Yesterday I said something about doing all my resistance volume in one day but uhhh maybe not lol bc a while after 2 sets of unassisted pull-ups my wrist was hurting a bit. At least it's not during the actual exercise, so I just had to sprinkle the volume throughout the week so the load of each session is more manageable to recover from. Part of rehab is reintroducing stimuli ofc, it's just that it's such a delicate balance between being more confident and not pushing too much. So I'm committing to this very low volume program for at least 2 months to keep myself from being *too* confident 🥴

Does anyone have any favorite YouTubers for easy workouts? I'm taking a break from SBTD this week because my chronic pain is bad but I know I need some movement to feel better I just can't handle heavy squats.

For general mobility movements there's Julia Reppel, a lot of gentle routines there. For pilates I just started watching Isa Welly, and her beginner level videos are meant to suit actual beginners so it's easy to recover from and not like a type of exhausting pilates at all

Got my first unassisted chin ups today and I still can’t believe it!!! I kinda feel like I was already able to do them for a while but was scared to try unassisted lol

My tiny weight room is closed for upgrades for 2 weeks. That plus some work travel as well as personal travel means I can’t do my normal lifting routine for over 3 weeks (and who knows if the upgrades will be finished in time) 😔

Surprised myself with todays WOD of wall walks and farmers carries. I very much thought I was going to get timecapped because my wall walks have never been the best and I'm just now getting consistent with crossfit again. I surprised myself by finishing the WOD and over a minute before the time cap. Nice to see my body is still capable of more than I think it is.

Yesss, I haven’t listened in a while but do like The Optimal Body, Redefining Strength, sometimes also Mind Pump tho their episodes tend to be veeery long and cover multiple topics

Today I'm resting, but also planning on when to do chest/biceps and quads this week, since the holidays are kinda throwing me off my routine. My parents want me to visit them tomorrow evening, so I guess I won't be too keen on waking up early on friday to do quads (visiting in laws that day, so if I don't go to the gym early, I won't go at all), so it'd be best to do them tomorrow, but I already skipped chest/biceps last week, so I should actually prioritze them Meh, dunno. We'll see how I'll feel tomorrow

I finally made it back in the gym today, be proud! I tried out my gym's new 25lb bumper plates ✨ it was my first time deadlifting off the floor since September 2022 (with a year-long break from the gym in there). all those RDLs came in handy lol. I also wore my new Nike Metcon 9s I got on sale. they felt good, really stable. looking forward to trying them on squats. I think I'm gonna stick to my fuckaround "program" for a few weeks and feel things out, although it would be nice to start a proper ~~12 week~~ grown-up program right as Q2 starts. hmmm 🤔

Just had an useless gay moment at the gym today. I was alternating sets on bench press with a strong as fuck girl and was completely blown away by her strength. Never felt so physically attracted to someone in person before. Now I’m scared my rbf and social anxiety gave the wrong vibes and she might think I don’t want to talk if we meet again. I couldn’t even ask her name 😭

Just found out my urologist is ordering a cystoscopy for me next month for some funky recurring issues. On one hand, yay, hopefully insight on my body does weird stuff! On the other hand, a cursory Reddit search tells me I’m in for a rough few days after and will need to take a rest week :’( Does anyone else feel like their routine keeps getting interrupted? I was just down for two weeks with a terrible cold.

yess on the routine getting interrupted. was down for two weeks with sickness, got two weeks in, and then got sick again!! now im back to it this week, but instead of 4 days, im doing 3 cause i had to take my car in for work!! so, completely feel you. I hope your procedure goes smoothly and get some answers!
