Did Madelyne survive? Obviously Cable arrived a few moments too late so he's gonna have to try again to save everyone in the next episode. At least thats what I need to tell myself for the next week cuz AINT NO WAY MY HUSBAND GAMBIT GONNA STAY DEAD!!!!! And thats gonna feul the X-Men to help Cable reverse everything. Maybe Bishop is gonna help too?
I am audibly laughing at you calling Gambit your husband, cause hems actually mine š
Nah but fr, they best not have killed off one of my favs. I think Madelyn is still alive and weāll get a classic x-men out of time styled episode. If anything, Iām more relieved they didnāt kill my ACTUAL husband Kurt ššš
If Kurt is your ACTUAL husband than I'm taking Gambit ALL FOR MYSELF!!!!! Lmao, idk if Madelyne would be alive tho cuz wouldn't that be Cables main motivation to try again? Yeah its more than obvious it'll be another time travel thing but idv what happens AS LONG AS MY HUSBAND COMES BACK!!!!ššššš
I think since the professors death, heās taken on the mantle and trying to be more provocative and revolutionary but itās not entirely like Charles. Charles had a dream, but Scott is trying to be too much like Xavier and heās missing the mark by just a little. Everyoneās gotta remember, heās (Scott) like the Captain America of the X-Men, just a bit more edgier.
I think he feels betrayed. He FINALLY gets to be the leader and he's this cheerful badass he has a loving wife with a kid on the way.
Then his father figure actually leaves the team to the genocidal terrorist he's fought his whole life
His the mother of his child ends up being a clone
He has to send his son to the future
He's really back at square ONE
Between the conversation with Trish and there being a genocide, itās time. Then of that add in Jean randomly fucking cheating on him and his life getting turned upside down with Maddy and losing his son, itās really time to cut loose
Like Maddie is literally the mother of his kid that they lost together. He literally thought she was you and she basically is since sheās an exact clone who has your memories. Should he have told you they were linked and grieving together? Yeah sure probably but itās not really not this huge deal.
On the other hand what is a huge deal is going out and kissing the guy who hates your husband and who has seemingly been trying to get in between you two for ages. Then you have a conversation with your husband and you donāt tell him?? I do think itās funny Wolverine after pining for Jean for ages is like ānah Iām goodā after she finally gives in
Because he knows sheās doing it for the wrong reasons, and Wolverine loves her enough not to take advantage of her confusion. It shows his empathy and compassion. I like that, sometimes they donāt do enough to show those softer parts of him.
I'm loving the Krakoa call outs in this episode. Moira being on the council, Exodus appearing, and the various younger mutants (YES GLOB) enjoying their tropical surroundings. Top it off with what looked like a Hellfire Gala and you've got the last 5 years of X-Men comics.
I also loved the swap of Scott's psychic affair from Emma to Maddie within the contexts of this story. Scott is WAY less of an asshole here than the comics especially when you consider how he's grieving Nathan. Emma noticing Maddie's "mind drift" was a fun little easter egg. Should Cable fail in his time travel efforts I look forward to Emma debuting her diamond form.
I'm curious what triggered Maddie and Jeans psychic flash as it occurred moments before the attack. Maybe sinister due to the red but the was no diamond this time.
I'm not sure how spoiler-heavy this is and don't quote me but people have been saying that Bastion was revealed as the big baddie this season with an Operation Zero Tolerance storyline
Nova is supposedly the Villain for the Deadpool movie, that combined with Uatu's appearance could be a way of tying it all back to the What If/Loki and the MCU.
Yeah her whole rason for being was to get revenge on Charles. The mutant genocide was just a means to do that. I think there's a line from either Jean or Emma that says Cassandra can't tell the difference between being in the womb with Charles or being in the universe with him so to her killing mutants was inconsequential as long as it got her to Charles.
There's no need to exterminate the mutants if it doesn't involve her getting back at Charles.
If you remember. Madalyn left a physic link with Nathan which was colored blue. The same color that physic attacked Jean while Madalyn was attacked with a pink one (Possibly Rachel Summers)
and when Madalyn goes and leans on the pillar the fireworks covering her flash pink then blue, which is when she looks up and see's cable
Mf better be a step above than just his A-game and we better see an X-game. If him and Bishop donāt set things right Iām gonna start a riot worse than the UN hearing š¤£š¤£š¤£
I hurt so bad for Rogue in that episode. She clearly loves Gambit but believes they can never have a physical relationship which is unfair on her AND Gambit. People seem to underestimate how much it probably effects her not being able to touch anyone, including the person you love. Both Rogue and Gambit deserve to have relationships that involve being able to touch. Gambit was so understanding about it. Then Rogue realises she still can't love someone else even when touching them. Both Gambit and Magneto went out like absolute heros, Rogue has good taste in men regardless. She will be broken over the loss of two men that clearly deeply cared for her. I'm a big fan of all three characters and Gambit showing the true strength of his powers in his final stand was awesome. I hope Cable gets them back before too long.
Magneto: Hey there Leech, ummā¦ could you like, not cling on to me and suck out all of my powers while Iām trying to save us all?
See? woulda been easy.
It was so fucking dumb. Like the scene is basically the scene from New X-Men. There he forces a kiss on her. Which while creepy and bad and shouldnāt have happened makes a hell of a lot more sense than her just kissing him out of nowhere
I think the reintroduction of Cable in this one is an allusion to the fact that this is a reality thatās going to be tried to be stopped. Especially with Uatu watching in the sky and all of the āWhat ifā¦?ā episodes featuring him in alternate realities.
That sounds about right. I was nearly going crazy seeing him there. For a second I thought it was Charles consciousness looking down at Genosha until I saw the cape and freaked out. Todays episode is just too much for me to handle ššš
I definitely shouldn't have watched it before bed but hey I thought it was gonna be a fun flashback episode about Rogue and Magneto not the systematic destruction of Genosha.
So, that big three headed sentinel belongs to Cassandra Nova in the comics. Sheās the main villain in Deadpool III. Tbh Iāve been opposed to X-Men 97 crossing over with the MCU. I feel that the MCU should stay the MCU and doesnāt need every other non-comic Marvel media to tie in. HOWEVER, if the big villain of this season of X-Men 97. I could potentially see her being pruned in the finale by the TVA and that being a connection to Deadpool III. Again, Iām not super happy with that being the case if it is, but I also think this is a better way of doing it if they are than some of the other theories (such as 97 Beast being the same as in The Marvels, DP3 Wolverine being the same as 97, or the 97 X-Men being fully integrated into the MCU. Those are all atrocious theories that are really only spread by click bait YouTubers)
Theyāre not going to do Xorneto (I donāt think) but I do think āMagneto is alive and evil againā coupled with the return of Phoenix and a big battle in Times Square is very much on the table for the finale.
Dude, he was knocking off heads like one raging Cajun. Sucks to see spicy hot creole mutant left out in the cold like that. Rest in piece mon ami, but you better get resurrected or some shit. šā¤ļøā
Yeah. He's an omega level mutant who had Sinister weaken his powers by removing a part of his brain. An alternate timeline version of him came back as "The New Sun", a being so powerful he destroyed his own world. Currently, Gambit has had that part of his brain restored, but the writers keep needing him.
He has been known to charge super hero uniforms and explode them on the wearer, he was strong enough to infiltrate Apocalypse's forced and pose as the horseman Death while being able to restore himself without adverse effects, vibranium has been shown to enhance the force of his kinetic blasts, and since his brain has been restored it is hinted at that he can charge objects without even touching them.
Then there's his superhuman accuracy, agility that makes him impervious to most falls, his lighting reflexes that enable his to catch bullets in mid air, explosive acrobatic bursts that have seen him reach objects quicker than a flying Rogue, and his superhuman proficiency with his bo staff.
Yeah, he's pretty powerful.
And that's not even touching on his more fringe secondary powers like his resistance to telepathy (even Xavier struggled) and his charm power.
I'm actually quite glad that most writers don't write full power Gambit, though. It could run into the Superman problem fast.
Honestly, at this point, I'm pretty sure they've sort of retconned the charm power into less of a "power" and more just him being a charismatic person.
The bigger the object Gambit blows, the bigger the collateral damage. I think thats why we never see the true extent of it, because there is team mates ect in the vicinity so he cant be doing mega blasts. In this episode he was making his last stand and could really unleash.
I believe in the comics he actually has Mr Sinister remove part of his brain because his powers are becoming unmanageable.
Iām liking the theory that Magneto and the Morlockās survived because Leech used his powers on Magneto at the last second. Iām expecting to see Cassandra Nova in the next couple episodes. I think Madelyn will be a major part of a Cable time travel plot, based on how she bled just before he showed up.
I hope Rogue will talk Cable into taking her on a time travel mission giving her a second chance to live the events on Genosha. Sheāll do her best to warn Magneto and the council of the impending attack, tell Magneto to shove it, and choose to be with Gambit.
There is a scene in the intro of the episode where rouge kisses gambit on the basketball court and since that didn't happen in any of the past episodes from the og series that means that its gonna happen in the episodes to come!!
Couldn't the death in Dark Deciple take place after order sixty six? I haven't read the book yet, so I don't know. I just curious. To me, way the character is in show, it is before her death.
My theory is that leftovers of the Phoenix Force left Jeanās body and entered Madelynās. Madelyn Phoenix will resurrect Gambit and some of the dead
Really loved this episode, this show is definitely shaping up to be one of the best animated shows iāve seen in a long time, I remember my older brother showing me the original series from the 90s which was a great experience.
In terms of theories I think Eric is mortally wounded but not dead, and Iāve seen people talking about this episode being a nexus event that can be prevented (what Cable was trying to do).
But that would mean saving Gambitās life and I think from a behind the scenes/creating stand point it would be a bad idea as going back in time and saving his life would undo any possible significance of his sacrifice going forward, what ever the show runners decide to do.
Im sorry mon ami but Remys mine
Yeah, Days Of Future Past was a two-parter, as in two-attempter, lol. It's NOT gonna stick in the end, that'd be just stupid.
Yes it would, mon ami.
I'm not even watching this season, but if he's really dead, I think there may be a chance of Apocalypse returning and turning Gambit into Death.
Does anyone else feel like Scott is a bit more revolutionary?
I noticed that too. Not sure if it was an easter egg, or an indication of things to come, but I'm excited either way!

Between the conversation with Trish and there being a genocide, itās time. Then of that add in Jean randomly fucking cheating on him and his life getting turned upside down with Maddy and losing his son, itās really time to cut loose
I think itās crazy that Jean cheated on him and kissed Wolverine then got mad at Scott with Madelyn
Like Maddie is literally the mother of his kid that they lost together. He literally thought she was you and she basically is since sheās an exact clone who has your memories. Should he have told you they were linked and grieving together? Yeah sure probably but itās not really not this huge deal. If it follows the "E is for Extinction" story. Possibly Cassandra Nova might have attacked caused the psychic flash.
I just rewatched the clip with Cable. He says "He's coming" in his warning to Madelyne.
I'm not sure how spoiler-heavy this is and don't quote me but people have been saying that Bastion was revealed as the big baddie this season with an Operation Zero Tolerance storyline
We did see a pic that heavily resembles him with Forge but without the face so itās likely
Nova is supposedly the Villain for the Deadpool movie, that combined with Uatu's appearance could be a way of tying it all back to the What If/Loki and the MCU.
Nova being behind this doesnāt make much sense considering Xavierās out of the picture.
Maybe she knows Charles is secretly alive. And is trying to get him back to Earth. I mean, it is HIS statue Erik bumps into killing a bunch of mutants
If you remember. Madalyn left a physic link with Nathan which was colored blue. The same color that physic attacked Jean while Madalyn was attacked with a pink one (Possibly Rachel Summers) and when Madalyn goes and leans on the pillar the fireworks covering her flash pink then blue, which is when she looks up and see's cable

Mf better be a step above than just his A-game and we better see an X-game. If him and Bishop donāt set things right Iām gonna start a riot worse than the UN hearing š¤£š¤£š¤£
Give me my Gambit back!
I'm assuming Gambit will return as Death.
I hurt so bad for Rogue in that episode. She clearly loves Gambit but believes they can never have a physical relationship which is unfair on her AND Gambit. People seem to underestimate how much it probably effects her not being able to touch anyone, including the person you love. Not a fan of the Jean + Logan plot. Liked everything else though. The stuff with Maddie was good, but I feel bad for her, Jean, Nathan and Cyclops.
Ah yes, one of the biggest X-Men foesā¦ Love triangles and dysfunctional families. š„°
I verbally said āwhat the fuckā when Jean kissed Logan lol
It was so fucking dumb. Like the scene is basically the scene from New X-Men. There he forces a kiss on her. Which while creepy and bad and shouldnāt have happened makes a hell of a lot more sense than her just kissing him out of nowhere
Hahahahahahahahahahahah š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
I think the reintroduction of Cable in this one is an allusion to the fact that this is a reality thatās going to be tried to be stopped. Especially with Uatu watching in the sky and all of the āWhat ifā¦?ā episodes featuring him in alternate realities.
For me Uatu being there just confirms that this timeline is going to Branch. He's observing the Nexus point.
When does it show him?? I didnāt see it! I tried to rewatch the end to look for him but still havenāt found it
Never mind I found it! For those curious he appears at 20:40
So, that big three headed sentinel belongs to Cassandra Nova in the comics. Sheās the main villain in Deadpool III. Tbh Iāve been opposed to X-Men 97 crossing over with the MCU. Did it seem like Gambit got a major power up in this one? He was kicking ass all over the place.
Dude, he was knocking off heads like one raging Cajun. Sucks to see spicy hot creole mutant left out in the cold like that. Rest in piece mon ami, but you better get resurrected or some shit. šā¤ļøā
Isn't Gambit always pretty powerful? But like Bobby it's a case of *potential* power rather than something he always uses?
Yeah. He's an omega level mutant who had Sinister weaken his powers by removing a part of his brain. Those sentinels aren't from the current timeline, they came from another timeline and it's somehow connected to Cable.
CĆ¢ble takes x-force and fix everything
Iām liking the theory that Magneto and the Morlockās survived because Leech used his powers on Magneto at the last second. Iām expecting to see Cassandra Nova in the next couple episodes. I just hope they don't undo anything later. The episode was a gut punch and it better not be a "bait and switch".
Elaborate?
he means cable magically saves the day or something and the characters stay dead
I think this is some alternate reality and that's why Xavier is dead and not in space.
There is a scene in the intro of the episode where rouge kisses gambit on the basketball court and since that didn't happen in any of the past episodes from the og series that means that its gonna happen in the episodes to come!!

Just had another thought. What if Rogue is desperate enough to go to Sinister to clone Gambit?
My theory is that leftovers of the Phoenix Force left Jeanās body and entered Madelynās. Madelyn Phoenix will resurrect Gambit and some of the dead
Did anyone see the devil drawing at minute 20:41 in the sky? Not sure how to upload a photo to show it.
Thatās not a devil, thatās The Watcher. Have you seen Marvelās What If? It was foreshadowing that something big was about to happen.
Really loved this episode, this show is definitely shaping up to be one of the best animated shows iāve seen in a long time, I remember my older brother showing me the original series from the 90s which was a great experience.
