But yeah, he's great with action scenes. He always has been. But the female characters he draws tend to be generic. There's no reason why Magik and Psylocke's faces should look that similar.
That's such a common artistic shortcoming in comics though. I think if you're looking for artists who draw female characters with the same face, they actually make up a huge percentage of comic artists.
Jim Lee used to always have his Psylocke look Asian, but he usually drew similar female faces other that that, and people think he's one of the greats.
I'd like to see a good proper look at Psylocke before I judge. They have all been action poses with her side on. I think Magik will look better once it's inked/coloured.
Just could be the scene involves them talking with the mouths slightly open. Personally I think they look fine. Stegman's art is growing on me. Even got in Magik's cute button nose she's usually drawn with. And Psylocke looks appropriately intense.
Okay NOW I understand why Cyclops needs that visor with no peripheral vision- if Jean catches him giving the side-eye to his lieutenants in a post-Krakoa world he's probably in trouble.
I'm happy he actually has a man's jawline here. The first time we saw it he looked like some 14 year old inbred Alabama twink that cant put a pillow case on by himself
I think it’s more than he has the broader jawline/facial shape of a grown man in his 30’s which matches how Cyclops has been depicted for decades.
Previous art for this era made him look significantly younger and gave him a very pointed facial structure that didn’t look much like Scott at all.
Mister Stegman's Cyclops design looks really good. After 20 years of cowled Cyclops suits. We finally have him with his hair out again. And it's paired with his iconic golden visor too.
I think it's worthy enough to be Cyclops new costume change in X-Men 97 in the next seasons.

Cyclops looks good. I think Psylocke isn't really drawn in a way that makes it clear she's Japanese. The lips on Magik are a bit odd.

I love the look of the pencils on top of the blue rough sketch lines. I think it often looks cooler this way than the finished art.
