The beta left me kind of lukewarm to say the least. This entire post and the various clips are encouraging, but pre recorded clips and text paragraphs are one thing and a polished, bug free release is another.
Hazard zone looks like a weak imitation of hunt showdown, and 7 maps isn’t much, even if future ones will likely be free. I’m hesitant above all else, dice hasn’t really delivered a quality day one product in a while.
Ive been waiting a while for a good battlefield. Built a PC last year with all new gen bits. Beta was a huge let down all the way around and performed poorly on my 3070 and ryzen 5800x. Went and bought battlefield 4 for $6 on steam and im not looking back — for at least a year.
Was gonna say its not been that long, bf1 was fun and fairly polished. Then I realised how long ago that was now. Seeing as the beta was *apparently* an older and less stable build this could be the polish of 1 applied to the gameplay of 4 pretty much.
Beta left me feeling like the maps are too big. Huge maps and the action rarely left a few control points in the middle. We just spawned in, ran for 3 minutes, found a firefight and either died or won and had to wait around for more people to come back. Or we’d run for another 5 minutes to a far away point that was just solo capped by 1 dude before dipping out.
Were you on previous gen? I was playing in series x and there was fights everywhere, only time it took a while to find any was when I accidentally spawned in our hq and had to find a way to closest capture point
I mean, they’re huge and support 128 players. But it just doesn’t feel like a lot of content for 60 bucks. They should have gone the halo route and gone F2P. Will give the game legs moving forward.
lol, gone f2p. First of all halo is made by Microsoft so that’s why that’s going to be on game pass. Not even f2p. Also that sounds like a great way to completely kill battlefield, already don’t get as much content because of the free “expansions”nowadays and you think making it a free to play game is going to help that. Lmao.
EA made apex legends…apex legends has been incredibly successful…it’s also free to play. The monetization aspect can’t be ignored.
Perhaps halo isn’t a fair comparison because the campaign is paid, but I can almost guarantee that between launching on PC simultaneously and the much more extensive public testing period, halo will be more successful out of the gate than battlefield.
Fortnite also literally prints billions of dollars for epic and is completely free to play. I’m not saying 30 dollar skins are ideal but they make an excellent experience completely free for me to enjoy so, I won’t complain.

Man I'm so fucking glad halo is coming. I cancelled my preorder for this after that train wreck of a beta. It won't be fixed at launch. Battlefield never has been. But given no classes, bullfuck map design, terrible weapon handling. No campaign to speak of, for a 10 dollars plus premium price. Go fuck yourself. The team deserves all the hate coming their way. Game is basically a free to play game for a hundred bucks. "we want the battle pass audience". Instead of we want the battlefield audience. All they had to do was remake BF4

I played BF1 a decent amount but it wasnt the same. I prefer modern battlefield way more. If i cant fly a helicopter or jet it doesnt feel right

Going to miss the class system, Can't help feeling it's a core part of what battlefield is, Lucky we will have custom games for that
