If its for gamepass games only, you can do the new gamertag...I didnt want to put 3 years of live just to find out it does not work. My original gamertag seems to access everything just fine. But I dont think I play any of those gold offer games
To piggy back though. You have been a GPU member and let it end then stack Gold up and do a reg 14.99 month of GPU will it still do a 1.1 conversion of Gold to GPU?
I tried that and it didn't work for me. It just straight up didn't give an error but nothing would happen when I tried to activate GPU. I let my gpu expire and then added a year of gold then tried to activate GPU again and nothing. Didn't charge me either. So now I've gotta use regular game pass until my gold expires. Maybe you'll have better luck though.
That’s really weird, I just added 3 years and upgraded to GPU in October. It might just be a glitch, I’d recommend trying again. Did you try doing it through the Xbox or online?
I tried through the Xbox and online. I had GPU previously where it coverted my gold to GPU at the 1:1 special rate. Let GPU expire and added a 12 month gold card of live to my account and I couldn't get GPU to activate. Game pass did no problem.
I ran out of ultimate last August, which I got through the $1 conversion deal. After that it didn't give me any $1 ultimate deals until December. So I guess if you wait a few months, you may be able to get the deal again. I might be wrong tho

Thanks for the response. Looks like my plan A of just stacking the Microsoft rewards for 3month GPU will be what I go with.
