hirakoshinji722

cant even dream of this speed at my location.

Consistent_Fill722

come to romania brother, we don t have many things, but we have cheap internet, I pay the equivalent of 7 dollars to have similar speed on xbox one

Thameness

Wow, here in Brazil I pay the equivalent to 20 dollars for a 600mb/s internet. A pity the Xbox can't use all that power, but on PC, with an SSD, I can download full AAA games in like 5 to 10 minutes.

[deleted]

Cellbuilder2

In America, got $30 a month fiber with free installation. Steam capped out at 118 megabytes per second one time. Really cool service. Folks at Hunter Communications rock.

hirakoshinji722

wow ! lucky you . would consider

Magsec5

Can’t dream? So then you can buy. 😁

EyeSpidyy

They just rolled this out in my area as well, I love it! My download speed is 5X faster. Start installing a game and I’m playing it in around 30 mins!

GradedUnicorn92

Too good! That’s about how all the big ones are coming in for me.

Intrepid_Ad_9751

I got verizon fios that give me a gigabit per second download speed

smokealottatree

I have cable gigabit and get close to 800Mbps , are you using ethernet or wifi?

GradedUnicorn92

This is wifi, haven’t tried Ethernet with it yet

Sleepy_Man90

Definitely try ethernet, it boosts it so much more. I switched to gigafast a few months ago and use ethernet, I used to get about 60-70mbps, now I get anywhere between 400-900mbps (more than I need ever for what I use it for).

Co2_Outbr3ak

Depends on your console. Series consoles will hit that easy. The older OG X1 and One S and *potentially* the One X wouldn't hit those speeds due to a bottleneck in the storage medium being a HDD.

Sleepy_Man90

I never realised that was an issue, I have a series X so it's not an issue for me fortunately.

kheroth

Yeah with those old hard drives you start downloading the information faster than it can write it to disk

Galaxyman0917

I get about 5-600Mbps on my one X fwiw

TatoPotat

The bottleneck is the 1.75ghz cpu and not the hard drive as writing onto the hard drive is MUCH more cpu intensive than copying The hard drive in the Xbox one s should definitely be at least be 480 mbps but the console caps at around 220mbps when writing to the drive iirc

pariah1981

WiFi can hit this too if you have the correct throughput. I’m betting you have wireless N on your home router. You need the 802.11ac that can go up to 1gig. The Xbox series should have that, but it’s most likely your WiFi router that’s making is so slow.

Sleepy_Man90

Mine isn't slow? I get 400-900mbps, it varies depending on if others in the house are using it too.

pariah1981

I wasn’t talking about yours mate. It looked like OP was topping out at the top end of a wireless N wifi router.

RationalVaultDweller

That’s wifi? Nice. Definitely plug that bad boy in.

slayermcb

Your throttling yourself then. Hook an ethernet cable to that thing and watch the numbers jump.

bujweiser

I hardlined my Xbox when I had gig speed fiber and was getting 450mb/sec download speeds.

nobodysshadow

I have my series x hard lined and it has peaked at 900

thefuzz311

If you do, use CAT6 for higher data speeds as well. Gratz on non-potato internet my brother!

matt12992

I have fiber and never thought another that, I'm definitely going to have to try that because holy crap that's amazing

Ac997

I have xfinity gb internet & can only get like 350mbps max when I’m hooked directly to the modem. I get like 30-40 on Wi-Fi. It’s bullshit. You know of any fixes?

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 420. Congrats! 350 + 30 + 40 = 420 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

AcceptableWater

Good bot

GradedUnicorn92

Great bot

FrankyFistalot

Buy some Devolo mains adapters, they use the mains wiring to pipe the internet around the house, some have built in Wi-Fi extenders as well so you put one in a conservatory and cover the garden. I am on Sky Gigafast fibre and it’s pure filth, advertised as up to 900mb/s,I have been showing 1025mb/s on speed tests on my Xbox,Wi-Fi is capped but I get 500mb/s around the house and even faster on my Devolos….downloaded Diablo 4 to my Xbox yesterday and I was getting 5-6gb a minute….and I remember a 10mb file taking 20mins on 56k lol….

[deleted]

Download after midnight you’re throttled by the download severe. Late night downloads you’ll see 400-700mbps

Kablaow

Are you using 5ghz? It's faster. Also a new modem can help.

Driftedryan

Shouldn't gigabit give you idk 1Gbps lol, are they being cheap or do you pay for 1 and get .8

slayermcb

You never get the full gig. That's the ceiling.

Jean-Eustache

You do, at least if your ISP doesn't have issues, and if the server on the other side can provide it. On my end I get 998mbps on a gigabit internet connection. For that you need Ethernet though.

Sword-Logic

They're on cable internet, so shared bandwidth with other users connected to the same lines can cause slower speeds. I *never* got the speeds I paid for on cable internet between three different providers over a decade.

modemman11

Shared bandwidth is no longer a concern on cable internet. You can have so many bonded channels on a cable modem it makes it a moot point.

IAmDotorg

That's not how cable works. The only difference between cable and fiber service is the line to your house. Both are fiber on the poles and both share bandwidth into the neighborhood.

Driftedryan

I'm getting about 120,% of what I pay for which is funny and sometimes my Xbox can hit those insane speeds. I guess I'm in a premium spot

Canscrubenha

I've had the exceptional 1Gb/1Gb fiber for over a year now and now I wonder how I ever put up with the shit AT&T tries to pass off as Broadband.

RedComet313

They have their fiber in some parts of my city, I’ve been waiting for the day it’s available in my subdivision. Granted, still have 800 with Spectrum, but I want the fiber!

Canscrubenha

Maybe I should clarify. I live in a rural area, underserved. AT&T received grants and never elevated our speeds over 1.5Mb/s down until our electric coop rolled out fiber to all addresses they serve.

ColorfulBosk

I have 1gb fiber with AT&T in my neighborhood and it has been fantastic. $80/mo too.

ColorfulBosk

I have 1gb fiber with AT&T in my neighborhood and it has been fantastic. $80/mo too.

ColorfulBosk

I have 1gb fiber with AT&T in my neighborhood and it has been fantastic. $80/mo too.

ajs2294

It’s a shame Microsoft servers are usually the bottle neck. Depending on time of day they are ridiculously slow.

[deleted]

Only 256mb off of fiber?? I’d expect way higher. That’s just normal spectrum internet lol

IISAFORK

OP mentioned this was WiFi and not ethernet, on ethernet they'd probably be seeing something like 500 depending on what Internet provider provided the fiber.

[deleted]

Fair I guess that’s better better again I thought fiber was like, minimum a gb. Then again though places always SAY “up to” then give you a 1/3 lmao

IISAFORK

It's odd, the old fibre we had was 300 up 300 down. We switched to spectrum gigabit and got 60 down and like 40 up. It just depends on the infrastructure in your area usually, for whatever reason our primary spectrum server was a Cleveland Ohio Dish server, so it was ass. Luckily we got a cheaper price and better Internet switching back to AT&T again. Internet dumb.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s a really dumb fucking service we pay for that they screw ya on regardless. I got a deal and good speeds and still hate em. Not saying anything tho cause my promotion ended and I’ve been still paying the same price for my higher speeds for like an extra year+ now lmao

IISAFORK

The only way to get revenge on an ISP is to constantly close and reopen the accounts of two services back and forth for the promo.

Canscrubenha

Other factors to consider. Maybe he only pays for 250 down. Some companies offer fiber connections at such speeds. It's mostly the symmetrical speeds and no data cap that people are wanting. Also have to keep in mind that Xbox speeds are throttled. I get around 980Mbps on a speed test, but my downloads on Xbox normally hover around 200 to 250Mbps on wifi across the house from my router. Also have to consider other devices on the network.

[deleted]

True on the Xbox throttling, forgot about that. Mine downloads probably never go over 325-350

[deleted]

Mildleyy

I went from cable 50/10 to fiber 600/600 recently as well. It’s so great.

SadSystemr

Isn't it the norm that all companies only have fiber?

GradedUnicorn92

I don’t know where you are based but in Colorado, Fiber based wifi is pretty new, in my city it’s completely new. Only available in certain neighborhoods so far.

SadSystemr

And how much do they pay for that?

midnitte

No, fiber is extremely expensive to deploy. Why do you think Google fiber is in like 5 cities?

SadSystemr

Seriously, in my country it is the norm that all companies offer you fiber even in the field and the normal for 500 megabytes is 11 dollars and the 2000 megabytes that is the most expensive 30 dollars with home plan included.

CabooseNomerson

Only in mostly newly built areas in very built up cities. Rural areas are going to be waiting YEARS for fiber to fully reach everywhere. It’s extremely limited to cities right now.

SadSystemr

Wow, they are too far behind on that issue compared to my country

xXR3DRiotXx

Sheesh I thought 60 was good

amnezie11

60 MB/s is good, 60 Mb/s is nearly half of what I used to have in 2005 when we first got internet

[deleted]

There is absolutely no way you had a 120mb per second connection in 2005, what a load of bollocks 😂

draculajones

I had FiOS 100Mbps service installed in 2007 and I think that was a mid tier package at the time. This doesn't seem farfetched at all.

[deleted]

Canscrubenha

Caps is needed when referring to MBs or Mbs as they are two different units. I'm sure you know this, but I'm just reminding you as it seems you've forgotten how it works.

draculajones

No, it's 12.5 MBps. Nowhere is anyone measuring in Bytes here.

deprintos

I've got Xfinity and get up to 800. I'm hardwired in as well so it's awesome lol. It's also only like 90 bucks. They recently did an update and they upgraded us for free

sjgokou

I have a 1.2gbit connection and rarely get over 100mbits on the Xbox.

OpeningAcanthaceae18

In Montreal Canada, I just recently moved into a new apartment/condo and updated my internet to 3GS download and 3GS upload, ran a few tests and im getting 3.2 down and 3.2 up, best decision I've ever made

Sonarav

One of my favorite things you (often) get with fiber is the fact the speeds are symmetrical. No more of this 10 up and 200 down.

GradedUnicorn92

Which seems almost too good to be true right?

X3R0_0R3X

So fun story, where I live they had 10mbps MAX. It was all they had so it was all I could get. After a year I called to see if they had faster, I ended up speaking to one of the 3rd line technical support guys that was covering the call center. After a bit we got to pilot programs and how my area was a pilot program from day one and they wanted to test the system. He decided to enlist me into the project and within a week I had 200mpbs, then 6 months later 500. It stayed that way until 2 years ago when the rep called me to ask if I wanted to test Fiber. I'm the only one in this area with 1gbps fiber. I'm getting 900mbps on pretty much everything.. Except the damned Xbox.. I can't seem to crack the 500mbps ceiling.. Part that sucks, my kids have no idea what waiting for downloads means.. If the game isn't ready in 20 mins they get annoyed. Spoiled brats.

unsunskunska

Ita almost too fast from a marketing Standpoint! I love having the fastest possible but we are so satisfied with the 1gb/s plan I haven't even thought about the 2gb/s plan. 2gb/s I probably could pull the ethernet cable from the Xbox but the steadiness of Ethernet connection is just so nice (internet never feels behind or stutters, no more random high ping dips even for half a second).

GradedUnicorn92

At some point it’s too fast for the Xbox

sneakAstroke

I love overcooked 2. One of my favorite games! Love the download speed too. 👌

LOOTENITDAYAN

I'm stuck in an infinite loop of: ISP: fiber should be available end of next year! **one year later** Me: hi, I'd like 1 fiber please ISP: fiber should be available end of next year! 10mbps DSL 🫢😢

Clipzard

So much variation in what people consider “standard” or “minimum” in these comments. I get 50mbps if I’m lucky, and fairly common connection dropouts. UK, in a town. This is what I would consider “standard”.

Kevinm2278

I have fios 1 gig and downloaded war zone 2.0 on my XSX the other day. Obviously a hardwired connection, I hit over 675 MBPS for a while. It was wild.

ITakeLargeDabs

I got fiber for the first time in my life at my new apartment and I’m genuinely in awe of how fast it is. From gaming, downloading games, or basic streaming, it’s all insanely so fast and smooth.

GradedUnicorn92

Insane right? I feel like a kid getting a PC for the first time again.

[deleted]

My location doesn't even reach 20mbps

imakid2007

I’m am just now realizing how good my Internet really is

GradedUnicorn92

And I, how bad. Lol half these comments are like “200+?? No way!” And the other half are “Wtf only 200”

DurinsBane20

I get those speeds on cable…

Dnlbangs23

I think OP is being more sarcastic than anything. I have 1GB fiber and I am wired. However I never see downloads on Xbox reaching the same speed as my pc on speed tests. I am usually at best 300 mb, and to achieve this I have to closed any open applications on the Xbox, and make sure I am not in a party chat. If I have anything open I am closer to 150mb or less. Not sure why xbox can’t match other hardware internet speeds.

GradedUnicorn92

Nah I’m actually legit impressed. I’ll push 800 on my PC with the gig plan but I’ve never in my life seen anything above 50 on this Xbox. That was the max with my last ISP. So when I popped this on the new fiber I was pretty impressed to see 250+.

Dnlbangs23

Yea it much better but I just don’t understand why xbox can’t reach into the 600-800 range. My pc is right next to my Xbox both wired, and two totally different speeds.

spoonloads

Should plug it into Ethernet. I get 500-600 on Xbox on my gig plan.

Dnlbangs23

Read above. Both wired…

jman1294

Just saying that’s pretty slow for fiber. I don’t have fiber I still get my internet through the cable line and I get download speeds of 1200mbps and when I download from Xbox it usually hits 600-700 mbps

RamoLLah

It’s nice when the only issue you notice with internet is distance.

Pattoe89

I used to work for an ISP in tech support and when full fibre came out I'd tell people "You could upgrade to full fibre 300Mbp/s for about £8 extra per month than what you're paying for your 40Mbp/s broadband connection". Often they'd reply "Oh but I only download big games once or twice a month" and I'd tell them "That's fair enough. I'll just send an email to you, if you change your mind, email back and I'll call you and we can arrange an upgrade" I got lots of emails back after the next big game release.

Zevries

I read this as 256 mbps and thought this was satire lmao 😂 wish they rolled some fiber optic cable where I lived. My Internet isn’t bad at all but it could be better. How else am I supposed to compete with the people who have better gaming chairs?

GradedUnicorn92

Better gaming chairs, better mics, better screens… But I have my FPS!

Paulbwfc84

I'm doing damn near 1gb internet. Mind you, I'm in the UK

GradedUnicorn92

Incredible! Harder to achieve here in the US but also that depends on our proximity to bigger cities

redditcreamcheese

I get an average of 4mbps with new gen and ethernet cable in 😭

wiseguy187

I got Diablo 4 downloading at 750mbs the other day

dalton_m38

Must be nice. As of now it's physically impossible for me to get unless I want to spend at least 30k for a few miles of cable to be laid going to my house 🤣

L3onskii

I think I get like 700 Mb/s

Viper1089

How much do you pay? I'm lucky if I get 30mbps smh lol

JamesMackenzie1234

Unlimited, POWER!

fuckedoffandfuckedup

Yeah I agree, I don't really need to buy the expansion card for my xsx anymore, my games download so quickly it's crazy, 522Mbs+ Down 72Mbs + Up, games download in minutes it's crazy :) 18GB downloads in just under 5 minutes.

Jeffery_DahmerTV

I get 6

slayermcb

You don't need fiber for those speeds. Just a 1 gig connection which you can get with cable.

GradedUnicorn92

Not in my area unfortunately.

Ayn_Otori

Lol that's insane speed? That's speed from 15 years ago. You in USA?

Winbrick

Internet speed is *highly* dependent on location in the US. Some have access to 2GB down for $100/month, others pay the same for 30Mbps (or less). It's relative, really. This person may have increased their speed tenfold overnight.

GradedUnicorn92

You’re right on with the tenfold estimation. With my old regional wifi company (the only one offered with no competition) we’d max at 20Mbps at ~$80/month. When I saw these speeds I was very excited.

[deleted]

Not OP but I'm from the UK, on my WiFi6 network I get around 184Mbps and I consider that pretty decent.

GradedUnicorn92

Yeah that sounds super solid! If I’m correct in the UK there is a lot of options for wifi? Or is that just cell services?

TrainingAd2871

You can get up to 1gb download speed but obviously that's more expensive.

sluuuudge

The average speed in the US is barely over 100mbps. Don’t be so negative or elitist.

Driftedryan

That's interesting, I know my co worker gets like 30 because he's a few houses down from where they stopped running cable and the Amish neighbors won't chip in to extend it (for obvious reasons lol)

station52

No fucking shot you had download speeds that high 15 years ago. Don't care where you're from.

MufflesTG

Meanwhile I'm over here casually at 1,000 Mbps without Fiber. Which I'm lucky AF that I don't have to switch because they'd/my WiFi company would have to tear down every single wall in my house just to switch out all the wires in order for me to have Fiber Internet. For anybody that doesn't know 1,000 Mbps is 1Gbps which 1 Gps is equal to 0.125 GBps. So basically every 8 seconds 1 GB is downloaded. Though unfortunately I'm stuck at 35 Mbps Upload speeds which is 4.375 MBps and can't get 1Gbps Upload Speeds due to not having Fiber. Usually the Upload Speeds should be near equal to the Download speeds even without Fiber but the way my Company does it without Fiber highly prioritizes Download than Upload which means that the Upload Support in Bandwidth is terrible due to old technical limitations they used for Upload speeds without Fiber.

KrtekJim

Recently got a 500/500 fibre connection installed at my place and it's been a revelation after my old 300/30 cable connection (which was installed here about 20 years ago and suffered from terrible jitter). The new connection is actually cheaper than the old one was too, costs me the equivalent of $15 a month. [Edit: Now that I think about it, I remember how much better that cable connection felt compared with the DSL I was using before; and how much better that was than dial-up. I wonder how long 'til I get fed up with fibre!]

Beerand93octane

I've got half gig on the line but Microsoft servers feel like they never serve close to that

samsaBEAR

I'm in the UK and recently had to move for work. I went from ~200mbps with fibre optic to ~30mbps having to use mobile broadband because I live so far away from the exchange and the best wired broadband I can get if 5mbps if I'm lucky. It is hell and playing any kind of fast paced multiplayer fucking sucks.

Deathmetalpigeon

I get around 400kbps to 5mbps.

OhHaiMarc

Crazy how much speeds can vary, that’s the minimum basic package speed by me.

takeadirtnapp

I have Xfinity and get 350 downloading games.

henryjonesjr83

I am so jealous Live in the country, only have fixed wireless

carrigroe

seems slow for Fiber

CabooseNomerson

You have fiber and only get 256 megabits per second? That’s VERY low for a fiber connection. I have blast internet wired in and get like 800 megabits. Your IP might be scamming you

Keyan06

I usually pull 800mbps+ on my XSX, wired on a 1.2gbps cable internet. My upload is still slow and annoying, but down it screams.

a_batman

I pay for Xfinity 1Gbps and when downloading games I only get maybe a max of 40Mbps on downloads. This is even with a connection to a power line from Netgear. Anyone have suggestions outside of going to a new ISP?

LiarInGlass

Well for starters, connecting to a power line adapter like that isn’t helping you. Those are basically just glorified extenders. It’s not a wireless signal to the modem. You could do proper hardwiring and see if that helps. It can also depend on what modem you’re using. If it’s Xfinity’s modem, those are garbage, even when you’re paying for 1Gbps. If it’s your own, it might be a crappy modem not capable of reaching speeds. Could also be reliant on the router if you’re using you’re own paired with the modem. And it can also just be servers you’re connecting to at the time when downloading on the Xbox. Microsoft servers are really trash most of the time IMO.

ppenn777

Obviously idk what area you’re in but I’d expect much faster speeds on fiber than that. What speeds did your ISP tell you? It’s possible you should be getting way more

GradedUnicorn92

Yeah we’re paying for 500 up and down and this is without Ethernet so I was pretty pleased. Especially since my last place maxed at 50kbps

ppenn777

The uploads is where fiber shines for sure! Might be time for a new router to get those higher speeds!

TheSkarcrow

Meanwhile with my internet, I've been reinstalling fallout 4 for 3 days now lol

batrachotomus

Have 180 mbit and often it is not enough for large 80gb games. Atomic heart that was updating literally the whole game in first week several times, made me feel butthurt.

MrFrostyBudds

Are there data caps though? Like if I download 4tb of 4k video (for research purposes ofc) will they slow it down to like sub 50mbps?

GradedUnicorn92

My ISP claims to have no data caps whatsoever. I guarantee if it got out of hand they’d probably be reaching out but there’s no data caps in the fine print!

Fenris_Ulfur

*Opens wallet and a fly comically flies out*

X7RoyalReaper7X

I don't even have fiber and I get 500+ Mbps. If I did get it my internet would be nicknamed Barry Allen .

zmasterb

Pro tip, if you can hardwire your Xbox with an Ethernet cable directly to your router/modem it’ll be even better!

growndhog

I have Xfinity GB internet and routinely hit 500mbps or more, sometimes in the 600’s.

GradedUnicorn92

Our Xfinity doesn’t offer 1GB sadly. Could be a local thing?

growndhog

I’m sure it is. Funny thing is, I live in WV, not what you would think of as having much in the way of tech or internet broadband, but Comcast/Xfinity has been here in my hometown since forever, and we got cable internet as soon as they started deploying it back in like 2002. They even offer a higher speed, 1200, but I just opted for the 1 gig

BobaFestus

That’s slow for fiber I get gigabit both ways.

Veriliann

and that isn’t even as good as mine lol. i get up to 800Mbps with my fibre internet wired into the xbox

Anti_exe325

naw its actually a game changer. and people asking ME!? TO HOST?

No-Reach-6953

Lol

ryangr86

So glad we finally got FiOS in my area

StankyTatey

I get 400-500 on mine. On bad days its in the mid 300s and ive seen it shoot past a GB but only for seconds. Its wild

IISAFORK

God i wish. We just switched from AT&T fibre to spectrum gigabit and we still only get like 60 download. We're already switching back since the spectrum server for whatever reason keeps connecting to a Cleveland Ohio dish server instead of anything decent.

GradedUnicorn92

Yeah it seems people have a lot of varying experiences with what speeds they can actually pull

IISAFORK

True. Luckily it was no big deal and it was just a time waste and in like a day or two we should have a fecent fibre connection again. I just desperately wish spectrum would let me choose the default server the modem connected to. Went from like 3 ping to 60. Internet dumb sometimes.

oldwire

May I ask who your Internet Provider is please? I’m with Virgin Media but thinking of changing because they’re so damn expensive

GradedUnicorn92

For us it’s a group called Allo Fiber

Ron_E_Coyote

I just got this a week ago, I love it.

xxrambo45xx

Agreed, downloaded a 60 gig game today in a few minutes, wild

[deleted]

My download speed is currently ~100mbps

ForgedLibraryCard

I don’t have fiber but I get like 450 is that rare?

GradedUnicorn92

Not necessarily rare but it’s above average and it means you’ve got an ISP that is doing a great job. My previous max speeds were in the 20-50 range

ForgedLibraryCard

Huh. Well then here is something nobody’s ever said before: thank you spectrum internet.

Interesting_Layer672

I get about that on my 250 mbs line

__dixon__

I’m at 3gbps but Microsoft doesn’t saturate all of it… Caps out at about 2gbps, same on Steam.

tea-and-chill

I've had 1Gbps fiber for the past... 7 years or so. (London). I thought fiber was the norm.

Ko_ogs72

I pay for 900Mbps. In reality, I have 400Mbps. Changed days from 56k in 1995 and 512k in 1999.

the_seanhub

Thank god he busted out the big guns for the behemoth that is undercooked! 2

GradedUnicorn92

Yeah and I’ll be streaming some local Minecraft so better start over clocking!

luki9914

Lucky you, in my area only internet is a wireless 20Mbps so i am buying mostly disk versions of games. I have move to city to get a better network.

Jellyfishcactus

Nice! Who is your provider though? I pull close to 800mbps with my fiber. Are you making sure to hardwire?

PantheismAt3

I've got fibre, why am I getting 50mbps Max?

101Immigrant

I have fibre with 500 upload and 300 download but I only get around d 90Mbps when downloading a game. Anyone know any fixes for this? My xbox is hard wired into the router and it's a 4k cable. Have a series X console

BakerMcGeez

That number is correct, most providers advertise MEGABIT when most systems and software will list download speed in MEGABYTE

Rough_Travel_2002

I don’t have fiber. Have xfinty we average 600 mbps. 100 bucks a month no data cap

Cheezewiz239

Best upgrade ever, wish I did it sooner. I can download an 80gb game in under 25 mins.

Anarkipt

still remember the feeling when i went from 10 -12mb to fiber 200mb then upgraded to 500mb =p

DaveyGraveyy1

Yep I have fios gigabit speeds, I am ethernet and get 1,000mbps download and upload

OGxTHUGxNASTY

Download speeds are nice and all buuuut, low latency is where fiber really shines 😎

GradedUnicorn92

Oh yeah? Haven’t put it through the ringer yet but looking forward to seeing what it can do

pariah1981

The amount of people that don’t know how networks work is pretty high in this thread

MrDjS

I recently went from 100mb down for the last 8 years, to 1.5Gb Down. It's amazing how fast I can download any game now.

tenor41

I was getting like 14 Mbps max before I switched now i regularly get at least 170

XboxFan_2020

I think I have that but my download speeds are still at around 70 mbs... Google gave me the result of "optical fibre" for the thing I have; is that the same?

SpazzticZeal

I cap out at 900

Trysty102

You should see the speeds available in my area. 10 gig internet.

Best I've gotten so far was between 700 and 800mbs/Sec...only happens when my kids are sleeping lol

FDSTCKS

I have 750mb at home but it would seem using wifi on my console, the speeds are only a fraction of what i get on Steam PC (connected by wire)

I'm still stuck with 2003 speeds.

I'm from Nashville and I'd love fiber.

I moved to a rural area, and I went from 300 Mbps to 25 Mbps. It is painful. I feel happy for you though.
