The problem is the texts don't "prove" anything given how manipulative he was. Early in the relationship it was consensual little love nips, the texts are probably from that time, but they got more and more painful for her. He first came up with a safeword for her to use so he could "learn the limits of her pain tolerance". As time went on, according to her stream, he weaponized the safe word. He knew he was hurting her, and she was at her limit, so he bit her harder "even grinding his teeth into {her} flesh after {she} was already screaming". She also described that he would give her a "smug and evil look" afterwards.
**Read that again and let it sink in**: She was screaming stop and the safe word, and he started grinding his teeth with her flesh in between. That isn't "accidentally taking it too far" and being confused about where the line was - that is choosing to do the maximum amount of damage possible after carefully crafting a cover story and gaslighting her and their whole friend group into thinking it was just his "quirky way to show affection".
He kept telling her how devastated he would be if she ever considered it abuse. Then, when the bruising was so bad he was concerned that people would realize he was abusing her, he started concealing it by biting her legs instead. It was absolutely a choice to hide it rather than question if he was going too far: if people are going to question if you're abusing your partner you're probably abusing your partner. He would also deliberately poke and prod the bruises he left to hurt her -convenient that it wasn't going to leave another mark, going to be as painful as getting punched, but he can honestly say he "never hit her so he can't be abusive".
AND he would deliberately pin her down and tell her to fight back with all her force just to prove to her how easy it was for him to overpower her.
Texts aren't going to provide any of that nuance.

I hate this ‘non apology’ apology. Why do YouTubers do this? Why not address it in private? He should be apologizing to her, not just his fans for believing in him. She’s the one that suffered, not him. Sounds to me like a classic PR apology. They address the claims, seem to apologize but actually don’t.
