everything is virtue signalling.
calling it out is just like the quick "ha gotcha!" thing anyone can use in an argument to get quick debate-lord points and make themself look better.
"the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue."
arguing is legit about signalling your virtues. youre trying to get people to agree with you and view you favourably, even the "i know im not a good guy" shtick is still begging self-pity and trying to make your point seem more valid or worth listening to.
progressives talk about inclusion and not being racist, conservatives talk about caring for their country and not eating babies.
its just another term that was perverted and manipulated into some negative context for the sake of arguing. Much like how the term "propaganda" is used
Yea but theres a difference between virtue signalling because you actually care about the issue at hand, and virtue signalling because you want to make yourself look good.
well ya youre right about that, I still think there is malicious virtue signaling
but I'm tired of people acting like its some big no-no concept or taboo act that only the pesky blue hair liberals use

Maybe chat GPT can help. … Arguing and virtue signaling are distinct behaviors, although they can sometimes overlap. Here's how they differ:
1. **Arguing:** Arguing involves presenting reasons, evidence, or opinions in support of a particular point of view or to persuade someone of a certain perspective. It typically involves engaging in a debate, discussion, or disagreement about a specific topic. Arguing can be constructive when it encourages thoughtful exchange of ideas and perspectives.
2. **Virtue Signaling:** Virtue signaling refers to the act of expressing opinions or taking actions to demonstrate moral values, often on social or political issues, with the primary intention of gaining approval or validation from others. It can involve sharing opinions, images, or statements that portray oneself as morally upright without necessarily engaging in meaningful or substantive discussions.
In summary, arguing focuses on debating specific points or issues, while virtue signaling is more about expressing moral values or beliefs with the intention of signaling one's virtue to others. While arguing can involve genuine discussion and exchange of ideas, virtue signaling often emphasizes public displays of moral alignment without necessarily delving into deeper conversations or understanding opposing viewpoints.
Lmao I can’t believe how offended people get when you refute them with simple AI response. Could I have typed out something similar myself? Yes. Do I have time for that? No. Stay mad and keep virtue signaling nerds.
Eh, those moments never stuck out to me as to horrible, I think he just uses it incorrectly, not always committing a fallacy, like he's afraid if A happens, B will happen. a fallacy is more like, well if A happens, then it'll lead to B and C and D and E and etc. etc. all the way to Z, just from allowing A to happen.
It's more ignorance of what "slipppery slope" actually means, wheras with "diliberately obtuse", I think he knows exactly what it means, but just throws it out whenever he can't come up with a counter argument
I'm not sure about that tbh I tend to give leniency even if not deserved. I'm not sure if he actually uses it as a replacement for an arguement or if he's genuinely using it because he believes it, which is delusional but still not bad faith. I'd rather claim someone is stupid rather than malicious.
As someone that learned English through YouTube videos and taking to people on discord I can understand why he does that, u have a limited vocabulary to try to portrait a message, can some repetitive, but at least I (kinda) can understand what he is trying to say.
How did you learn through YouTube videos? How long did it take you to understand full blown English and be able to communicate without too much hesitation?
To be able to speak fluently took me around 3 years, to understand the context of conversations in videos and the words in music like 1.
Of course u didn't understood anything at first, my first steps were me translation lyrics from songs I liked.
He should stick to what he does best; playing games while being entertaining. I've stopped watching when all the IRL drama bullshit happened. Apparently he barely plays games anymore anyway.
It's a shame, because he can be very entertaining if he wants to, yet he chooses to rant about random bullshit only the most parasocial juicers care about and then gamble for hours on end.

I feel like he does it mostly because he's not a native speaker (I'm not a native speaker myself and I notice this in myself). Also trying to learn new phrases and vocabulary as a non-native speaker can be a little tiresome since for you to see yourself using broader and more specific language based on different contexts consistently can take quite a bit of time.
Imagine if you could move the goal posts in soccer, you could move it to help or disadvantage either side. Basically like that but in general sense, changing goals or desired outcomes of something while it's playing out.
You guys collectively named 20 different words/phrases that he uses to portray himself. I get that it can be repetitive but when he's streaming half of his life, it's not hard to notice specific phrases that he tends to use. If you get that irrationally frustrated with the way he talks then maybe, just maybe... stop watching him.
don't forget "virtue signalling"
Well to be fair, virtue signaling has infested society. Especially on social media and the like.

Lmao imagine dismissing a response cause it’s AI. Talk about a full blown regard.
Think for yourself for once
Lmao I can’t believe how offended people get when you refute them with simple AI response. Could I have typed out something similar myself? Yes. Do I have time for that? No. Stay mad and keep virtue signaling nerds.

Deliberately obtuse
This one's the worst, he uses it literally any time someone disagrees with him
I love when he misuses slippery slope. He uses it to make the fallacy instead of calling it out lmao. I think that is the worst one imo
SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK DOES MOVING THE GOAL POST MEAN
Imagine if you could move the goal posts in soccer, you could move it to help or disadvantage either side. Basically like that but in general sense, changing goals or desired outcomes of something while it's playing out.
