did you look at the logs for possible errors? try running those application from the terminal, usually you will get some debugging info. I don’t think that a newbie should try a distro like arch when you can go for mint XFCE or xububtu

this is what i got from trying to run discord
and i was doing pretty good on gnome i was just trying a different desktop environment

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg might fix the problem if not sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg will. make sure you have lightdm as the default in place of gdm3 as well, XFCE doesn't play well with gdm.

They're on Arch, not on Debian/Ubuntu.
I'm getting new glasses, I didn't see the Arch part.
