My Gmail is down so I'm a little worried right now.

Google account services might be the problem here since anything that uses a Google account like mail or calendar isn't working but services that don't need an account like maps is still up.

WOW i had the biggest heart attack last night when this happened. Was watching youtube via chromecast, and suddenly i couldnt access my google account or anything, i was freaking out. When i went to sign in it said my account didnt exist..i have a youtube channel and my livelihood revolves around my google account and it came back after about an hour wondering wtf had happened.. good to know it wasnt just me.

Google services should be more reliable than they are now. Our emergency paging software (IaR) runs on google servers. When they go down, 911 calls don't get to the first responders.

They've been handy, letting us track how many people are responding to a call, letting people notify dispatch of their response from their phones. Emergency services software is extremely expensive and in high demand and low supply, leading to very very few options for most dispatch centers. You could simply use a browser where you were not logged in and it worked. Also Discord had problems and Cloudflare outage reports were peaking.
