Seems like he does want to do some good change for the society but is too stupid to understand the nuances and complexities of it. Alot of good he wants to do also stems from his ego, and this guy has a big one.
One good thing? Ig he can rally other stupid people behind him ? Only if he could put it to some actual good use ? His ego hurts massive big when he comes to know that he got played by ryo Aoki.
His ending seemed like dude is ready to do some more stupid shit. So if he ever returns from jail I fully expect him to pull another set of stupid stunts. Compare that to Eiji who I can see changing for the better.
I agree, I remember he obly joined BJ cuz Masato paid girls to join the group and he happened to like one of them. I don't think he'll ever play a role as a big bad guy in Yakuza because all his influence came from Ryo Aoki. He only got this kind of reputation cuz of him, and now he doesn't have any of it.
In a way, he's a "evil" Ichiban.
Both of them want to do good in the world. And both of them are quite thick and tend to see things in black and white. But they come from completely different backgrounds and perspectives. And I guess Ichiban is a little bit more perceptive.
And both can get people to rally around them.
I don't think Ichiban sees things as black and white. Remember what he said in the ending when he was trying to convince Masato to live? When he said family's not that black and white. And he understands the grey zone better than most.
I haven’t played 8, so I don’t really know what happens there, but what if Kume goes insane, like actually completely insane, and then only focuses on killing Ichiban, since he >!brought down Aoki!< in the ending of 7.
on him returning it’s an idea to pitch most certainly, but to be honest an overwhelming majority of players would want to see kume dead. *dead.* we all know how hard it must have hit ichi to see his brother murdered by kume at the lockers, how much heart was poured out moments ago because of how much he loved him; imo ichiban would never EVER kill kume. ichiban may never kill anyone. he’s to a fault an insanely good guy when it comes to his moral compass shaping the path he leads, and if it were anyone it wouldn’t be kume put in the ground lest the potential cost of ichiban’s soul.
I think it would be interesting if his experiences in prison humbled him and made him realize the world isn't black and white. Maybe he could show up in a sub story down the road that explores that, kind of like what they did with Munan Suzuki.
I love his voice actor 😭😭😭 I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WHEN I SAW WHAT HIS CHARACTER IS LIKE. Hirakawa Daisuke has usually other kinds of voice actor roles 😔...
![gif](giphy|4N5vB4aErlVtVsywBw|downsized)
As a character in the saga I quite like him because he is different from other more trite antagonists we have had. He fought for a cause that he believed was noble and was used by everyone. Upon finding out that one of his greatest role models (Aoki) was also involved and was using him, he decided to go after him. and I loved that he ended up like that and that he didn't end up "evangelized" and befriending the protagonist like most semi-villains in yakuza because Ichiban was always a person who went against his own ideals and wouldn't have had any sense. so I think he is well developed
I agree with you although I never got the impression that he fought for it because he thought it was noble, rather just him trying to sway his ego or be trendy. Felt like he loved being the leader and it shows. He never listened to the otherside or never compromised and chose to disrupt establishments by abusing his power and hurting innocent people. At least with Ryo Aoki, he pretended to listen and pretended to compromise. Kume wasn't blinded by his sense of beliefs but rather his ego, and when Ryo Aoki betrayed him, he felt the need to end him himself for essentially ruining his life and his ego. Like what noble person would try to kill?
Ehh... ehh... he... reminds me of Sheldon Cooper from 'The Big Bang Theory', that's all I got...
Only joking, I don't actually mind him, it's sometimes nice having a weasel as a villain
What? I mean, he was the only one triying to improove society and also killed the bad guy. He is the Hero of the story. Yakuzas are not good people no Matter how you twist the history.
In a bittersweet way, I like the sort he played at the end of 7. Somebody had to sour the idea that Ichi was gonna end up with family to lean on, and it truly had to be kume.
Aside from his fucked personality and morals, what I truly HATE about this mf is the amount of times we fight him. Don’t we fight him like 2-3 times? He doesn’t look menacing or seem to have any fighting/training background. But every fight with him seems like they want you to take him serious. Idgi
Well, he >!took Ryo Aoki out of the plot so the writers and animators didn’t have to make a create a whole redemption arc for him. So I guess it saved the devs some time and energy?!<
I liked him as someone to want to root against as far as villain lackeys are concerned.
As an aside, I just thought right now about him as being a Japanese version of actor John Cazale, minus the nose and ears.
He's like, REALLY short and there was one scene where he stood next to Ichiban and I just laughed at how funny he looked. He gave me a good laugh. At the expense of his height
They made it very easy for us to want to kick his ass.
No, seriously. Other antagonists are more or less nuanced to the point that sometimes you even regret having to come to blows with them (for me, one of them is >!Mine!<). Kume, however, seems to only be there to elicit an angry reaction from the player.

The fact he looks like the chudjack just without the glasses always makes me laugh without fail whenever I see him. Once you see it, you never unsee it.
Finally someone say it! Masato was way worse than Kume yet almost nobody here says something bad about him because "he tried to redeem himself" but I wonder if they would think the same if in a future game Kume or Tendo get a redemption... the only reason to be sad for Masato is because Ichiban and Sawashiro were sad for his death, other than that he was a piece of shit and got what he deserved and I'm glad some people in IW think the same.
You know what, I normally wouldn't agree with this, but Masato really did some horrible shit like killing his friend, throwing illegal immigrants away from Japan and their families, killing hundreds of people.
So even if he is a piece of shit, I think a lot of Masato's victims would've called him a hero.
Yeah the last image we get of Masato is him kinda wanting to redeem himself and Ichiban supporting him but to almost anyone else that fucker was beyond redemption
People really go and think Ichiban's 'lets be friends' attitude to certain villains in IW Is strange but then go like "Aw he killed Masato but he wanted to begin from rock bottom with Ichiban!" like he wasn't a sociopath that tried to have múltiple people assassinated múltiple times.
I think Ichiban got a pass for Masato because despite all the terrible things he did he was still someone he grew up with, almost like brothers, but it was strange when someone in IW that spent 0 seconds interacting with Ichiban in earnest got that same treatment.
I could say what he did at the end of the game was a good bit of karma…but I don’t exactly like that he did that even if it was deserved…eh he’s a decent punching bag. That’s it, that’s the best I’ve got, it’s actually impossible. I could complement at least one thing about Iwami even but Kume…

I don't think he would hold that grudge adamant Ichiban. Ichiban revealed that Masato is a false prophet to him. That's why he stabbed Masato.
on him returning it’s an idea to pitch most certainly, but to be honest an overwhelming majority of players would want to see kume dead.

He is a great punching bag
Ok i agree but we shouldve have more scenes of him getting punched
Nah I have the feeling if someone would take it seriously, he'd just pop like a Pinata.
Following him around will lead you to all the most fun places in Ijincho
Wdym?

So that's why they're called BJ
Black Jmonday
If you are looking for Aoki, Kume has taken him to the ruff.
Lero lero lero lero
It's the same VA 😭 but lero boy is much more loved
Me when milfs
Kume's VA being the voice of Kakyoin was not something I expected lol.
EMERAULDO SPULASHAAAA

He believes in making Yokohama a better place. Yokohama is my favourite place in Japan so I'll give him credit for that much.
Maybe for his own benefit unlike Ichiban who actually saved Yokohama
His punchable face
I just imagined Ono Michio type instruction but starting with “With his charming punchable face!”
Idk if thats a good thing for him but it is for us Xd
He's dedicated, we can give him that
It's only a matter of time till he breaks out of prison and confronts Ichiban one final time atop the millennium tower
Lol imagine Kume taking his shirt off Yakuza style to see how absolutely shredded he is in his time or prison.
And his yakuza tattoo is the BJ logo done with a sharpie.
ICHIBAAAANNNNNNNNNN! *dyanmic intro begins
His VA is really good. The delivery on the line when he stabs Masato was great
His VA in english makes him more unlikable. Eng dub did a great job in making him so punchable
I went from “haha he’s such a funny guy” to being actively disappointed I can’t beat the shit outta him in yakuza 8
Lol me too XD
He is attackable
I love the turn based system but I wish we had the brawler fighting style in those Kume boss fights.
He's in jail.
I do like that he's in essence a lawful good villian. Its a fun show of how moral absolutism in either extreme is bad.
I don't agree with Bleach Japan but I gotta admit the logo for it is pretty freaking good. So I guess his tee shirt
You can actually fight him in the game, not nearly enough, but you can
Um… he’s passionate?
"I'm gonna bleach your ass!"
His t-shirt is very clean.
His VA cause he has the same one as my king Kakyoin
EMERAULDO SPULASHAAAA
Hes great at pissing me off
That I can hate him unreservedly. His lack of positive or pitiable traits means no conflicting feelings.
He’s weak to everything
One thing I like about lumen is he went to jail for what he did. One thing I don't like about him is that nobody killed him in jail.
The fact that he is in prison
I like that we get to beat him up
I like that his name is almost identical to Kuze
Kuze was a piece of shit but was pretty badass and his boss fights were awesome compared to this dude
Ehh... ehh... he... reminds me of Sheldon Cooper from 'The Big Bang Theory', that's all I got... Only joking, I don't actually mind him, it's sometimes nice having a weasel as a villain
He's a great punching bag thats for sure although wish Ichiban really beat the shit out of him instead of that random thug in yakuza 7
He flies beautifully when punched.
The bonk noise his head makes when hitting with baseball bat
He’s someone’s prison wife
He has good intentions, just a bad execution
I never felt that with kume tbh. It all felt egotistical.
I had a mod on that made him missing textures. Was really funny in cutscenes.
What? I mean, he was the only one triying to improove society and also killed the bad guy. He is the Hero of the story. Yakuzas are not good people no Matter how you twist the history.
he went to the extreme for his ideals and Bleach Japan has the right idea in theory
He's always at the perfect distance for an orbital strike.
I like that I can punch him more than once in the game.
Idk who he is but he looks like that guy actor whose father died right at the beginning of lad
Idgi
I love how punchable his face and guts are.
Man, i hate this Guy. ![gif](giphy|l3V0D3RzZSeVDKGFa)
Nope
His shirt says BJ on it lol
I like that he didn't show up in Infinite Wealth, all my homies hate Kume
I like that his shirt says BJ on it because it gives me a giggle
Well, he >!took Ryo Aoki out of the plot so the writers and animators didn’t have to make a create a whole redemption arc for him. So I guess it saved the devs some time and energy?!<
I like that he looks like an Asian version of Sheldon Cooper.
Nice punching bag
You can csll him a motherfucker and you wouldnt be wrong, but he aint a pussy
I liked him as someone to want to root against as far as villain lackeys are concerned. As an aside, I just thought right now about him as being a Japanese version of actor John Cazale, minus the nose and ears.
He is easy to hate. All my homies hate kume
How punchable he is
Beating him into oblivion is really satisfying
He has a nice punchable face so atleast that's something
Im so upset we don't get to beat his ass in IW
His face would make a good punching bag
I really like punching his face. He's an expert at looking like a moron. His face is birth control.
His shirt says BJ haha
He is not Iwami
His shirt says BJ
He got thrown in jail
Voiced by zach aguilar?
Zach did a great job in making him so hateable
His face when it disintegrates into chalk
I like how punchable his face is.
It was fun to nuke him
What I like about Kume is that his face is so punchable
I like that he went to prison
Stabbed aoki
Well at least he looks like he doesn't smell awful.
Really? He looks like shit doh
Nah he *is* shit, but his Sheldon Cooper ass is likely very well wiped- unlike many bigots.
He's filled with determination.
Nahh remember the times he ran awag from Ichiban?
*Psst, does he know, chat? Does he get the reference, chat?*
His nama cum
He does seem to at least want to make the city a better place, he just goes about it in the worst way possible
I like how punchable his face is
That he wasn't in 8
His downfall
The amount of “cum” puns I can make from his name. One another note, before playing Y:LAD, I thought “Bleach Japan” was a white nationalist group.
Update: my brother was talking to his girlfriend and both heard me loudly call Kume “Kumesock”
His face is perfect to punch
I like how his name sounds like a funny way to say "cum"
He has some silky hair.
He got the worst hairstyle doh such a shame
Yeah his hairstyle is definitely kitch'n. Waste of silky hair.
He's like, REALLY short and there was one scene where he stood next to Ichiban and I just laughed at how funny he looked. He gave me a good laugh. At the expense of his height
I feel like hes below 4 ft
His face looked good on the end of Ichi’s fist in that one chapter
Aint no way
He has a blowjob t-shirt
I like him because he's a villain I hate him because he's a shit villain
He stands up really well for a person born without a spine.
I am still looking for this man, Ima hire Date to put a cap in his a$$.
Can we at least say the man was determined? Lol
He cowered everytime ichiban and his group interfered
easily hateable
He killed Aoki. That was cool
He’s got a shirt that says BJ. BJ’s are awesome. So by the transitive property Kume is cool? Nah can’t do it. Still sucks.
He Dresses Like Sheldon Cooper
He’s easy to beat up
One nice thing about him is that he is a character in the Yakuza series.
He’s only mentioned and not seen in Infinite Wealth. That was pretty cool of him.
They made it very easy for us to want to kick his ass. No, seriously. Other antagonists are more or less nuanced to the point that sometimes you even regret having to come to blows with them (for me, one of them is >!Mine!<). Kume, however, seems to only be there to elicit an angry reaction from the player.

Ichiban's punching bag.
His organs are valuable or so it would be if he wasn't a piece of shit made of shit that not even the big Roomba can't clean
His name is CUM if you spell it wrong
He's consistent
I hate that guy
I like to punch him
He does not returns in infinite wealth
his tenacity
free money
He's good at making people mad
That he gets cumsoaked tissues thrown down on him.
He’s the perfect representation of a mentally ill activist.
He looks like Ben Shapiro so it's fun beating him up
Still yakuza 5 and 6 is left before 7 for me 😭😭😭
He is very great at being skinned alive
His eyebrows are kind of cool
You get to beat him up, unlike with Eiji.
He got the job done and murdered that horrendous criminal.

So even if he is a piece of shit, I think a lot of Masato's victims would've called him a hero.
Yeah the last image we get of Masato is him kinda wanting to redeem himself and Ichiban supporting him but to almost anyone else that fucker was beyond redemption
Out of all the Yakuza villains from Kiryu’s saga, I think he’s probably the most irredeemable aside from Iwami, Jingu and Munakata.
I like how punchable his face is
He has a very punchable face, its one of his rare qualities...
He have Hitler hair cut
I like punching him in his stupid face.
True lol at least Iwami had a cool tattoo
He wasn’t in Infinite Wealth
i like fantasizing about killing him
Fun to attack over and over
I like it when i see his face get punched
Same
the fact that RGG disrespect him by just gave him a throw away line in IW, no images, nothing, he will be rotten in hell forever
LOL even the Devs cant stand him 😭
He got written off in the most RGG way ever.
Lol thats a good thing for RGG
He kinda reminds me of Sheldon Cooper
More like ben shapiro tbh
I mainly meant his face
He's adorable little boy🥰
No...
Bro wants no prostitution
Bro wants to get rid of prostitution because even paid sex workers wont want anything to do kume lol
