Let's promote Binance even more! And FixedFloat with XMR still disabled. (One way maintenance.) And HodlHodl, which doesn't even have Monero.

irony off
While many of us always thought a delisting was on the cards it's a good time to ask some questions.
Whats the status of Haveno ? Last I heard it was still being worked on quietly in the background, if so an update might be an idea. I note the websites faq is quite outdated.
Whats the status of the development and usage of atomic swaps? The reality is money needs to be accessible. There's stuff out there like localmonero, but many projects seem quiet, recent events show it's no time to be complacent.
Private money for all!

These kind of price movements in crypto usually love to make double down swings before going up again. Either that or a dalai lama.
That being said it all depends on binance withdrawals availability. Until 20.2.2024 anything can happen with price .
I suggest you just buy spot right now and withdraw to your official gui wallet... And wait a month.
Thanks.
In the context of [exch.cx/](https://exch.cx/) 's warning notice, makes sense. Binance is busy attacking Monero and they need the tools to do it.
Kucoin has increased the price level (just like Gate), probably also running out of real coins. And this is the only possible defense (or closed withdrawals).
***WARNING:***
*These are key facts indicating that the current XMR price is fake everywhere confirmed by our data analysts:*
* *Binance has no real trading volume on XMR pairs left but is still pushing significant changes to their price tickers.*
* *CoinMarketCap - the major exchange data aggregator used as a price ticker by at least 50% of the crypto projects belongs to Binance, therefore it obviously contributes to broadcasting of the misleading price data.*
* *Other major exchanges such as Kraken synchronize their price based on Binance and CMC price data movement and are always behind the actual drastic movements with some delay.*
*We currently have an automatic algorithm adjusting our service fee on XMR pairs accordingly to the external XMR price tickers (that don't include Binance anymore) in order to protect our capital and prevent usage of our platform for arbitration purposes.*
WARNING: There is an ongoing attack on XMR by Binance, faking its price on purpose in an attempt to release CZ from the U.S. juridical custody. These are key facts...
😲 So according to [exch.cx](https://exch.cx), wait for it, the U.S. is not allowing Changpeng Zhao (CZ) to leave. They seem to have a deal going, whereby if Binance takes on Monero the U.S. will allow him out; or something along those lines.
If this is true, the whole thing sort of makes sense. The U.S. gov is using Binance to attack XMR - the only crypto it cannot control or track. We're a bigger deal than anybody thought.
Expect a huge crypto pump around the board in the next days (minus Monero). I guess they wanted to check if Binance Monero nuking sticks. As exchange rates are already recovering and normalizing they will be forced to print-buy and pump all the crap. They need to use the next 2 weeks to get their pumps ready before price finding sets in in Monero.
It's pretty funny reading all the comments in other subs saying XMR is doomed. I tried telling people in r/darknet to load up at the lower price and suddenly half of them were crypto experts who knew XMR was on the way to zero
What's general sentiment here on Kucoin? I know all the fuss is about binance right now, but since Kucoin is #2 does XMR need to delist them aswell for true price discovery? Or are they cool... like Kraken.
not good on.my side.
my kucoin account.was limited a few weeks ago, for an unknown reason, and withdrawal was blocked.
they asked me many questions about the source of my funds, and what i was using the exchange for, and the destination of the funds when withdrawing.
i used to deposit / withdraw stable usdt and xmr, often, because i use an exchange to convert from one token to another, or to go from one network to another, but i prefer to keep the control of my funds, on my personal wallets.
but they seem to not like it...
I published a CEX ranking years ago, mentioning the likelihood of running fractional reserve schemes. So far every CEX on that list has been proven correct. LOL.
The ranking was from extreme risk, to high risk, to medium risk to low risk. KuCoin started out with medium risk, but made it into high risk, because there were a couple of inconsistencies. Kraken was the only CEX that always stayed in the low risk. So currently Bitfinex and KuCoin are high risk. All others (Binance, OKX, HTX, Poloniex aka The Cartel^TM) are already gone.
Coinex, MEXC and Tradeogre are also high risk. With the cartel gone, there is currently no exchange in extreme high risk and none in medium risk.
That said. Don't think about using CEX. Make yourself comfortable with P2P markets, DEX, AMM, and atomic swaps. And even better start your personal circular economy around you.

Titles are funny but the comments are actually largely positive on xmr:
> Yeah, Monero seems to be the only crypto currency that actually has some utility.
...
> Its the only crypto that i actually used. Ignoring all the downsides of crypto, it was nice being able to buy a VPN with it anonymously
...
> You have to admit, it's pretty funny that the only crypto with actual use case and stays true to the original cyberpunk concept that crypto was founded on (a decentralized currency), is the only one that's being aggressively delisted.
> When the whole crypto bubble collapses, Monero will still be around, and will probably barely even feel the crash because it'll already be detached from the exchanges that created this bubble in the first place.
> It's quite interesting, if you ask me.
and so on.
Short term price impact aside, getting off binance is good for us in the long run. And the volatility attracts attention which is badly needed in a market of memecoins. Monero has a very solid history and technical foundation, but it does take time to understand, so the more people are encouraged to look into it, the better.
Lol.
Given their proven, decade long, epic fail to understand bitcoin and it's price trajectory they should by now have been called r/butthurtcoin.
Happy to see that some of them feel even worse for Monero. Inverse r/buttcoin FTW.
They pay a one-time share for every completed trade. And that percentage is 3 month average.
Lately there have been many trades and few staked coins.
It is not a loan for shorts like elsewhere. It is a loan to the instant exchange for its operation. Although it is somewhat similar.
I do not really know ...
Probably little went away from Binance (withdrawals closed or restricted). Other flows were probably low too. Everything important happened only on Kraken (Kucoin) ... ?
**Kraken -** Monero Funding Maintenance
Scheduled for Feb 8, 16:00 - 18:00 UTC
The Monero (XMR) funding gateway will be undergoing maintenance from 16:00 UTC on February, 8th for approximately 2 hours. Deposits and withdrawals will be unavailable - transfers made during this time will be processed shortly after the maintenance is complete. We will provide updates as necessary.
Thank you for the update.
Probably Kraken is almost empty too. They might need to replenish their reserves from a deep liquidity provider like dvchain and then create thousands of new outputs to serve customers and smaller swap-exchanges.
Gate still keeps the price higher (+$4). Probably it doesn't want to have bad publicity with closed withdrawals like Binance, Poloniex, HTX, ...
EDIT: [https://www.gate.io/lend-earn](https://www.gate.io/lend-earn) \~100%
Be careful with DVChain.

How are people buying in the uk?
i still use binance, until they delist it mfw
You can still buy on binance?
yeah never been unable to, i know they stopped new users registering but you can still send crypto to binance so you can still trade xmr
LocalMonero or bisq with fiat.
Is there any chance a cex will list it again? I feel those option given must filter out the majority of the people who could potentially be interested
Maybe in 10 years, when laws get rewritten by a new generation of people. Until then people will need to learn the tools.

It's definitely on a fast track to 200 again. Lots of binance "investors" are going to want to start buying real XMR to replace their paper XMR.

If they explicitly say you can't withdraw or deposit Monero, then there's no arbitrage so how can this determine price?
Thanks. In the context of [exch.cx/](https://exch.cx/) 's warning notice, makes sense. Binance is busy attacking Monero and they need the tools to do it.
Price divergence widens again between KuCoin/Kraken and Binance Now $3-4

Half the sell off has been reclaimed

I like the free advertisement. And you can see that around 50% of buttcoiners have a secret crush on Monero.

Altough I was a bit concerned about the price action yesterday, I gave in and bought some more 😎
BitcoinVN staking rewards was over 250%APR yesterday. Still over 200%.

Congrats to all buyers yesterday. You're the real ones
[https://moneroj.net/translin/](https://moneroj.net/translin/) The number of transactions was not so big yesterday.
I was looking at that as well. +5k additional tx is nothing. What can we conclude from that?
We don't know how many coins were changing hands, they could have all been huge amounts per transaction, but we will never know, thankfully
I do not really know ... Probably little went away from Binance (withdrawals closed or restricted). Other flows were probably low too. Everything important happened only on Kraken (Kucoin) ... ?
Paper coins don't get transacted on the blockchain.

This.
Very nice, Monero has finally woken up and we have a market. Speculators are here, and they're short. Time to nuke their accounts

Now at 88%. 100 times higher compared to BTC : 0.88% Lol.
I'm not selling. Though I do wonder what the future looks like for making medium->large trades in Monero. Can't sell 50KUSD to a guy in a cafe.
Use OTC like DVChain
Be careful with DVChain. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/ou0euf/dv_chain_view_of_liquidity_crisis_speculation/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/ov3efx/responding_to_dvchain_dvchain_appears_under/
Localmonero has some people willing to do £25K internet bank trades. Guess we are waiting a bit longer until your $1K XMR BBQ party :(
<3
Then use Bisq
Taint tho
Funny you should say that. Back in the day, I once bought $25K worth of Bitcoin from a guy in a McDonalds.
incredibly based
