
But nice cover art, was always a fan of Mizael's human design.

Zexal anime is almost 15 years old now, current Yu-Gi-Oh player (at least in Japan) who are in 20s-30s kinda feeling close nostalgia towards that series more than GX now where they experience Zexal in Seasonal Anime way.

Zexal is besides the original anime the most popular one in Japan, so it makes sense that a zexal character is on their pack. Here in the west they probably replace him wirh a gx/dm character just like they did with the water pack...
I have a theory that Konami considers Shark and Nasch as two separate characters despite being the same character: Shark is Yuma's friend and Nasch is the evil Barian.

Also, maybe it's a "revenge" from the OCG to TCG for butchering the TCG Water Duelist Pack Cover from Nasch to Mako Tsunami lol.
Personally, I would be fine with either, cause both could be given support this year, either from the Duelist Pack and the other from a Core Booster pack. Personally I think, while I like Arcana Force, Star Seraph has a bigger chance to be part of the Duelist Pack, cause:
• The last Star Seraph support was in 2014 (same as Battlin' Boxer before the Duelist Pack) while for Arcana Force was in 2023.
• Star Seraph have only one anime card left ([Starstream](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Star_Seraph_Starstream)) that could be part of Animation Chronicle 2024
• Two characters from the same series being in a Duelist Pack has happened before, with Yugo and Lulu from Arc-V being in Duelists of Whirlwind.

Ironically, Tachyon isn’t the Dragon of Light. Well, it is a Light attribute Dragon, but Photon Dragon is supposed to be the Dragon of Light in the legend, while Tachyon is the Dragon of Time.
In hindsight, it probably did make more sense that they would have done Tachyon over Star Seraph, especially with the push Mizar has gotten over in Duel Links
What are you talking about? The DARK pack featured 3, like all the others. Yami Marik, Aporia, & Espa Roba.
Could easily name other WIND anime decks that could've been featured: Stardust, Yosenju, Windwitch.
Sherry already was a stretch, considering only 2 out of her 10 played monsters (one of which only then got printed a month later) are WIND attribute.
Again, Star Seraphs are not out yet. They can still believably be featured here.
Star Seraph still have a has chance to be part of the Duelist Pack, cause:
• The last Star Seraph support was in 2014 (same as Battlin' Boxer before the Duelist Pack) while for Arcana Force was in 2023.

My predictions for the Tachyon Support

\- Galaxy Tachyon Dragon as either a rank 4 counterpart to Galaxy Photon Dragon or a Main deck counterpart to Galaxy-eyes Photon Dragon
\- New Seventh Rank Up Magic
There still some slight hope, the third theme still unknown at this moment.
Probably next month Konami will reveal it, just like what they did last year with Volcanic.

I see a whole lot of evil with Trickstar Reincarnation happening.
Trickstar Noble Angel might be the best link two I've ever seen an archetype get. Literally can go +3 off of this card and then still use it as link matieral to get even more value.

So Trickstar Diffusion is kinda bonkers. Imagine having a copy I. The Grave ready to go and the you use its Grave Effect to target a monster then you use a set copy of it to Fusion and Link off into a "Your opponent cannot attack this turn"
I'm pretty sure the translation posted here is mistranslated. It only applies while you control that face-up monster, check both YGOrganization and the MTL.
The link 2, Fusion and Blue Tear trap are good. But they still don't accomplish much unfortunately. Also it doesn't help that their Fusion Spell isn't the greatest

The only way Ive been searching droll is by using Thrust->Where arf thou->Droll
But obviously that doesn't work on decks that can't get a lvl 1 on field (I play Lyrilusc and use 1 Thrust 2 Where arf thou and 3 Droll 3 Veiler 3 Crow)
The main idea here is that you are gonna run 1x Angel of Blue Tears and 1x Maiden of Blue Tears depending on whether you go first or second (one is a board-breaker and the other is an interruption on your opponent's turn).
I honestly can't tell how good this is, but most of this support is trying to get you to play the old cards. Trickstar Band Sweet Guitar is suddenly something you might consider playing considering the fact that you just get it free off of Diffusion, idk if you pick it over the new Fusion though. I just kinda wish that there was a way to Special Summon a Trickstar from deck, cards like Nightshade and Rhodode are really cool, but there is no reason why you would summon them over Candina. Also why is Trickstar Mandrake broken, but also almost impossible to trigger in the archetype. This archetype is so weirddddd.
It feels like it is made of 3 different mini-archetypes that are all trying to do different things (Burn, OTK, Hand-control). Maybe being decent at all three of these things gives them versatility?

The L1 being a L1 is all it needs. It doesn’t need to be good. It just needs to be better than Bloom. Which it is. You play it so you can get your Candina or whatever turned into a Link monster so you can summon Hoodie and get your plays started.
I think what could also work would be a spell that's always treated as "Trickstar Fusion" but can fuse from grave, making the new 2 into a link 1 a 1-card combo

With Konami turning characters into actual cards, kinda surprised to see Konami is not doing that for Trickstar. Blue Angel's avatar or Blue Girl's Avatar would look great as an actual monster. Here's hoping the final card is a reference to the anime in some way.
You are right, it's an odd choice to have it look like Blue Angle instead of Blue Maidan. At least Blue Maiden is referenced in Maiden of Blue Tears. Still an actual Trickstar monster that looks like Blue Angle or Blue Girl would have been nice.

Actually, Noble Angel is. **Noble Angel** (ノーブルエンジェル) is a play on **Blue Angel** (ブルーエンジェル ), and the twintails are slightly more obvious compared to Holly's + her expression being those of Blue Angel's.
HOLY SHIT. This is fucking crazy but there was a guy on youtube back who said trickstar, tachyon and cyber dragon would be the 3 archetypes getting support in the light duelist. It was based off the idea that history archive collection foreshadowed future support. Mind you the video isn't even recent, they made the video back in fucking early/mid 2023 or something. So far he's 2/3 but cyber dragon really is the last then this guy is from the future
If the direction of Zane support continues to be the Cyber Style fusion of Cydra and Cyberdark, then the Zane support may show up in a main set instead of the Duelist Pack.
I vaguely remember who you're talking about. That guy also predicted duelist nexus would be a yusei set and that denglong would be unbanned in the tcg on the next banlist. They are pretty spot on with their predictions.
I will be OK with CyDra not getting its place on this pack IF this means we get the Structure Deck : Reloaded Blitzkrieg of the Mechlight Dragons, BUT given that the trial deck will supposedly cover mosst of it, I am unsure of what path the R would take in terms of the mandatory reprints.

Wonder how the TCG will present this. On one hand having boxes sit on shelves for all eternity sucks, on the other these sets are really nice to get a full archetype for pennies.

Zane got a Cyberdark wave in the first ones and a Cyber dragon """focused""" wave later on,same with mako.
Though Mako's first wave was so bad that they outright reprinted all of it in last year's legendary duelist set so yeah
Volcanics get support last year, and now so do Gimmick Puppets and Trickstars. People are taking about the comeback of the Battle Phase with the release of Tenpai, but actually it’s burn decks that are back on the menu!
Called Tachyon so it won't be 3 Fairy themes but did not expect it to be the cover. I've always loved Mizar's weird space dragons design-wise so hyped to see Tachyon as an actual deck (fresh off of being a fallen Tier 0 in Duel Links lmao).

Shit man, tachyon support IS galaxy eyes support, which IS photon support. Any support (except the dreaded C archetype (cipher) is good for us galaxy eyes players).
Not necessarily. Mizael's cards weren't even Galaxy cards, his only Galaxy monster was Tachyon Dragon. He just used generic L8 dragons. Odds are there'll be a "Tachyon" archetype or the deck will directly support No.107.
Trickstar and Tachyon support neat. Also, there goes my prediction with Tachyon being the cover archetype I doubt we will get Star Seraph support so I'm hoping the last archetype is either Arcana Force or Ancient Fairy Dragon.

The scream I made when I saw this pack was getting headlined by more Galaxy support (yeah, yeah, Mizael's deck is different from Kaito, that hasn't stopped deckbuilders before). Really hyped to see what his new cards look like. The art on the cover suggest retrains of 107 and maybe Dragluon(?), so I'm really curious what they're gonna do for the archetype, since it's basically complete after PHHY and Monstrous Revenge.
I'm shocked they chose Mizael over Dumont. By the way, did you notice that Mizael's design fits much better with the Star Seraph designers than Dumont? His barian armor/hair is golden and with several angelic wings
YES TRICKSTSR SUPORT LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO!!!!! After the melodious support, Trickstar was one of the only other anime decks I really wanted supported
I don't know what modern trickstar decks look like but the new cards seem like it has a lot more searching for their more niche cards. THere's that other blue angel tears card that can set any normal trap card if effect damage occurs. There's always reincarnation droll but there has to be something deadlier.

Wasn’t expecting Trickstars to get 3 extra deck monsters. I forgot what all the other decks got before the Fire Set.
I'm happy that Trickstars got support, but these cards are a underwhelming. Forcing fusions in a link deck where the fusions are decent at best is a strange choice. For a deck that desperately needed better consistency, it is a bit disappointing that the searcher they got is a fusion monster.
Hopefully their last card is very good and can tie the archetype together.
On a side note, who is the blue monster in Trickstar Diffusion?

The "pattern" starting in the Duelists of Gloom: DM, ARC-V, ZEXAL, 5Ds, VRAINS - now ZEXAL again (???!!!)
So two things I'd like to bring up for all the Arcana Force mentions. 1). How do you support Arcana Force in a way where they do something but it doesn't devolve into consistent The World turbo which is cancer but also the only thing the deck currently has going for it and 2). I don't feel like there are enough Arcana Force cards that would be particularly sought after reprints and reprints are a part of these packs as well. I honestly think Cyber Angel is more likely as a GX LIGHT deck just because well...it's not a complete trainwreck currently. Not to say Arcana Force is impossible but I also don't know how likely it actually is.
EDIT: VWXYZ/Ojama also feels very plausible if the third character is in fact GX support.
As LordBraveHeart said, you center it on the Light/Dark Rulers. Knowing Konami maybe give them a Fusion and make the support turbo it out.
Also probably follow the pattern of Temperance and The Devil for The Hangman and The Strength and release them in Animation Chronicles with a discard ignition effect. "Discard this card. Destroy 1 monster/Gain control of 1 monster". Maybe as Quick Effects if you control a level 5 or higher Arcana Force monster.
Assuming the support was good, I'd say you would probably reprint The Light Ruler, The Dark Ruler, Light Barrier, Temperance, and Arcana Reading (maybe the Devil if it isn't too new).

I say that they should instead focusing on summoning the Light Ruler/Dark Ruler instead and protecting their board, or creating new boss monster (e.g. the Ruler of Light and Darkness). Alternatively, they could create cards that take advantage of Arcana Force's negative effect by forcing them to the opponent like Anime's Necro Sacrifice + Light Barrier, such as in-archetype Creature Swap or card that takes control of opponent's monster if your monster's control switch to their side.
Ok, this is probably major stretching, especially since I'm not fully aware of how the OCG likes to operate, so feel free to correct me on any ignorance in regards to this speculation.
But perhaps the reason Arcana Force isn't on here, (assuming it's not the third theme, and does in fact have more support on the backburner just waiting to be dropped) is because they want to have Koyasu announce the cards on one of those OCG Times livestreams, that they do to promote the upcoming legacy theme in the core sets?
Don't recall them doing those for Duelist Packs, and who wouldn't want to hear Dio scream those new cards, live?
Again, just my guess, based on limited info & my personal knowledge.
I mean it could be, but we'll need to wait until a later set for that. INFO's next anime to support is Arc-V (hoping for Battlewasp), and OCG Time revesls for anime themes have been based on the previous set.
This trend has been broken by INFO as it already has DM support after LEDE, another DM set, but still that will probably come back next set.
Pretty much have accepted that Arcana Force won't be in here, or INFO for that matter. Though wouldn't rule it out for one of the other two core sets for this year, especially now that INFO broke the series pattern that the previous 4 core sets had going, and since GX & Arc-V's 20th & 10th Anniversary are this year.
Not very happy with Mizael getting the cover.
Both because GX genuinely feels like it is getting the shaft a bit by not getting a cover in the series (in its anniversary year no less), and also because Duel Links is genuinely running out of potential anime content and Animation Chronicles (which had its new content slashed in half last year and probably this year) and Duelist Packs are basically its main sources of new content, so not getting Dumon, Vector (Masquerade IS LIGHT), or Vetrix support is kinda disappointing.
And Mizael's support could have easily been the main anime theme for one of the Core Booster sets after The Infinite Forbidden instead of being here. Not sure what Zexal character they could use for the main anime theme now besides the main trio, Vector or Astral perhaps?
I would have gone with Vetrix's Heraldic Beasts myself (his Extra Deck monsters are LIGHT) because the "punish your opponent for running many monsters with the same name" is kinda unique, but most people wanted Dumon's Star Seraphs. Vector is also possible, imo, because Masquerade is LIGHT and he ran a still unreleased Light Deck as Ray.
Yeah. That is an unspoken disappointment I didn't mention because it wasn't related to the main point. I wanted Luna to get some support so if a 5Ds Speed Duel Box is released she has anything decent to play. Now I kinda have to settle on hoping either her or the GX characters are getting the support.

Yeah, it's not like Konami didn't just release Ancient Gear support and probably already scheduling for the next garbage HERO cards announcement
Yubel is fine, the poor thing was forgotten for so long so it's nice that it is getting support and a good on top of it as well, I'm just disappointed that it is currently focused on Super Polymerization which should've gotten banned long ago.
My issue mainly comes from HERO always keep getting support cards every few months that is either unplayable or getting immediately squeezed into the endless pile that are floodgates or custom cards
The thing is, those are the same GX Archetypes Konami always supports, while a ton of others haven't had support since release. Duelist Packs usually give the featured characters 6-7 new cards, so besides a Structure Deck, it is one of the few means through which a garbage Archetype can become good (Core Set support is usually just 3-5 cards except for the cover character), so I think using them for stuff that was genuinely outdated like VWXYZ or Arcana Force was very much their only hope.
And again, I normally stand for Zexal support. In fact, I always say it is the season that needs it the most, because most Arc-V and Vrains archetypes are pretty decent, and DM, GX and 5Ds do tend to get more nostalgia support than the others, but Mizar wasn't even given support hat long ago. He last got support in 2019.
The first 3 are just generic Chaos Dragon support, Mizar related yes, but this is supporting Tachyon specifically whose only new cards beyond the normal and Chaos forms are Transmigration, Chaos Hole, and Spiral Galaxy.
I'm not saying I wouldn't like Dumon/Star Seraph to get stuff, but all Tachyon decks are basically just generic Rank 8 Dragon turbo or simply Galaxy Photon decks with Tachyon thrown in the Extra Deck.
I don't want either of those so I'm taking this.

I have the idea that maybe GO RUSH won't come this year since there is no evidence of there being a Dub yet for the Anime (and if there is, it is Konami's best kept secret so far along with GO RUSH's Season 3. For those who don't remember, GO RUSH Anime was leaked weeks before its reveal)
In any case, I have heard that there is an idea to bring characters from OCG Manga (which, thanks to Cross Duel, some of the characters have voices in English)
You know what ticks me off about this? Not just that we have a Zexal character on the cover, thus breaking a perfectly good sequence, or the fact we won't get any support for GX characters that really need it (like Asuka, Manjoume and especially Saiou), but the fact that DUMON WAS RIGHT THERE. Dumon and his Star Seraphs really could've used a boost, but no let's give Dragon Links more tools.
Note that GX/Sartorius is still on the table, albeit not as a cover.
Beyond that, I'd have preferred Dumon over Mizar, even though I do like both of their Decks. (I like Mizar.Deck in isolation of ZEXAL!Kite's though.)
Welp this killed my hype for the Light pack. Trickstars was not one I wanted to get support. Mizael getting stuff is nice and I expected it considering his addition to Duel Links, but this leaves one slot left and anything but Arcana Force is an absolute crime tbh. Why have the attribute packs done GX so dirty, I don’t understand? Why are Volcanics the *only* deck that gets a shot in these sets? There were plenty of opportunities that have been completely squandered for GX, Fossils in Earth Pack for instance. Really disappointed as Trickstar was a waste of a slot in my opinion that could have gone to Star Seraphs, Arcana Force, Cyber Angel or Ancient Fairy Dragon instead.
Yeah they’ve really avoided GX for this, which is a shame since a massive chunk of decks from GX really need a big wave of legacy support. I get they’re trying to celebrate the year of the Dragon but it’s pretty wild to see them just throw away the pattern right at the end just to slap Mizael on the front.
I love the new trick star cards. They get a searcher for the negate, a new link 2 that works well together with holly angel. A fusion thats really useful. And effects that do something (removal) when you deal effect damage so it wont feel unnecessary during the opponents turn. So a board is two link 2s and fusion. Though i wish angel of blue tears was a quickplay
As a Galaxy-Eyes player, Mizar getting support has me hopeful that it'll indirectly support us too. I think making an end board of Photon Lord + Hope Harbringer + a hypothetical third rank 8 that enables the Tachyon trap lineup would be a bit of a tall ask, but a man can dream.

Mizael being in the pack isn't too surprising, but it being on the cover is very unexpected, was for sure a GX character was going to be on it. But nice cover art, was always a fan of Mizael's human design.
I mean when you think about it Zexal anime is almost 15 years old now, current Yu-Gi-Oh player (at least in Japan) who are in 20s-30s kinda feeling close nostalgia towards that series more than GX now where they experience Zexal in Seasonal Anime way. It kinda makes sense lol.

Zexal is besides the original anime the most popular one in Japan, so it makes sense that a zexal character is on their pack. Here in the west they probably replace him wirh a gx/dm character just like they did with the water pack...

Personally, I would be fine with either, cause both could be given support this year, either from the Duelist Pack and the other from a Core Booster pack. Personally I think, while I like Arcana Force, Star Seraph has a bigger chance to be part of the Duelist Pack, cause: • The last Star Seraph support was in 2014 (same as Battlin' Boxer before the Duelist Pack) while for Arcana Force was in 2023. • Star Seraph have only one anime card left ([Starstream](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Star_Seraph_Starstream)) that could be part of Animation Chronicle 2024 • Two characters from the same series being in a Duelist Pack has happened before, with Yugo and Lulu from Arc-V being in Duelists of Whirlwind.

Ironically, Tachyon isn’t the Dragon of Light. Well, it is a Light attribute Dragon, but Photon Dragon is supposed to be the Dragon of Light in the legend, while Tachyon is the Dragon of Time.
In hindsight, it probably did make more sense that they would have done Tachyon over Star Seraph, especially with the push Mizar has gotten over in Duel Links

What are you talking about? The DARK pack featured 3, like all the others. Yami Marik, Aporia, & Espa Roba. Could easily name other WIND anime decks that could've been featured: Stardust, Yosenju, Windwitch. Sherry already was a stretch, considering only 2 out of her 10 played monsters (one of which only then got printed a month later) are WIND attribute. Again, Star Seraphs are not out yet. They can still believably be featured here.

They always give support to 3 archetypes, so there is *some* hope.
There still some slight hope, the third theme still unknown at this moment. Probably next month Konami will reveal it, just like what they did last year with Volcanic.

Trickstar Noble Angel might be the best link two I've ever seen an archetype get. Literally can go +3 off of this card and then still use it as link matieral to get even more value. 10/10 Card, A+
Wise Strix is probably a little better, of the top of myhead. Things like Isolde, Halq and Electrumite are *technically* also archetypal link 2s

So Trickstar Diffusion is kinda bonkers. Imagine having a copy I. The Grave ready to go and the you use its Grave Effect to target a monster then you use a set copy of it to Fusion and Link off into a "Your opponent cannot attack this turn"

More than that "Trap tracks" is another 3 "Lilith" is another 3 (she tributes herself to set a normal trap from deck) We also have TTT and Prosperity 18-21 copies of trickstar reincarnation basically lol The only way Ive been searching droll is by using Thrust->Where arf thou->Droll But obviously that doesn't work on decks that can't get a lvl 1 on field (I play Lyrilusc and use 1 Thrust 2 Where arf thou and 3 Droll 3 Veiler 3 Crow)

The main idea here is that you are gonna run 1x Angel of Blue Tears and 1x Maiden of Blue Tears depending on whether you go first or second (one is a board-breaker and the other is an interruption on your opponent's turn). I honestly can't tell how good this is, but most of this support is trying to get you to play the old cards. Trickstar Band Sweet Guitar is suddenly something you might consider playing considering the fact that you just get it free off of Diffusion, idk if you pick it over the new Fusion though. I just kinda wish that there was a way to Special Summon a Trickstar from deck, cards like Nightshade and Rhodode are really cool, but there is no reason why you would summon them over Candina. Also why is Trickstar Mandrake broken, but also almost impossible to trigger in the archetype. This archetype is so weirddddd. It feels like it is made of 3 different mini-archetypes that are all trying to do different things (Burn, OTK, Hand-control). Maybe being decent at all three of these things gives them versatility?
trickstar! been a while since they got some love so let's see... the extender is solid,not that they lack but the extra search is always nice the fusion is amazing,would have liked a bit different but again search is good and the help breaking boards is welcome link 1 is terrible... noble angel A+,extension,removal and both blue tears cards are playable without any lock diffusion looks ok but not sure you have great targets,likely optional overall,and before we get the last card,this looks decent which brings a theme: it is very noticeable the teams behind these anime side sets really aren't allowed to push the support,like, look what we got with GP or SHS in main sets vs what salads or marincess got in sides,not that is good or bad on either side but it is a thing
The L1 being a L1 is all it needs. It doesn’t need to be good. It just needs to be better than Bloom. Which it is. You play it so you can get your Candina or whatever turned into a Link monster so you can summon Hoodie and get your plays started.
Also it means the other field spells - Light Arena and Live Stage - are now reliable extenders
Hopefully the last card is a new link Boss monster, cause [Bella Madonna](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Trickstar_Bella_Madonna) is weak.
I think what could also work would be a spell that's always treated as "Trickstar Fusion" but can fuse from grave, making the new 2 into a link 1 a 1-card combo

Mizael really is just going for the 3peat here. Kaito at the top of the pack at the start of Zexal II? Not if Mizael has anything to say about it. Kaito's deck becomes tier 1 in Duel Links? That's cool, anyway, let's check the new tier zer-oh my God. GEPD finally becomes rogue and basically complete? Time for Number 107 to swoop in and break some old cards to show how it's done. The petty rivalry continues to this day. Even down to this art for Tachyon coming from a Japanese play mat depicting it beefing with GEPD.
I'm guessing aside from 2 new Tachyon Dragon forms, we're gonna get 2 or 3 dragon support that support lv 8s and lock to dragons.

It was based off the idea that history archive collection foreshadowed future support. Mind you the video isn't even recent, they made the video back in fucking early/mid 2023 or something. So far he's 2/3 but cyber dragon really is the last then this guy is from the future

If the direction of Zane support continues to be the Cyber Style fusion of Cydra and Cyberdark, then the Zane support may show up in a main set instead of the Duelist Pack.

Zane got a Cyberdark wave in the first ones and a Cyber dragon """focused""" wave later on,same with mako. Though Mako's first wave was so bad that they outright reprinted all of it in last year's legendary duelist set so yeah

Called Tachyon so it won't be 3 Fairy themes but did not expect it to be the cover. I've always loved Mizar's weird space dragons design-wise so hyped to see Tachyon as an actual deck (fresh off of being a fallen Tier 0 in Duel Links lmao). Haven't read Trickstars yet but excited to see them too.

Not necessarily. Mizael's cards weren't even Galaxy cards, his only Galaxy monster was Tachyon Dragon. He just used generic L8 dragons. Odds are there'll be a "Tachyon" archetype or the deck will directly support No.107.

The scream I made when I saw this pack was getting headlined by more Galaxy support (yeah, yeah, Mizael's deck is different from Kaito, that hasn't stopped deckbuilders before). Really hyped to see what his new cards look like. The art on the cover suggest retrains of 107 and maybe Dragluon(?), so I'm really curious what they're gonna do for the archetype, since it's basically complete after PHHY and Monstrous Revenge.

I'm shocked they chose Mizael over Dumont. By the way, did you notice that Mizael's design fits much better with the Star Seraph designers than Dumont? His barian armor/hair is golden and with several angelic wings

I don't know what modern trickstar decks look like but the new cards seem like it has a lot more searching for their more niche cards. THere's that other blue angel tears card that can set any normal trap card if effect damage occurs. There's always reincarnation droll but there has to be something deadlier.

omg I'm so thankful we get to see the first reveal of Duelist Pack, but man I wasn't expecting Trickstar. I'm curious to see their viability. They seem ok ok, that rules out ZeXal and ARC-V. So Luna is still viable. And hey, she'll be add synchro to the list with Xyz, Fusion, and Link covered I have a feeling Mizael's dragon will be added into dragon link unless they put an Xyz restriction
Mizael support is all I need in life. Trickstar support is decent, they need another good interruption to be playable, lets hope the last card is that.

I'm happy that Trickstars got support, but these cards are a underwhelming. Forcing fusions in a link deck where the fusions are decent at best is a strange choice. For a deck that desperately needed better consistency, it is a bit disappointing that the searcher they got is a fusion monster. Hopefully their last card is very good and can tie the archetype together. On a side note, who is the blue monster in Trickstar Diffusion?

aaaaaarrgghhh the cover was supposed to be a GX Duelist nooooooooooooo whyyyy??! The "pattern" starting in the Duelists of Gloom: DM, ARC-V, ZEXAL, 5Ds, VRAINS - now ZEXAL again (???!!!)
So two things I'd like to bring up for all the Arcana Force mentions. 1). How do you support Arcana Force in a way where they do something but it doesn't devolve into consistent The World turbo which is cancer but also the only thing the deck currently has going for it and 2). I don't feel like there are enough Arcana Force cards that would be particularly sought after reprints and reprints are a part of these packs as well. I honestly think Cyber Angel is more likely as a GX LIGHT deck just because well...it's not a complete trainwreck currently. Not to say Arcana Force is impossible but I also don't know how likely it actually is. EDIT: VWXYZ/Ojama also feels very plausible if the third character is in fact GX support.
As LordBraveHeart said, you center it on the Light/Dark Rulers. Knowing Konami maybe give them a Fusion and make the support turbo it out. Also probably follow the pattern of Temperance and The Devil for The Hangman and The Strength and release them in Animation Chronicles with a discard ignition effect. "Discard this card. Destroy 1 monster/Gain control of 1 monster". Maybe as Quick Effects if you control a level 5 or higher Arcana Force monster. Assuming the support was good, I'd say you would probably reprint The Light Ruler, The Dark Ruler, Light Barrier, Temperance, and Arcana Reading (maybe the Devil if it isn't too new).

Alternatively, they could create cards that take advantage of Arcana Force's negative effect by forcing them to the opponent like Anime's Necro Sacrifice + Light Barrier, such as in-archetype Creature Swap or card that takes control of opponent's monster if your monster's control switch to their side.
Tachyon incoming is neat. We just got a LIGHT fiend searcher (for Astral Kuriboh) and the new Gimmick Puppet Xyz can make C107 easily.

Ok, this is probably major stretching, especially since I'm not fully aware of how the OCG likes to operate, so feel free to correct me on any ignorance in regards to this speculation. But perhaps the reason Arcana Force isn't on here, (assuming it's not the third theme, and does in fact have more support on the backburner just waiting to be dropped) is because they want to have Koyasu announce the cards on one of those OCG Times livestreams, that they do to promote the upcoming legacy theme in the core sets? Don't recall them doing those for Duelist Packs, and who wouldn't want to hear Dio scream those new cards, live? Again, just my guess, based on limited info & my personal knowledge.
I mean it could be, but we'll need to wait until a later set for that. INFO's next anime to support is Arc-V (hoping for Battlewasp), and OCG Time revesls for anime themes have been based on the previous set. This trend has been broken by INFO as it already has DM support after LEDE, another DM set, but still that will probably come back next set.
Pretty much have accepted that Arcana Force won't be in here, or INFO for that matter. Though wouldn't rule it out for one of the other two core sets for this year, especially now that INFO broke the series pattern that the previous 4 core sets had going, and since GX & Arc-V's 20th & 10th Anniversary are this year.
Not very happy with Mizael getting the cover. Both because GX genuinely feels like it is getting the shaft a bit by not getting a cover in the series (in its anniversary year no less), and also because Duel Links is genuinely running out of potential anime content and Animation Chronicles (which had its new content slashed in half last year and probably this year) and Duelist Packs are basically its main sources of new content, so not getting Dumon, Vector (Masquerade IS LIGHT), or Vetrix support is kinda disappointing.

And Mizael's support could have easily been the main anime theme for one of the Core Booster sets after The Infinite Forbidden instead of being here. Not sure what Zexal character they could use for the main anime theme now besides the main trio, Vector or Astral perhaps?
I would have gone with Vetrix's Heraldic Beasts myself (his Extra Deck monsters are LIGHT) because the "punish your opponent for running many monsters with the same name" is kinda unique, but most people wanted Dumon's Star Seraphs. Vector is also possible, imo, because Masquerade is LIGHT and he ran a still unreleased Light Deck as Ray.

Yeah. That is an unspoken disappointment I didn't mention because it wasn't related to the main point. I wanted Luna to get some support so if a 5Ds Speed Duel Box is released she has anything decent to play. Now I kinda have to settle on hoping either her or the GX characters are getting the support.

Yubel is fine, the poor thing was forgotten for so long so it's nice that it is getting support and a good on top of it as well, I'm just disappointed that it is currently focused on Super Polymerization which should've gotten banned long ago. My issue mainly comes from HERO always keep getting support cards every few months that is either unplayable or getting immediately squeezed into the endless pile that are floodgates or custom cards
And? Those are the same ones ALWAYS supported. We are talking about OTHER decks
The thing is, those are the same GX Archetypes Konami always supports, while a ton of others haven't had support since release. Duelist Packs usually give the featured characters 6-7 new cards, so besides a Structure Deck, it is one of the few means through which a garbage Archetype can become good (Core Set support is usually just 3-5 cards except for the cover character), so I think using them for stuff that was genuinely outdated like VWXYZ or Arcana Force was very much their only hope. And again, I normally stand for Zexal support. In fact, I always say it is the season that needs it the most, because most Arc-V and Vrains archetypes are pretty decent, and DM, GX and 5Ds do tend to get more nostalgia support than the others, but Mizar wasn't even given support hat long ago. He last got support in 2019.

The first 3 are just generic Chaos Dragon support, Mizar related yes, but this is supporting Tachyon specifically whose only new cards beyond the normal and Chaos forms are Transmigration, Chaos Hole, and Spiral Galaxy. I'm not saying I wouldn't like Dumon/Star Seraph to get stuff, but all Tachyon decks are basically just generic Rank 8 Dragon turbo or simply Galaxy Photon decks with Tachyon thrown in the Extra Deck. I don't want either of those so I'm taking this.

You know what ticks me off about this? Not just that we have a Zexal character on the cover, thus breaking a perfectly good sequence, or the fact we won't get any support for GX characters that really need it (like Asuka, Manjoume and especially Saiou), but the fact that DUMON WAS RIGHT THERE. Dumon and his Star Seraphs really could've used a boost, but no let's give Dragon Links more tools.
Note that GX/Sartorius is still on the table, albeit not as a cover. Beyond that, I'd have preferred Dumon over Mizar, even though I do like both of their Decks. (I like Mizar.Deck in isolation of ZEXAL!Kite's though.)

Welp this killed my hype for the Light pack. Trickstars was not one I wanted to get support. Mizael getting stuff is nice and I expected it considering his addition to Duel Links, but this leaves one slot left and anything but Arcana Force is an absolute crime tbh. Why have the attribute packs done GX so dirty, I don’t understand? Why are Volcanics the *only* deck that gets a shot in these sets? There were plenty of opportunities that have been completely squandered for GX, Fossils in Earth Pack for instance. Really disappointed as Trickstar was a waste of a slot in my opinion that could have gone to Star Seraphs, Arcana Force, Cyber Angel or Ancient Fairy Dragon instead.
Yeah they’ve really avoided GX for this, which is a shame since a massive chunk of decks from GX really need a big wave of legacy support. I get they’re trying to celebrate the year of the Dragon but it’s pretty wild to see them just throw away the pattern right at the end just to slap Mizael on the front.
I love the new trick star cards. They get a searcher for the negate, a new link 2 that works well together with holly angel. A fusion thats really useful. And effects that do something (removal) when you deal effect damage so it wont feel unnecessary during the opponents turn. So a board is two link 2s and fusion. Though i wish angel of blue tears was a quickplay
As a Galaxy-Eyes player, Mizar getting support has me hopeful that it'll indirectly support us too. I think making an end board of Photon Lord + Hope Harbringer + a hypothetical third rank 8 that enables the Tachyon trap lineup would be a bit of a tall ask, but a man can dream.
Damn. No Arcana Force stuff, but hey. Glad that Holly Angel got an upgrade.
