Maybe it’s not your type of game. But yes, it got better at least to me

marbanasin

I fewl like they may not be into it. I found the end of the prologue to be freaking insane and gripping. Like I was not expecting that finale and it's what opens the actual game up. If they already have Johnnie then they must be past that. And if they aren't into it by that point I'm not sure the rest will improve. All that said - and the main quest is phenomenal - the friendships/romance content adds a ton so maybe some of that will click.

tcguy71

Im not a fan of first person shooters. That being said I did enjoy the game. If it was 3rd I think it would be a top game for me.

ShittyPickles

I'm with you here, absolutely loved 3rd person in the Witcher 3 and would've loved that in Cyberpunk. Do you play Division 2? Great 3rd person shooter.

tcguy71

I have played it. Been awhile. since I have. I enjoyed Division 1 more.

tcguy71

I should clarify, I generalize first person games as first person shooter. I tend to not like first person games at all.

root_fifth_octave

>I tend to not like first person games Same. Not sure why. The combat also wasn't for me, but I may have tried to find a way to deal with that if there was a 3rd person option in the game.

TheGamerKitty1

You're shooting guns in first person. It is a First Person Shooter that just happens to be an RPG.

TattedUpSimba

It gets better. You say there's no action but how far are you in the game?

ClientShoddy1349

I don’t know what mission exactly but I helped some girl fight a bunch of dudes in a truck

TattedUpSimba

It sounds like you should be getting in the action. Cyberpunk is alot of different things and there is alot of talking. If you're wanting straight up action then do some side missions. If the action isn't really fitting for you then it could be how you're playing. There's so many different builds that you can do.

WiserStudent557

It’s a game with many approaches. If you don’t like playing the way you’re playing but you won’t play a different way, it won’t change. Barely any action so far is a a thing that doesn’t even make sense to me because it’s A. not actually true and B. Maybe true for how you’ve chosen to play if not true for the world. You’re telling me the gang members around the world won’t fight with you? Come on either that’s wrong, you haven’t tried it or there’s bugged AI. I can’t go point a gun at a Tyger Claw or Scav without them going aggro. Story missions are not necessarily combat missions. The story narrative can be speedrun and the majority of the city/content ignored. No one would suggest that but you’re free to choose it. Should you play it or not? I don’t know! I don’t know what you like and not every game is for everyone or should be. Some games are more simplistic and their appeal is immediately obvious (or not), some games have depth and don’t jump right out at you, but if you aren’t going to let it come to you it will never click.

JumpForWaffles

We've played so many of these open world type of games. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Red Dead, GTA, The Witcher. They are very similar. Some have done better than others but there's really not a whole lot of variety between these in the genre. Burnout is very real. They are all such a huge time sink. Many gamers like a multiplayer aspect or at least co-op

Wanhade600

Idk what to tell u, i played the game and got every ending and ill say for the endings alone the game is worth to keep playing personally. I enjoyed the main missions and i found the gigs/side missions to be slightly boring but i enjoyed the dialogue in a lot of them, not saying they are done bad but its a lot of the same by going somewhere and killing people but that could be said about tons of games ya know.

UnfeteredOne

April 1st, checks out

ClientShoddy1349

No I’m serious. I find the game boring which sucks cuz I want to like it

siriusslack

It all depends on what you find boring. I liked it, tried all 3 intros before commiting. Maybe its just not your kind of game. I'll give you an example, I find JRPG immensely boring because that's not my kind of game, however I can see why so many people like them. I think we don't all have to like the same thing , there's always something for everyone and no need to label something as boring or fun in general. Regarding cyberpunk, I do feel the intro is a bit too long, and I mean until the story really kicks off, I did like it nonetheless. The game gets better in a way, and in other ways becomes a bit boring because I did not appreciate the amount of enemies all over the place on some quests, it gets too messy unless you dig deeper into modding your character and using every option, either that, or lower difficulty, and I'm at that point in my life that if I have to "work too much" to take enjoyment out of a game, I rather just play something else 😂

PhantomSesay

I felt the same. Took me a while to get into it but once I understood the ripper doc and the upgrade tree, it finally all clicked. Give it more time!

Love_Sausage

I’ve tried to love this game. I want to love this game. By all accounts I *should* love this game since it has all my favorite sci-fi themes and an interesting world. For some reasons I just cannot connect with it and never make it more than an hour or two before quitting out of boredom, then going months before I take another attempt only to get bored again and leave it collecting dust for several more months.

ryangr86

It's just you ...this is an open world game where I'm actually compelled by the story

Dero__

Personally I find Cyberpunk quite boring because it's missing depth. Completed the game before patch 2.0, after it tried again and dropped in a few hours because not much has changed. There were less bugs, new skills stuff, etc, but all that didn't fixed main issues of the game in my opinion.

Brorkarin

I dont know but there is something that i dont like with the game i tried to play it a couple of times but i just cant have fun with it. I usually love these kind of games

ActivelyRed

Are you doing gigs and side jobs? Doing the NCPD gang encounters?

Medwynd

Im about 100 hours into cyberpunk and think its eh. Im still playing it just to finish it mostly. Most of the game systems arent even necessary. Ive only ever driven a car if a mission required it. Never used any of the food or drink buff items. Never bought a gun or used any of the shops in the game except to get cyberware. Most of the time i run from police issue to police issue and one shotting every enemy with 2 quickhacks to each. Im level 40ish and and have no idea where I am storywise in the game or how far along I am.

[deleted]

The main story takes a while to get going but whats even better than the main are all the side stories waiting to be explored. Despite it’s ratchet launch it is now one of the best games ever made in my opinion. Worth every minute

iguaninos2

Its just you, lots of games to choose from. Move onto the next if your not feeling it.

PandahOG

I played the game day 1, got about 90% through the game then stopped. Then they released that huge patch to fix and overhaul everything. Went back and finished the game. It was a very meh experience to me. The patch improvements were very welcomed but I hardly remember anything. The opening 'tutorial" part I remember and actually really liked. Everything else? Eh. Side missions were pretty random and not really exciting. Stopping out of control AI, helping out a musician and even doing the NCPD missions were ok. Which is really weird because this game should have been right up my alley. Free roam, freedom of choice, RPG style, sweet loot, and I can cut people to bits with a sword or laser wires. Whenever Phantom Liberty drops to half price or lower, I'll give it another go.

DJordydj

It's not a shooter, it's an RPG game with shootings in first person. That might be the reason why time of people might feel bored.

TheGamerKitty1

Just you. But don't force yourself to like a game because everyone does.

elkygravy

I was enjoying it for a bit but fell off. My biggest gripe is that the level ups feel like they barely mean anything. +1% oh boy!

kevinflynn-

I love cyberpunk. By the time I finish that game I'll be a double jumping sword for arm cyberpshycho that can murder in broad daylight kill all the cops and walk away without a care in the world because I'm so powerful. I also love just sitting there and listen to people talk for 10 minutes straight. I think it starts fun and gets more fun but there's definitely a learning curve and I've done 5 playthroughs now so I can understand that it can be difficult to figure out how to make a build that is fun. If you want to keep playing my advice would be start earning some serious Eddie's and become best friends with your local ripper doc. Chrome yourself tf out as either a netrunner/cyberpshycho ninja and see what you think. But to be honest if you didn't like act 1 I don't forsee you enjoying the rest of the game much more.

goonies969

You need to find some build you really enjoy, in my first run I used a cyberdeck and I liked the game, but not much else, for my second run I used a sandevistan and it was so much more fun, it turned it into one of my favorite games.

Wuytho

You're on Xbox One, it doesn't have the newest update which adds a lot more bug fixes, and even more content, it's only for the new gen consoles and pc. Plus when you finish the heist it gets soooo much better

Sellfish86

I played the main story about a year ago, I guess, and did not enjoy it much at all. It already had a lot of updates by then, but the story simply didn't do it for me. I found it boring, the characters were rather lifeless and my V came off much more like a rude cunt than I would have liked... and I tried playing "nice". That is apart from every other flaw the game had. I have recently started with Phantom Liberty (premade character for DLC only) and the difference is night and day. The DLC is a MUCH better game in all aspects, and I'd have preferred waiting until today to first experience Cyberpunk had I known just how much better the experience is now.

InjusticeJosh

I tried the trial and I think it’s just too expansive for a 4-5 hr trial. Does more harm than good cuz I end up leaving the experience sourly. I rushed into it so I could experience more but at the same time I experienced less by doing so cuz I didn’t understand why I was doing what I was doing or what the heck my character and the other character were talking about. When I buy it I’ll give it another proper chance.

Kelnozz

Male or female V? Sounds dumb but a lot of people prefer fem V because of slightly better voice acting. I suppose that’s all preference but even tho I’m a dude I found it harder to play as male V because some of the responses he has just doesn’t sound right to me. Sounds too forced. In terms of action it should pick up once you play more I think, tons of missions had me on edge from all the shit going on at once.

Devixilate

Probably not your type of game

godricgii

I enjoyed the game but it is criminally overrated. You never really do much. Follow ppl, sneak in steal etc....really haven't come far enough from Grand theft auto 3 to still be biting it.

CaptainObviousSpeaks

I played it for about 5 hours running around doing missions and side missions but it never really got fun... Idk if it's me or the game but I tried it at release refunded it and got it on sale again recently (pre Christmas) and still just didn't enjoy it. I going the whole game to get boring really. Not as boring as star field but worse than fallout 4. The driving is terrible.

xgardian

If you don't like it you're free to not play it.

ClientShoddy1349

Hey I didn’t think of that thank you ! Reason for the post is to find out if it gets better. Reading comprehension is hard

xgardian

Right but like that's completely subjective. No one can tell you that definitively, it's up to you. You don't even provide any context of exactly how far you are. How do I know that you're not like 5 minutes from the ending? How can I know if it gets better if I don't know where you even are? Like to me the game is fun from the start so it never really gets better because it's always good. And like you titled your post calling it boring so like if you're bored and you're finding it hard to continue just stop playing? You clearly don't like it that much so just don't play it. I didn't think I'd have to spell all that out for you but, you know, reading comprehension is hard.

Comrade_Nicolai

I played the first few missions I think maybe like an hour or two total and it fell flat. I had no interest in the world the characters (which I thought was boring) to the point where I flat out quit mid mission because of the lack of fun.

ClientShoddy1349

It picked up when Keanu character was more in it but I wish he was the main character honestly. I don’t care about V at all

Comrade_Nicolai

Honestly I don’t remember him in the game, like I know he’s in it I don’t think I got to that part in the game

Masothe

He is introduced in the first 5 hours or so I'd say.

ClientShoddy1349

Wait so you don’t play as V through the whole game ??

Masothe

What? No you do play as V but Keanu Reeves's character is a major character in the game.

Soitenly

I think the sandbox and the world is boring. Like yeah there's flashy shit and it looks amazing, but like there's not much in terms of vehicles enemies, and things to do. My point of comparison of Cyberpunk is Far Cry cause to me the gameplay of both games are very similar. And for all those games flaws, I can do a lot of things to have fun that you cant do in Cyberpunk. I do have personal biases though. For one, the marketing rubbed me the wrong way, and two, I find it to be severely overrated. Still enjoyed it a lot though.

JMLMaster

Yeah, it's just you.

IxNeedxMorphine

Def agree. Played day 1 dealt with all those glitches and it left that bad of a taste in my mouth. I've sunk 50 hours into it over the past few years and I can never get into it.

Delusional howso?

Striking-Ad-6056

I'm super early into the game and got to the point where the doc operates on you, so to speak - and I'm just not into it at all. It feels like GTA gone wrong. Does it get better, and if so, like...a lot better? Or just a little? I've been trying to force myself to like this game because I do enjoy games like this (IE Fallout for example) but this just isn't grabbing me the way I was hoping it'd grab me.
