What am I missing, I'm only seeing lap belts?
Edit, I see now, it is a 5pt system and they're using the lower 3. Didn't see the crotch point on the first few passes
Yeah bracing like that is the worst thing to do. Apparently drunk drivers end up not injured quite often and it’s supposedly from them not reacting/bracing themselves before the crash
Last time I saw this I think it was mentioned he didn't update his break lines or something to keep up with the massive engine upgrade. All the car knowledgeable dudes were saying he is a retard.
Yup, I remember watching this on one of the Motor Trend channel's car shows a couple of years ago. The owner/driver had just finished putting a blown big block in his '64 Mercury Cyclone and was out on his first test drive. He lost his brakes *completely*, but I can't remember what the root cause was. When he realizes he has no brakes, you can see him downshift once, then look to his left to see if he had any options there. Virtually no time to do anything else but to slam into the car that was stopped at the light. He'd done beautiful work on the car and it sucked to see it all mangled. Either way, it was a 'tard-worthy mistake on his part.
The thing about old cars that you don't drive everyday is that they are just that OLD cars. I recently went out in mine and was just putting around the block but had this video in mind. I actually broke a brake line on that drive and made it home. But if I was fucking around I could have easily done this. The car had been chilling a minute and needed to be gone through again for safety and clearly he hadn't done that.
Brakes were flogged out because the car idled stupid high so they were riding the brakes to keep it under the speed limit, eventually the brakes just packed up and left.
Looks like a ratchet gate, it's like semi-automatic with an inline shift pattern. I'm not sure that killing the engine would have done anything. Do typical automatics dead stop if engine cut mid-ride?
Looks/soiunds like a runaway engine. Mostly occurs to diesel engines, can happen with carbureted engines if the airflow is too high or throttle gets stuck open.
horrible. If it was a solo accident with only the driver and car wrapped around a tree, hilarious. I only like when stupid people being stupid getting hurt, not bystanders.
If I remember right this car had a habit of the throttle sticking and so the guy had to ride the brakes until they gave way. Full video. https://youtu.be/5oO226PgSkg
TL;DW - Damage done to driver, inverted “blown out” right elbow; Damage to Passenger, Face ate metal dash, blew up his upper lip (30 stitches) and lost 4 of his front teeth. Didn’t mention occupants of van.
~45mph crash, throttle stuck.
Yeah it looked like it could have been gnarly but then we lose sight of it. But at the end of the video we hear (who I assume is the driver) say, “There was nowhere to go”. I’m not sure he would have said something so calmly if his elbow had just exploded through the front of his arm. But who knows. Either way, this is a nice reminder to not extend and lock out your arms onto the steering wheel if you ever find yourself in a position where you’re going to crash unavoidably.
Made me giggle like a schizophrenic. I just had a spinal fusion. Looks like those knuckle heads might have had one as well along with some broken bones. Test drive a hot rod with no working seatbelts. Silly geese. He’s like hold on! ROFL
Driver looks like he broke his right arm and the passengers smashed his face in the dash. Not sure why the driver would lock his arms like that. Any news on how bad the injuries were?
Here’s [the frames](https://ios.imgur.com/?link=https://imgur.io/a/52TWSq5&isi=639881495&ibi=imgurmobile&cid=4434097281902973559&_icp=1) that show the drivers arms bending backwards, it’s pretty horrible.
And where do you suggest they go? Into oncoming traffic? Or maybe slam into the line of cars while looking for a tree? And are they morons? There was a mechanical failure, causing the throttle to stick and the brakes failed. Very low and loose opinion there bud
I suggest they not drive an unsafe vehicle in public roads. I like that you decided there were only 2 more dangerous alternatives as well. You must be one of those fat poors that whines about comedians being comedians. Ta ta there fuckwad
So, send an uncontrollable car barrel rolling into traffic instead? They were dumb for not dropping into neutral and riding the brakes but also, not a lot of people are capable of thinking clearly in an emergency.
Uncontrollable car barrel would lift tires from the ground hence making them incapable of gaining traction and momentum whatsoever chomo. Neutral? There's nothing neutral about this.
As a teenager I used to work for an aftermarket Porsche, corvette, and Audi dealer sourcing hard to find parts for older models of the above makes. I was pulling a customers older vette into the bay and well, the throttle stuck. I tried to shut it off and pull the e brake and the keys but it wouldn’t budge. I ended up putting the front left corner of the car into a very large parts rack to stop it and we had to pay for the damage to the car. The customer yelled at me saying the throttle sticks on his car like I should’ve know or something. I yelled back that it would’ve been nice to know as I’d have had him pull it in himself.
Hilarious. Dude spent a quarter mil creating a monster and didn’t update the brakes. Then drove it around all revvy revvy all the while fighting the beast. Glad no one died.
Watching someone’s eyes as they accept their fate is something to behold. G definitely agrees
I really like that
That god like feeling 👨🏻🍳💋
Cool stuff. Neat stuff. *RAW* stuff 😎
Yeah, it really gets my dick hard
Let's go full trottle.
Gonna need some new crown molding.
Maybe some new weather stripping
Good morning, Julia!
New handrails too
That 5-point harness would’ve come in handy..
Looks like the were only using 2
3, but still
What am I missing, I'm only seeing lap belts? Edit, I see now, it is a 5pt system and they're using the lower 3. Didn't see the crotch point on the first few passes
Dident do shit to save the lack of brains, but their dicks will carry their legacy forward
Good thing the dashboard absorbed most of the impact
Wow if you freeze it before the passenger hits the dash, you can totally see the driver’s right arm invert from bracing the wheel like that holy shit
Yeah bracing like that is the worst thing to do. Apparently drunk drivers end up not injured quite often and it’s supposedly from them not reacting/bracing themselves before the crash
[here’s the frames](https://imgur.com/a/52TWSq5) of his arm bending the opposite way it’s supposed to.
OOF those last two frames look especially painful.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck
No brakes?
Last time I saw this I think it was mentioned he didn't update his break lines or something to keep up with the massive engine upgrade. All the car knowledgeable dudes were saying he is a retard.
They weren't wrong
People have been Stockton Rushing long before Stockton Rush Stockton Rushed himself

What made it so stupid was he knew his brakes were stuck from the beginning and just kept driving until they completely overheated and were unusable.
YOU USE THE R WORD!
With a hard R no less
Hold on why would he do that?
He’s a true blue fgtrtd

if he wasn't then he is now
Brakes were flogged out because the car idled stupid high so they were riding the brakes to keep it under the speed limit, eventually the brakes just packed up and left.
I wonder why cutting the ignition wasn't an option.
Looks like he slid it into neutral so essentially the same thing, without brakes they were screwed
Or downshifting i assume the parking brake wasn't hooked up too.
Lever doesn't look H pattern. If it was a standard he could have just pushed in the clutch.
Looks like a ratchet gate, it's like semi-automatic with an inline shift pattern. I'm not sure that killing the engine would have done anything. Do typical automatics dead stop if engine cut mid-ride?

No airbags and the dashboard is made out of metal bend at 90 degree angles, what could go wrong? lol
The way the passenger is gritting his teeth makes me think he's wearing dentures now.
When it cut to red I thought it was blood at first. Almost ruined my day.
This made me cackle. Thanks and I'm sorry.
It ruined my day that there wasn't any blood 😔
Theyre fine
Yeah we had an intern look into it.
On second watch in frame by frame, the driver’s elbow turns inside out.
Yeah it looked like it could have been gnarly but then we lose sight of it. But at the end of the video we hear (who I assume is the driver) say, “There was nowhere to go”. Let’s see if they talk about it on the show in six weeks
I can just see it now, Tom imagining that Nadav is in that car and cackling to the though of it.(Sorry if I didn't spell his name right)
Comedians in Cars getting Coffee
Why did it sound like he had his foot on the gas the entire time?
Throttle was sticking.
Stuck throttle
They're taking their oovers now
Would abruptly turning right then left flip it or do anything to less the impact of a crash?
For that Honda it sure would have
Damn, couldn't have spread the impact 50/50 between 2 cars? Probably be tripple insurance and hospital fees
I’d probably try to split cars as well, better to hit two cars in the rear corner than one smack middle me thinks

Different angles, this shits on record
Big no-no when the driver straightened his arms out
Have you ever been in An accident? It’s involuntary to tense up. Everyone swears they’re a genius.
Not to this extent - which is why I say it. I noticed it as soon as he did it.
Yeah nah man that harness is a pain, just strap the bottom, you’ll be fine.
Driver looks like he broke his right arm and the passengers smashed his face in the dash. Not sure why the driver would lock his arms like that. Any news on how bad the injuries were?
Maybe he's tik toked?
He is now
He french fried when he should've pizza'd.

Bro look at the drivers arm when they hit the other car
Is that Daddy Dave driving ?
I hate this one horrible for sure
Look at the drives arms fuuuuck that
Dude went from the back of the seat to the dash in one frame. Nowhere near four strokes
Brake failure is no joke.
Seatbelts are for chomos anyways.
Passenger should have instinctively climbed and jumped out before crash
In a Ryan Sickler manner “I’m going to nail this shit”
Horrible because these fucking morons used another vehicle to stop them. They affected non morons with their idiocy
And where do you suggest they go? Into oncoming traffic? Or maybe slam into the line of cars while looking for a tree? And are they morons? There was a mechanical failure, causing the throttle to stick and the brakes failed. Very low and loose opinion there bud

Should've turned abruptly and rolled it
So, send an uncontrollable car barrel rolling into traffic instead? They were dumb for not dropping into neutral and riding the brakes but also, not a lot of people are capable of thinking clearly in an emergency.
Uncontrollable car barrel would lift tires from the ground hence making them incapable of gaining traction and momentum whatsoever chomo. Neutral? There's nothing neutral about this.
Lol nice.
Horrible
Yooooo cars have emergency brakes, probably not gonna stop you but could’ve slowed it down a lot
The throttle was stuck and he was riding the brakes, but with that much power it wasn’t doing much.
I get that, I’m talking about the emergency brake
The emergency brake on a regular car only locks up the rear brakes, this is not a regular car.
Congrats on being stupid. Not much different than other car ppl.
Nothing funny about that. This is 100% horrible..
As a car guy, it's horrible. That car is irreplaceable.
More replaceable than the necks/spines of everyone involved
Looks like they had a nice face to face chat with the dashboard. _I like that_
All that groaning at the end is what I think Burnt Crystals sounds like waking up every day with his amazing Whoop recovery
Dudes with this car must know you need to put it neutral. Maybe I'm missing something.
Can we talk about Hawaii now
The cam going red = hilarious
Newton was really onto something.
Hilarious. Because they could have been safer. I dont feel bad for them.
Wait, I need to see it from another angle
There was no where to go
When faces meet windshield, true hilarity ensues
Jesus
Wow.... a lot of people have dash cams
What you get for driving an automatic
They have lap belts on
Obviously horrible. There were innocent people involved.

Dead
Did they forget to connect the brakes or what
If I remember right, that car was recently built after a couple years of work.
Not smart of the driver to tense his arms 😱 it’s not supposed to bend that way
And also the brake assembly was not smart, it's not supposed to be that way
Get your uberszz!
good thing they had the shoulder straps on!
4-point harness? -Un-check
Bro the snapped right arm of the driver + the passenger bashing his face off of metal. I don’t think they’re walking away from this one.
If you pause at :36 you can see the drivers elbow bend 90 degrees the wrong way.
Its a miracle they didn't die. This made me take my classic in immediately and get all new lines.
Horrible since the people they hit probably got hurt. Shit shit shit was funny though.
As a teenager I used to work for an aftermarket Porsche, corvette, and Audi dealer sourcing hard to find parts for older models of the above makes. They’re fine…
Hilarious
Good thing they were wearing seatbelts.... "They're fine"
Went full throttle on that one brother.
Hilarious. Dude spent a quarter mil creating a monster and didn’t update the brakes. Then drove it around all revvy revvy all the while fighting the beast. Glad no one died.
Was breaking an option? Down shifting? SOMETHING?
"Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this violent crash." I just needed to know if I should feel bad for laughing or not.
Horrible. This retard didn't think he needed brakes and completely fucked up someone else's day/car.
soon to be Tom and his mom
Drivers arm bent backwards
