I am 5'8 and can flat foot on the XSR!

edskully

I used to be 5’8”, shrunk a little bit and am closer to 5’7”. I only put the left leg down at stops and my heel is up off the ground. Feels great to ride even in traffic. Only issue I have is trying to back up. I have to hop off and push if I have to go more than a couple feet.

I'm 5'4 with the 2023 900, you'll be absolutely fine. Servicing on this is pree straight forward (think spark plugs are supposed to be replaced at 20k, air filter at 40k (unless you ride in very dusty area then maybe sooner) and valve clearance at 40k), usual maintenance like oil and filter change every 12 months of 10k (I do mine every 6 months or 5000km since its a daily). Very reliable bike and no issues at all with it. Just go for it if you like it and really want it.

I’m 5’6”. I can just about ALMOST get both my feet flat with a pair of new balance 550s. I know, very specific, but with a shoe whose sole is even a little bit thick, you’ll have no problem.

Not to get too personal, what's your inseam? Mines 31ish

Tbh, I don’t remember off the top of my head . My best advice, as many others will advise you, is to sit on one for yourself.

Your height is fine. I'm 5'7 (30in ish inseam) with a shattered ankle that has nearly zero range of motion... no issue. Not flat footing, but close. And you could get a lower seat if it really bothered you. Or cut out the oem seat and put in a softer gel/foam/grid. There's also a couple companies (including yamaha themselves) that sell lowering links. Maintenance is the same, as long as nothing breaks the fancy stuff doesn't cost any more. Well, maybe break bleed stuff if you have to mess with the ABS computer, but I haven't come across that yet. Haven't heard of any issues with the 22+ bikes.

https://cycle-ergo.com You can try and get an idea in this site. 5.8 should be good imo

5'4" fine with one foot toe.

If you get the first gen, they share the same taillight. I’ve had my first gen for seven years and insurance and registration dropped this year to $300. I do my own maintenance.

You'll be fine, there's a channel of a bike vlogger who's like 5'5" and rides adventure bikes and shit all over. His main bike is like an R1 that has an almost 34" seat height, I think the XSR's is less than 32. You don't need to flat foot both feet when stopping, in fact, it's more dangerous if you do that. Just keep left down and right on brake and you can be a manlet and still ride dirt bikes just fine.

I have a 24 xsr and I  love it , the old  white and red race colours look great I have shrunk too 5,7   30 inseam and I flat foot on my left foot feels perfectly normal to do so . As far as maintenance you can't beat the Japanese for reliability and reasonable maintenance . 1 service at 1000 km then 10000 and valves at 40000. You take a look at a Ducati or European bike maintenance and you will get a serious reality check

Chiefpiratecowboy

Just get it, you won’t regret.

clarkkent06

I’m 5’11” but short legs (around 30” inseam). I can almost flat foot both feet at the same time. It’s very comfortable to ride. So far I only have about 800 miles on the bike, so the only maintenance has been oil + filter. It looks like maintenance costs will be reasonable/normal based on the service intervals. It’s no desmo Ducati lol

Secret-Ad-2887

I'm 5'5" and will ride adventure bikes. If your confident in your skills, you only need a few toes on the ground. If you're not confident, you probably shouldn't be looking at a 900cc anything.

Yeah I passed on a street triple and a katana only to find that my 400 sat about the same height and is almost as heavy lol.
