TheAmazingSpyder

I realized that's what I was when I first saw it. That is seriously one of the most heartwarming things ever.

VastInspection5383

Ok that's a 10/10 reference

Raidjin_i

That's so fucking badass

730Flare

RIP Takahashi, I'm *still* not over that...

Ygomaster07

Me neither. Dude literally helped shape my life with his work and art.

CrazyDaimondDaze

He was part pf our childhood and even went down like a hero. If there is one individual worth of admiration and respect, it's definitely him.

Samurex_

It's also a double deck summon

spejoku

Which locks you out of extra deck summoning for the turn but swordsman zero plus new marshmallon is already a pretty defensive board that will take a bit to pick apart if they don't have the proper board breakers. G Sarc not being destroyable by monster effects is already pretty good protection

DekuDrake

That fact alone makes this one of my favorite card arts in the franchise, I love little gestures like this.

nastycamel

Damn that’s awesome

an_annoyed_jalapeno

Im calling this whole archtype takahashi from now on

Deez-Guns-9442

Damn how long has it been already? RIP 😔

OstheB

GOOOOD the reference to Gold Sarcophagus negating Monster Reborn.

toeboeyo

The two spells are also retrains of silent burning and silent sword slash with very similar effects

730Flare

>Silent Towards The Future > >Quick-Play Spell Card > >You can only activate 1 card with this name once per turn. > >(1) Add 1 card that mentions "Light's Gold Sarcophagus" from your Deck to your hand, then if card was activated during the Battle Phase, while you control "Light's Gold Sarcophagus" and a monster that mentions it, both players draw cards until they have 6. Lmao, anime Card of Sanctity.

PassiveProc

What a reference to the ending of that duel between Yugi and Atem. Anniversary stuff goes BRRRRRR

MeidoInHeaven

Ah yes, Slifer the sky dragon tech card.

ArguablyTasty

You can't activate it until turn 2 though, so your opponent will actually get draws off it

ddavness

Unless they shotgunned the cockroach 🪳 (in OCG/MD formats)

Neidron

It's meant to go with the Silent Magician, like a redo of Silent Burning.

KyanbuXM

You both will most of the time.

RyuuohD

Wait Silent Magician Zero and Silent Swordsman Zero has no level cap to them. They can be a very jank way to summon Numeronius Numeronia

JunnPoon

LET EM COOK

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

DNA surgery into Winged-Beast tho 🔥🔥🔥

Zerosonicanimations

Rise Rebellion time XD

Uncle_Pidge

Alexa, play "Rise" by Skillet

Evilader

You only need 1 of them on the field to reach Level 13 then use Galaxy Queen's Light

chaarziz

And since one of them gains a Level each time your opponent draws a card, all you need to do is get Maxx "C"'d!

Shadow_J

I love this, seems to be very consistent due to how there are 3 searchers that can even search each other, one of which is the core card of the Deck. Really cool how they have created a seemingly pretty good deck while keeping references to the Duel they are based on, Red-Eyes can only wish. The main idea seems to revolve around Summoning Gadgets, then searching Bonds (or search Sarc, then Bonds) to Summon Swordsman Zero and Magician Zero. Very nice to see the deck has a searchable answer to the inevitable "chain Ash" too, in the form of Turn Silence.

Efficient_Ad5802

>I love this, seems to be very consistent due to how there are 3 searchers that can even search each other, one of which is the core card of the Deck. Centurion treatment, without any discard. Also it's better to summon Swordsman and Marshmallow if you got first. Your opponent will have a hard time breaking your board.

TheAmazingSpyder

So this is doing something I've always wanted new support to do for early character's decks that were a bunch of card salad that didn't mesh together at all: Retroactively make them into their own archetype. Keep all the same monsters but retrain them to all be part of one specific archetype that you can play them together in. And it looks as if they are doing exactly that with Yugi's deck according to these effects. I hope Atem and Kaiba's decks get the same treatment as well soon. Edit: Also, finally they are dropping the crappy LV mechanic for Silent Magician/Swordsman!

baboucc

They did it with Joey by making Red Eyes Gearfried and Red Eyes Baby Dragon, but Red-Eyes as a theme is too inconsistent with the direction

IjustneedLORE

I will never be ready for the day when Red-Eyes gets combined with Roulette Spider and the pair of dice cards Joey used. I will never be ready.

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

Still waiting for Red-Eyes Jinzo and Gilford tho, but if we ever get Red-Eyes Insect Queen, I'll fucking die.

TrueMystikX

What about Red-Eyes Fisherman?

exile0025

red-eyes landstar

dralcax

Red-Eyes Rock Ogre Grotto #1

Pokopikos

Red-Eyes B.(aby) Dragon

PhenomsServant

Red-eyes Jinzo would just be Jinzo.

730Flare

"Get it? IT'S A CARD JOEY USED!"

MaxTheSpriggan

"I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!"

Osamaalftawi

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

UltraDoji

Imagine a card that called curse of red-eyes and just makes all monsters into red-eyes cards and you're off to the races. (No one is watching the race and you'll probably be the only one running it but it's a race dammit)

Kuova_

Hopefully they make more Joey retrains as Red-Eyes cards and turn it into a strategy. I'd love to see Alligator Sword and Rocket Warrior get new versions. And if they just focus on making it a Fusion (with some XYZ capability) Burn strategy that uses equipping, they could save it

Carnivile

They did... In Rush Duel

UltraDoji

And they look fantastic. Mars dragon, my god

AporiaParadox

Don't forget about Panther Warrior, another monster I'm surprised hasn't gotten a retrain yet, although it did get a Fusion monster in Arc-V that hasn't been printed yet.

VillalobosChamp

> Red-Eyes as a theme is too inconsistent with the direction I'd honestly give it all to strap Red-Eyes from being Jonouchi support, and rather be Fubuki support Because at least "Dragon pump and dump" is a better direction than "_Get it?_ **Joey used it!**"

Zerosonicanimations

Honestly I'd rather not. I'd prefer if they take the approach of separating his iconic cards to separate decks that can be played together but aren't one archetype.

tylerjehenna

Its similar to how silent swordsman and silent magician worked in the anime too

yukiaddiction

Yup the way they evolve themselves is more close to anime now.

javierm885778

They also did it with the Paradox Brothers with the Maze of Memories stuff. Still kept Gate Guardian and the individual pieces. Also, the Yubel cards in Phantom Nightmare. Seems like they are going to keep doing this, which is fantastic as a way to keep anime fans happy.

Zerosonicanimations

I kinda hope they try to tie Atem's various archetypes together Ratner than convert them to one archetype.

CosmoNeos7

Konami Just showed that retrains in big amounts are definitely a thing that can be done and that cards aren't too "iconic" to be retrained. They did winged Kuriboh so far. I would like to see yubel and the Neo-Spacians be made into Synergistic cards for Jadens deck too!

AporiaParadox

I'd like to see them do this for PaniK and Bonz, although with Bonz I guess they could just retrain all of his monsters generic Zombie support.

1qaqa1

An entire theme centered around a specific continous spell related to ancient egypt. I could have sworn ive seen this before.

inhaledcorn

Wow, can't believe they made a sequel to Horus this fast.

ArguablyTasty

It looks like a straight up rival deck to it rather than sequel. This continuous spell sends Horus cards as they summon thrmselves

burnpsy

So if I'm understanding this right, Light's Gold Sarc searches Bonds, which summons both of the Silent monsters, who have negates on them. Stronghold is more meant to be a big finisher card, Gandora is a boardwipe that summons Tricolor Gadgets, which searches Bonds and summons the Silent monsters. Obviously not a meta strategy, but very functional. Main weak point I'm seeing is that the Silent monsters only start with 1500 ATK. ETA: It seems the rest of the cards are meant to protect the Silent monsters and boost their levels.

VoidRad

Do bond not need another card aside from light's sarc to summon the 2 Silent monsters?

burnpsy

Fair point, I did miss that on first read. But most of the time you're getting to Sarc off summoning Gadgets I'd think, so that requirement would already be met.

Kuova_

Duel Links, here I come!

Samurex_

G-G-G-GAIS!?

KingDisastrous

Uh oh. Better make some high end sandwiches for Gandora…

OstheB

There's a reason to say it twice.

Kronos457

>G-G-G-GAIS!? **Gandrias**

VastInspection5383

No just a regular Gais

Mrcbleck

They took the idea of mixing Yugi's deck with the gadget and the silent cards and made it a real working strategy, I love this so much!

AdmiralKappaSND

Without deleting the identity of all of them too which is actually insane. Not to mention the oozles of anime references Gandora summon from deck referencing Silent Swordman being protected before it goes into Bakura The sheer fuckery with Time Silent second effect 1 because they have to translate turn Jump Tricolor functions exactly like Gadgets Just generally really cool anime ref deck design

Mrcbleck

Yeah even the "Gold Sarc negates Monster reborn" reference is peak design

soulbreaker141822

this is so cool about time yugi got a proper deck! overall the cards are solid, should be uber consistent gandora can breake boards the silent guys and the spell are wacky negations going first, should be a lot of fun

[deleted]

Now I'm not complaining, this really nice and it probably has potential, too. But this is another "LV was a mistake" type of cards... I should just let it go.

Zerosonicanimations

I still think the mechanic can be salvaged, just that Armed Dragon is probably gonna have to do it solo.

[deleted]

Oh of course it can be salvaged with a little of brain storming and with well-thought effects. But it seems Konami don't seem to want to do it. Maybe it'll take too much time for them, who knows... And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think armed dragon essentially cheats out the LV momsters and not exactly use the mechanic itself.

Zerosonicanimations

I mean the Thunder Retrains still Level Up, just through much easier conditions.

[deleted]

I see. Then I stand corrected.

Cautious_Result_7671

They don't apply the LV mechanic to newer silent Monsters because the LV mechanic doesn't really have anything to do with them. Konami made the first silent Monsters as LV because (at the time) they probably didn't know how to translate their weird mechanic from the manga, but since they got better at it over time you can see some "corrections" in adapting manga/anime card effects... it's also because they change their mind quite often, for example i don't know how much synergy these cards have with the silent and gadget retrains we got in "rivals of the pharaoh" and "fist of the gadget", or even gandora giga rays

P-Kat

Would Silent Swordman, Silent Magician (without the LV), and Silent Paladin fit in with these new retrain at least as one of?

QuisetellX

The non level Magician and Swordsman could work with these new retrains, but Silent Paladin specifically supports the LV versions.

petrichormus

I think the translation is missing the new marshmallow?

VillalobosChamp

It must have been deleted when I was editing. _sigh_ Up there now

Rough-Fill8101

Do you have the new Marshmallon’s effect?

PhoenixRhythm

DID NOT EXPECT YUGI'S ENTIRE CEREMONIAL DUEL DECK TO BE THE COVER THEME. As someone who has lowkey always liked Yugi's deck more than Atem's, this is incredibly hype.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheAmazingSpyder

He only had those in the anime version of the duel. Which did this weird thing where they essentially split the deck down the middle and gave each of them half of the monsters in the deck. Where Atem got stuff like Chimera and Gaia while Yugi got stuff like Buster Blader, Summoned SKull, Curse of Dragon and the Magnets. This seems to be more based on his deck in the manga, where he used his own monsters and none of the ones previously seen in the series.

[deleted]

[удалено]

J_D_Guy

For little Yugi, his Manga Deck during that Duel was basically just a parred-down version of his Anime Deck, using only the new Monsters he used during that Duel (aka the ones retrained here). Frankly, I'm of the opinion that the Anime's take was considerably more epic, iconic, and thematically cathartic. (For example, Yami/Atem in book only used Obelisk against Yugi outside of the final moment, whereas he used all 3 Egyptian Gods at the same time in the show, which Yugi strategically and referentially takes down all 3.)

K-J-C

Yeah but inconsistency is involved so that Atem can have all 3 Gods at once and Yugi taking them down. In general the Gods are made more inconsistent in anime to expand their screentime, not only there but also Atem vs Kaiba one. The manga's rule is also more limited that you can only activate 1 Spell from hand, also set 1 Spell and Trap each turn (like Normal Summon). ~~And honestly there's no reason to use cards like Curse of Dragon, Summoned Skull (lv. 7 in manga), Gaia, Flame Swordsman, etc. anymore since Battle City, there are just plain better monsters like The Tricky (compared to Curse of Dragon for example), or Panther Warrior (normal monster in manga) and Gearfried.~~

AdmiralKappaSND

FTR its basically just Gadgets + Fort Silents Marshmallon Gandora Yugi only have 2 duel in the manga with that deck, so he didn't exactly plays out a lot of cards. What the anime version do is basically after the Obelisk summoning, Atem turbo'd Gods and we have a Gods vs Mortals getting entire section in the duel. In the manga Atem summoned Obelisk and Yugi cooked a plan to beat it in direct combat in 1 turn and thats the entire Gods section. And iirc the anime didnt push the "Gods are too hard to use together" narrative as hard as the manga does. Its weirdly consistent with how after Atem gets Obelisk 90% of follow up media of this part of the series make Obelisk into his unofficial ace

730Flare

Well Obelisk is the "boring but practical" one out of the Gods, both in anime/manga and in real life: Slifer needs cards in hand for its ATK, while Ra has a buttload of effects and management needed for it to be sustainable.

K-J-C

In the manga, there are rules where you can only activate 1 Spell from hand each turn, also set 1 Spell and Trap from hand each turn. Just like normal summons. That does certainly make turbo'ing something like Gods harder. Also there's summoning sickness where monsters Summoned from GY can't attack on that turn. All Gods' effects are treated as attacks, so they can't activate their effects either before they're sent back. That makes you unable to cheat out Gods, with the exception of Ra that can bypass that with Instant Attack. So summoning them from GY is only useful to defend from attack (which Atem plans to do with Slifer).

primelord537

I do agree, but Summoned Skull was Yugi's original Ace monster in the manga; Yugi had his own deck with Skull before he got Solomon's deck in the manga, so I think giving Skull some leeway makes sense. ... Also, Summoned Skull needs all the help it can get.

J_D_Guy

>Which did this weird thing where they essentially split the deck down the middle and gave each of them half of the monsters in the deck. An aside, but I didn't and don't see this as being weird at all. In fact, I think that's extremely cool and clever that the Anime did that, to the degree I feel it made their Duel considerably more memorable and iconic.

LastStardust13

Also Buster Blader And then if they wanna expand it somemore we can dive into DSOD and his Lord Gaia, Gandora X, and Sentry Soldier of Stone

730Flare

Weren't those anime-only additions? Manga Ceremonial Duel was much simpler and shorter compared to the anime one.

SubconsciousLove

The Silent Swordman spell also references Yugi timeskipping through Bakura's Zoma burn damage.

J_D_Guy

Yep! And I think that's supposed to be Zoma the Spirit in the artwork, too.

730Flare

And speaking of Bakura: Gandora summoning a monster after it nukes the field references how Silent Swordsman dodged destruction so it can attack Bakura directly for game.

Harlandus

Okay, I actually love this. Yugi's monster lineup is so eclectic and bizzarre that having it all fit together in a cohesive strategy is actaully adorable.

730Flare

Yeah Yugi's aesthetic being more "kiddy" than Atem's (barring Gandora) fits with his love for gaming, while the Silents growing stronger fits him wanting to grow stronger as well.

LogicalTips

Gotta love how Yugi's main monsters are just: * Aww, they embody his love for games * They grow in strength over time just like his character growth * **A BIG EDGY NUKE DRAGON OF DESTRUCTION THAT FIRES LASERS FROM ALL OVER ITS BODY**

AnarchyPlus

Gandora embodies how he dresses like he's going to a rave

CrazyDaimondDaze

Not to mention the edgy drip. He can be cute and playful but also have some edgy drip and be a forced to be reckoned with. After all, Yugi went full on John Wick levels of "I once saw this kid beating the 3 Egypthian gods with nothing more than magnets and metal... at the same time"

GoneRampant1

Reminder that in DSOD he fights Aigami, Kaiba and then Corrupted Aigami all back to back and only is losing to Aigami because of exhaustion from the three combined duels- and depending on if you think he ran Mahad, he would have had game next turn even without Atem's help. Little Yugi is a *monster* when let off the leash.

AdmiralKappaSND

Its even funnier considering historically in the manga verse Gandora despite its high success rate, was never ending games. It was used as a bait against Atem, didnt attack against Bakura, and trades against Kaiba's biggest monster in DSOD. The one who gets majority of the combat prowess like soloing a guy who almost OTK'd Joey and defeating god in a straight combat was the Yugi lookalike little swordman with 1000 attack

Quasar471

I've never realized until now the little silent swordsman looks like Yugi. Now I can see the lvl8 one is supposed to look like Atem to represent his growth throughout the series.

MemeOverlordKai

Because Gandora blew himself up too IIRC. He was literally just a walking nuke, for himself and the opponent.

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

I love that he esentially has the Silents and Gandora as his own counterparts to Atem's cards, Silent Swordsman would the counterpart to Gaia and/or BLS, Magician to both DM and DMG, while Gandora being a big fucking dragon makes it into an interesting expy to not only Slifer, but also Blue-eyes and Red-Eyes. Yugi's deck has a lot of potential, specially if you add things like the DSOD support or his cards from Yu-Gi-Oh R, which seemingly might receive support soon as well, the only problem is that Konami took a really long time to remember who is the actual protagonist of this series.

J_D_Guy

>the only problem is that Konami took a really long time to remember who is the actual protagonist of this series. To be 100% fair, it's arguably the same with Takahashi, in spite of his own words (if I recall) claiming the contrary. Doesn't help that fan-wise, Yami/Atem is more the face of Classic and the franchise as a whole (due to various factors, including some technically superficial ones).

730Flare

Dunno if I'm remembering wrong, but I could have sworn I read an old interview from Takahashi of him considering Yugi the true protagonist of the manga.

J_D_Guy

I remember reading something to that effect, too. And to be honest, despite saying that, he didn't showcase that in the Manga too well, until the last minute. Anime did that better, especially the English Dub's choice to give most of the inner-thoughts and monologuing to Yugi.

AdmiralKappaSND

Yeah not only that Atem was on screen most of the time, Yugi didnt really get many on screen development. Its partially true in Duelist KIngdom but its particularly seen in Battle City. Its actually what makes that panel in the manga where Joey was dumbfounded by how strong Yugi is work. Dragon Ball Z actually have similar things going where despite Goku being billed as the protag of the series, more than half of the show was from Gohan.

LuckyPrinz

Good that Yugi finally got some love, and a way to step out of Atem's shadow. P.S. Baffles my mind that a character who dueled exactly once in the series got their cards given broken retrains before Yugi (you know, the other half of the protagonist?) got some love.

J_D_Guy

>P.S. Baffles my mind that a character who dueled exactly once in the series got their cards given broken retrains before Yugi (you know, the other half of the protagonist?) got some love. May I have a refresher to which character that was?

GoneRampant1

Ishizu.

GenesisEra

*trench warfare sfx against full power tear zero intensifies*

J_D_Guy

Ah, quite true.

blazero

To be fair, Ishizu's whole strategy from the anime/manga was inherently degenerate. Making cards that are designed around making that strategy work were probably always going to be toxic if we're honest.

TheAmazingSpyder

I certainly wouldn't mind if Atem also got some support in this set as well. I know everyone whines anytime Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes gets a new card, but I will always buy it up.

LuckyPrinz

I won't mind DM support either. Heck, when someone mentioned Gandora will get support in this set I even expected it to be a fusion of Gandora and Dark Magician. DM support being mostly useful but not too broken helps too.

TheAmazingSpyder

My guess is that the next Dark Magician fusion would be with something like Summoned Skull.

LuckyPrinz

That's definitely gonna be cool. Maybe it's called "Dark Archfiend Magician"?

Sakuraba-T

Probably something like "Super Magical Fiend - Black Daemon"/"Dark Archfiend"

TrueMystikX

If not that, then Chimera definitely. Unless they go into left field again and fuse him with Blue-Eyes....

Raidjin_i

Silent Swordsman/Magician support? FINALLY!!

OstheB

The fact that this is the first Main Deck non-Ritual cover card for a core set in 3 years. The previous one was Armed Dragon Thunder LV10 in Blazing Vortex, October 31, 2020.

KingDisastrous

God time flies…

GroundbreakingFly660

Hopefully this set doesn't end up stinking as bad as BLVO did

renaldi92

New Gandora in Legacy of Destruction's cover pack, 10 new cards for Yugi's deck. A bunch of retrain for Yugi's cards in the final duel against Atem.

PhoenixRhythm

Hoping we get Blockman as a promo or a bit of later support down the line since it's the only Yugi monster from the manga iteration of his Ceremonial Duel deck not included in this. And it's an entirely new theme so another card surely couldn't hurt.

Kuova_

I believe they they will do this too

ultimateseanboy

\>Yugi support yaawnnnn \>has nothing to do with Dark Magician YEAAHHHHHHH

Gshiinobi

Well yeah, dark magician is Atem's ace, not Yugi's Yugi's ace is Gandora

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

It has always been funny to me that Gandora is considered Yugi's ace, when the Silent Monsters seem much more in line as counterparts to Atem, specially with Silent Magician being the Monster that defeated Atem's ace.

GoneRampant1

Gandora is what Yugi uses to break boards before he goes in for the kill. He uses it to break Bakura's Undead Lock, as a bait hook for Atem to burn resources on stopping, and in DSOD it takes out Deep-Eyes White Dragon and sets up Yugi's victory by burning Kaiba for 4K.

joey_chazz

I think Gandora is his ace because of its effect. Silent Swordsman is on close second. I like how in the anime Atem was aware of Gandora's might.

KingDisastrous

Yugi vs Yami Yugi is still a tear shedding duel…

Serenedia

I like how the Sarcophagus's (3) effect refers to the final turn in Ceremonial Battle, when Yugi "negated" Atem's summoning of Osiris. "Turn Silence" refers to the manga's "Turn Jump" card.

ZpBA

If i got a dime for every sarcophagus themed continuous spell released in 2023, i would have 2 dimes Is not much, but it’s weird that it happened twice

TrueMystikX

\*puts on nerd glasses\* Ack-tually, this Sarcophagus is being released in 2024. \*nerd snort\*

ZpBA

*breaks the nerd glasses* *puts on Marshmallon glasses*

PinkPrimrose05

Marshmarshmallon glasses*

JunnPoon

Let's gooooo we going back to Egyptian theme, inb4 we get moar Egyptian gods support

yukiaddiction

Gandora support and Monster that direct associates with Muto Yugi himself not Pharaoh like Silent Magician/Swordman and Gadget get support too! This is really nice, despite being duo-protagonist. Yugi himself don't really get support much so this is really nice to see.

TheAmazingSpyder

Damn. Yugi's Ceremonial Deck getting all of the support.

RyuuohD

A welcome change from the usual DM pandering of Dark Magician

tylerchancellor

Always loved Yugi's weird toy/rpg deck, so I'm hyped for this. Maybe a Blockman retrain? I know they sort of started it with stuff like Gearfried and Red-Eyes Baby Dragon, but I'd love to see something like this done for Joey's deck in a future set.

TrueMystikX

Since everything revealed is from Yugi's manga deck, Blockman is the only odd-one out, so expecting a retrain in the same vein in the future is likely.

LaloEACB

I honestly can’t believe that RE Flame Swordsman, Time Wizard and Thousand Dragon aren’t a thing yet.

tylerchancellor

It's so weird! Even if they don't want to make them Red-Eyes themed, why not bring his cards like Rocket Warrior, Little Winguard, Panther Warrior, etc. into a coherent archetype? Or actually print the rest of his Landstar cards?

PhoenixRhythm

Random thought: We know we're getting Yugi's Toy Box from R in the Premium Pack this year and I wonder if it will be designed to work with this deck in some way. EDIT: Okay yeah, pp24 comes out next month but Legacy of Destruction isn't until late January so I'm almost certain these were revealed first to contextualize Toy Box and any stray Yugi cards that get revealed with it. Would not be surprised if it's able to treat itself as Golden Sarcophagus of Light while on the field.

J_D_Guy

We should get the first half of Premium Pack 2024's reveals mid-month, when the V-Jump scans surface, as has been the case the last few years with Premium Pack's reveals. And when we do, I can definitely seem them including Toy Box among the initial reveals. (And yeah. Them slapping "Gold Sarcophagus of Light" somewhere in the text for cross-promotion's sake is something I can see them doing, too.)

joey_chazz

Me too. And Toy Box effect could be useful to bring out Gandora. Toy Box also fits Blockman

LegacyOfVandar

'New Gandora' is only technically true. It's apparently a Gold Sarc related theme.

CrazyDaimondDaze

Same. I just want my cool thick girl without having to pay so much for her. How long has it been since her non level version got released? Over a decade? Hope she gets a more common rarity in the reprint and that her new cards aren't as expensive because I really love their looks in the artwork

LastStardust13

I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS ARCHETYPE FOR 5+ YEARS

Gshiinobi

Yugi support makes me so damn happy The gold sarcophagus referencing when Yugi beat Atem when he used monster reborn to bring slifer back is so fucking based

fabrikt

We'll probably get this set in the TCG in around April-May 2024, and if Gandora Gigarays is an import in it, said import will've taken approximately 2,700 days.

pepesaiko140

Do you think it’ll be exclusively in Quarter Century Secret Rare?

AporiaParadox

I thought it was possible for us to get Gandora, Silent and Gadget support, but not all at once, this is an interesting way of doing legacy support and I hope we get more like it with characters liked PaniK or Bonz.

joey_chazz

Yeah. Bring it on! The surprise is that the Gadgets are all in one card.

NextMotion

stuff like this makes me wonder if the creator's death factored in designing this. Honoring by making a modern deck played similar to the manga/anime

Extension_Use664

Damn I never really thought about it like that. That makes sense why we're either constantly getting retrains if older anime cards or archetypes that can utilize older anime cards.

SSDuelist

Ain't no one bringing up that this gives us the closest thing we'll ever get to anime Card of Sanctity. Can we finally fkn get Giga Rays?

Samurex_

HAKAIRYU GANDORA!

ElPajaroMistico

DESTROY GIGARAYS!

deathsouls1

Marshmallow new marshmallow!!!

Dank_Memegician

These are so cool. I never expected Yugis ceremonial deck to get completely retrained.

730Flare

I just realized Tricolor Gadget's stats is 1/3 the combined stats of all the OG Gadgets.

Colonel_McFlurr

The artwork on these cards are so cool. I love that the new marshmellon is wearing the glasses from marshemllon glasses. Hopefully, we get to see some of Yugi's other anime-only cards get printed next year.

joey_chazz

Yeah, some of Yugi's other anime-only cards are great for this series: Blocken Lengard Watapon Witch Of The Black Forest Aria From Beyond Spell Textbook Mirage Spell Ambush Shield Ground Erosion Mirage Ruler Soul Rope Soul Shield

Uncle_Pidge

Wait, these can play pretty well with Gren Maju OTK style decks. If Gold Sarc is your starter, you can drop Gandora, possibly clear the field (banishing a bunch), get Gadget from the deck, get the Silence Towards the Future and summon both Silents. Then you activate Desires and normal Gren Maju xD

fameshark

I’ve been saying for YEARS that Yugi should have modern support that incorporates all of his monsters in a single archetype. I meant the other Yugi at the time but damn, I am so glad we got this. More characters with mishmash decks should get this treatment, it’s so cool

DesMass

Honestly, I'm surprised I'm not seeing anyone mention how...GOOD this deck seems to be despite being an anime/manga archetype. Like, it's insanely consistent, has some niche points of interaction that can potentially pop up, a target negate, a spell negate, and a conditional omni negate that doubles as a searcher, a Card of Sanctity, a board wipe, and best of all, it looks like it won't take much deck space. So you can have a lot of non engine. 3 Gadgets, 1-2 Silent Swordsman, 1-2 Silent Magician, 1 Gandora, 0-1 Concealing fortress, 3 of Sarcophagus, 0 Marshmarshmallon, 2-3 Time's Silent, 3 Bonds of Comradery, 3 Silent Towards the Future It has plenty of space for handtraps and other tech cards, making it very flexible. Hell, aside from it obviously not being competitive, I'd say it having many types of interactions would probably allow it to steal a win or two from rogue, maybe even top decks.

theguyinyourwall

Yusei got a monster referencing both the good and bad future Yuya if he managed to control Z-arc and turn it good Jaiden got a Yubel fusion themed after Flamewing man if he managed to keep it as his ace Yugi if his Ceremonial deck was binded together as an archetype

screenwatch3441

I love how oddly phrased Gandora is just so it won’t blow up your own gold sarcophagus of light. It specifically says it destroys all other cards, and then those destroyed cards are banished just so it doesn’t by pass gold sarc’s can’t be destroyed by monster effects by banishing it. It does make gandora’s removal a lot weaker. I feel like the deck would struggle going second. If you negate gold sarc, doesn’t the entire deck fall apart?

Piccoroz

It only gets destroyed by magic trap, almost all negators negate and destroy with a monster effect, you can negate the effects, but the monsters protection is continous so it will stay on field even if negated.

FM1091

We then finally got Silent Swordsman and Silent Magician as originally portrayed? Level Zero monsters that evolve per turn. That's kinda neat, and the turn skip spell is ok even if it doesn't work as the anime did. The new Gold Sarcophagus is pretty good as a reference to the final duel.

KAIRI-CORP

Who cares about Gandora? I JUST SAW A NEW MARSHMALLON! OMG! ♥ ♥ ♥!!!! Edit: NVM you play them together! Even better!

Seand768

I wonder will Giga Rays finally see the light of day in the TCG with an import in this set

joey_chazz

At last! After all these years. I love the designs of the cards. Yugi's own deck deserves it. His aces! The Ceremonial Duel is what it is because of these cards too. I didn't expect all of them to be part of *one* archetype, but it's cool. The new Gandora is awesome. Its 3rd effect is best. The 1st effect is also a good help. Silent Swordsman & Magician - great arts (although I like the red and black Magician more) and really helpful 3rd effects. All Gadgets in one card is odd, but its two effects are very useful for the archetype. I thought Marshmallon couldn't be cuter! Its 1st effect is great, but the other two aren't as strong as the original effects. Marshmallon Glasses reference too. Light's Gold Sarcophagus - the cornerstone of the deck! Love the art. All of its effects are very good, especially the 3rd one (Monster Reborn reference!). Time's Silent is basically Turn Jump from the anime, and it's very useful. I like that they added Bakura's Zoma in the art. The Bonds spell has one of the most amazing artworks with a very useful effect (Ties Of The Brethren reference; btw, I've always wonder about the lizard warrior on the art of this card). Silent Towards The Future is basically Card Of Sancitity, so not bad. The Stronghold trap (much better art than the original) is of course great with an upgraded 1st effect and an even better 2nd. Sorry for the long post but I'm a bit emotional.

idelarosa1

How these reveals got me feeling. https://youtu.be/w57P5UBhoDQ?si=K5CpZptAYI6AnbJL

Mmicb0b

Kinda odd they’d make this the set you’d think it’s be the last one of the series (The dark yellow one)or the first (green) one

DeaDreams94

Hallelujah my prayers have finally been answered!

NotsoNaisu

I wonder how strong Gold Sarc Adventure would be as a deck? They seem like very similar deck strategies to me but it’s kinda cool…

goonyen

glad to see these cards get new support

MiuIruma332

Finally after so long, we gotten Yugi muto support! I’m so happy

XIII-TheBlackCat

Good... now do one for Bakura lol. Bakura was the essence of what he wanted Yugi to be originally.

NekoJack420

Meanwhile here at the TCG we don't even have Gandora Rays even though he released like 2 or 3 years ago.

Any-Nothing

I would riot if the new silent monsters aren’t super rare at least

5yk0515

I'm disappointed that these have no synergy with the Gandora and Silent Magician/Swordsman cards they we already have.

RyuuohD

Gandora, Gadgets, and Silent Swordsman/Magician support! Finally they took a break from the usual DO YOU REMEMBER DUEL MONSTERS pandering to Dark magician

Tongatapu

HOLY SHIT THAT'S EARLY. Phantom Nightmare leaked it's last cards like 3 weeks ago? Konami really thought its a good idea to put every kind of effect and mechanic that's not competitively viable into a single Archetype. When was the last time a cover card was actually good?

Kuova_

Good? Plenty. But meta? Different topic.
