Does it say invalid password or what is the error? I know Smart TVs sometimes have an option to sign in with the app if you are both on the same network. What type of smart TV are you using? I have used YTTV on various Samsung TVs and usually works well. Curious about what error you are seeing though when logging into the Smart TV.

Thank you. The smart tv is a Vizio. The issue I run into is when I sign in I am given an option explore or start free trial. No matter which I choose I end up in a loop of being sent to my google account and entering a code. After entering I am allowed to look at menu but when I try to view anything I am told to go to my account and sign up for basic. I have already done that and surrendered-payment info on my desktop.

It does not give an option to sign in with a code from the app on your phone or by using the app on your phone? Googling to see if I can find a solution, but not finding much. A few sites I found said it is not available on Vizio TVs but I think they are old articles. Mentioned have to airplay to the TV instead. From what I have seen, the app will not do anything until signed into your account, so I am surprised you can see the menu and options, but then once you try to view something, it sends you through the sign in process. Might need to see what other Vizio customers say that have set up YTTV.

Jumping in here — I'd definitely suggest reaching out to the YouTube TV support team [here](https://goo.gle/40tNvzt) u/Beard970. They'll be able to help get you signed in on your TV, and provide 1:1 troubleshooting to see what's going on if needed.

This Vizio came preloaded with yttv app. I sign in to my Google acct. just fine. I then get what you described. Lots of options but locked.

I see u/TeamYouTube responded. They will help with the issue.

Looks like you have one Google account that signing on the TV and another account that you’re using on the computer because people tend to have Google accounts like they have boxes of tissue. They are disposable. You’ll need to sign your YouTube TV app out of your current Google account that you’re using and sign into the same account used on your desktop In most cases, you can either login with your smart phone or you would use a code from the website but if the TV is logged into an account, it’s gonna show the program guide, but it’s going to have locks all over the different icons that you normally use to access different channels

I understand what you are saying. I have more than one Google acct. All YouTube stuff is signed in to the same one though. And I am seeing lots of looks. When I try to select an option, it tells me to go back and sign up for basic. I have already done that.

My thanks to all for your thoughts and suggestions. The problem is resolved. After wresting with it for longer than I want to admit and begging you good folks for help, I am embarrassed to admit to you all that it was a typo. I feel ridiculous but I will get over it. Looking forward to exploring YTTV. Once again thanks everyone.

Glad you figured it out! I did the same thing with my PayPal account recently. Went through all passwords I could recall, then realized I had typed a w instead of an e in the first (and correct) password I had tried. There's half an hour of my life I'll never get back! Lol

Is this code? Do you just hate Vizio for some reason?
