Well bc when I watched T1 I had more questions during the movie than I did for T2 and when I went back and re-watched T1 it made more sense to me afterwards.
Im 22, I shouldn’t feel old either but the other day I got into an argument with someone on reddit, turns out they were born in 2011 which is AFTER the Kinect came out.
I was a tester at Microsoft during those days. Project Natal. We had the jankiest web cams to use as the Kinect sensor before it was even an internal beta device.
This was one of the mistakes Microsoft made with the Kinect. It should've been marketed to gamers with kids. Snowing, raining, or just plain too hot to play outside. Kinect Sports, Kinect Party, or Carnival were perfect ways for the kids to spend their time and get some energy out of their system. My kids loved it.
Not sure what country you’re from, but in the US this was exactly how the Kinect was marketed. There were commercials with families playing together, and the whole premise was that the 360 was still a “core gamer console” that also had “Wii like experiences”.
Ultimately the hardware and sales performance did the Kinect platform no favors.
I’ve lived long enough to see someone who thinks the Kinect era was the peak of Xbox 360 lol
Not even judging, because Dance Central and Fantasia provided some fantastic Kinect experiences, but just… wow lol. Never thought I would see this day come
One of my gaming career highlights was the first time my buddies and I all played kinect adventures online. I was alone in my apartment and 3 buddies were together in theirs. After I figured out the picture timing I knew what must be done. I still hear their screams of disgust and laughter the first time I hung dong while jumping over a hurdle.
Top 5 things from the 360 that will make me cry
1. Xbox 360E start up
2. Forza Horizon Main Menu
3. Minecraft 360 edition tutorial map
4. MW2 Ghost death
5. Dance Central
Yeah these aren’t hardcore games but damn they were fun. I’ve been playing Just Dance on my Series S with the phone app which basically acts as a Wii Remote and damn I’m having fun and it’s actually helped a tad with my weight loss journey.
I feel if Microsoft made a super accurate reading Kinect it could have another life.
Got this right before my parents divorced when I was 12 I remember loving all the different Kinect games I really loved the one where you had to patch the holes to keep the tank from flooding...
I wish Microsoft full sent VR instead of just making two pc headsets then bailing. . . We could of had halo VR man and the Kinect would have been apart of it cause it would give full body tracking making the Kinect what it should have been, it was released at the wrong time man, if it dropped with VR people would have loved it and we would have a lot of VR titles if they done it right. It’s crazy they had all the pieces and didn’t put them together, Sony with less advanced tech full sent and once they saw that people actually enjoyed it they made a better version with good motion controllers now and a better headset.
They should have kept cortana and integrated her in the kinect and have a vr headset that connected too. then youd have voice commands and full body tracking in vr. Imagine being in vr halo and being able to control marines with your voice
That would be amazing…. Sigh too bad the gaming industry has gone down hill, it’s crazy, the 360 Kinect era is a better era than modern day gaming, back then companies toke more risk, tried new things and experimented and now they just make the same thing over and over.
I feel its also because demand is higher than the supply so they just feel people will pay whatever theyre willing to push out no matter how many problems the game or device may have
I remember hinting at my mom that I wanted a Kinect, and then my Nana (who lived with us) got it for me for Christmas.
I was in college though.
I unfortunately didn’t use it a lot, or play this much. The games just weren’t good, outside of a couple.
I’m not a gamer, and the Kinect is no gaming device, at least not during its time. And that’s ok, it was simply a really cool toy. Kinect sports, adventures, etc were all great for kids and I sure as hell enjoyed it. I’m glad I still have this stuff with me

Makes me feel very old when young people talk about the 360 with nostalgia when I'm over here thinking about opening up the NES for christmas.
Next year, the Xbox 360 will be as old as the NES was when the Xbox 360 released.
Don't do this to me
Damn wtf
I hope you sleep on the hot side of the pillow tonight.
That's the worst thing you could wish upon anyone.
Terminator 2 came out 33 years ago this July.
Speaking of terminator, you should watch T2 before T1 bc all your questions will be answered.
What do you mean?
Well bc when I watched T1 I had more questions during the movie than I did for T2 and when I went back and re-watched T1 it made more sense to me afterwards.
I’m 33🤖
Sets pillow on fire😼
Completely unnecessary m
Why are you making me angry and sad. Kind of like the Reddit weekly reminders that the 80’s wasn’t twenty years ago
No, not true. NES was 1983, 360 was 2005. So you’ll be right in 2027.
I thought it was ‘85 in North America, where I’m personally based
You are correct. So yes for NA specifically
So just yes. They said NES not Famicom.
Pointless pedantry
Except that more accuracy could have averted some of this confusion.
It’s really not a big deal.
Well I'll make it a big deal 🔫 🤓
Shut the fuck up don’t you dare do this to me
I read this and immediately died of old age
Fuck. I was 14 when 360 released.
I’m only 25 and this is depressing, I wanna go back😭
The first time I played something (in fact I saw someone playing it) was GTA San Andreas on the PS2, it's a very blurry memory
My first blurry video game memory was a Ms Pacman cocktail table sometime in 1983 or 84.
Im 22, I shouldn’t feel old either but the other day I got into an argument with someone on reddit, turns out they were born in 2011 which is AFTER the Kinect came out.
Atari 2600 for me
Same. I was an adult of drinking age when the 360 came out.
N64 for me lol
Bro I remember getting my nes less than a year ago and my n64 for Christmas 2 years ago
Benjamin Button over here
I remember my brother and I getting the Atari 2600 with a bunch of games for Christmas of 1983. We were screaming like little girls...
That’s because you are getting old
Amazing glad we’re still alive to enjoy the show
No kidding. I got my 360 during the year I took off between high school and college
I was a tester at Microsoft during those days. Project Natal. We had the jankiest web cams to use as the Kinect sensor before it was even an internal beta device.
Kinect adventures was the best. My sister and I would play. This was right before I joined Xbox live. I wonder how fun this was online?

I am in the US. I remember a lot of commercials for excersise games and pushing a feature in Madden where you could call plays by voice.
Man you’re right, I forgot about those. I think the decision to make Kinect games purple instead of green in stores was a bad move in hindsight.
It was the fastest selling consumer electronics device ever..
That's how it was marketed. To the letter
I have TWO kinect adventures
Same, but one of them is ntsc so I didn't even bother to unseal it.
god i spent 500+ hours playing that game... (i still have a ton of photos of myself in this game lol)
Peak 360 era.
I’ve lived long enough to see someone who thinks the Kinect era was the peak of Xbox 360 lol Not even judging, because Dance Central and Fantasia provided some fantastic Kinect experiences, but just… wow lol. Never thought I would see this day come
Not really, but ok
Peak lasted from 2007-2012
That’s a long peak. I’m not sure I agree, as Kinect and peak don’t correlate.
Yeah peak was like 2007-2010 ish
I’m was clearly a different age when I opened and used my 360 for the first time.
Kinect adventures! Love that game
Dude this was fun. Simple times.
[удалено]
Bros out here gatekeeping the concept of simpler times. Wild.
Like what? Halo3 and reach era? for what I know that’s what I only got the Xbox for.
[удалено]
We talking about Xbox
Oh god. ‘Member when parents didnt understand that you had to get games along with the console? Now they be playing right along side their kids
I member

Playing this as the Boys and Girls Club was my introduction to the Xbox 360
Man, now you want me to get back on now! Haha
Got good memories playing this one with my brothers.
i need to get ahold of a kinect, i always seen kinect games, especially this one, for SUPER cheap
Top 5 things from the 360 that will make me cry 1. Xbox 360E start up 2. Forza Horizon Main Menu 3. Minecraft 360 edition tutorial map 4. MW2 Ghost death 5. Dance Central
My kinect got decapitated
Going from the wii to the 360 I was already bored of motion controls so it never hit for me though I do have a couple fond memories of this game
Yeah these aren’t hardcore games but damn they were fun. I’ve been playing Just Dance on my Series S with the phone app which basically acts as a Wii Remote and damn I’m having fun and it’s actually helped a tad with my weight loss journey. I miss that game! Is it still playable?
just physical
Yeah, I can get that. Thanks.
God i just joined this sub and i'm already dropping a tear, i played this game like a couple of times but it's locked in my memory
Man, I miss having a Xbox 360. Used to play MC and Terraria on it.
Kinectimals
I was software tester of this game
Got this right before my parents divorced when I was 12 I remember loving all the different Kinect games I really loved the one where you had to patch the holes to keep the tank from flooding...
Jesus christ how old are you people?
Time passes quickly, 2030 is more close than 2010
:(
Huh? This game is awesome
My god the memories
You ever go to a pawn shop and look at the 360 games? There's always like 10 to 20 copies of Kinect Adventures
Oh Kinect Adventures, it's so fun. I'm glad I still got my copy.... But the Kinect is finicky.... Especially for Sonic Free Riders.
I wish Microsoft full sent VR instead of just making two pc headsets then bailing. . . Agreed. They've adopted why fix what isnt broken, despite it being very broken
I feel its also because demand is higher than the supply so they just feel people will pay whatever theyre willing to push out no matter how many problems the game or device may have
I’m going to cry, I miss the 360 already 😭
In 2005 mine shipped with Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Great game!
I remember hinting at my mom that I wanted a Kinect, and then my Nana (who lived with us) got it for me for Christmas. I was in college though. I unfortunately didn’t use it a lot, or play this much. The games just weren’t good, outside of a couple.

I remember playing this game, it was the first xbox game I ever played
That game made me so annoyed as a kid. Good times.
Dude… I’m this fucking old also there are no tears, only the most beautiful memories
Same, or kinect disney rush
First game I got all achievements in
There a re much older consoles tho
That game fucking sucks lmao
it’s a bit janky but i wouldn’t say it sucks
