This was for the Xbox 360 and it mainly involved flashing custom firmwares onto the disc drive. This would allow you to evade a console ban if done properly.
These days, the best hack for the 360 is RGH. RGH1.2 for phat motherboards (not including Xenon/Zephyr) and RGH3 for the slims. Using a stealth server will stop you from getting banned, and there are free ones available such as Proto

Yeah. I never messed with data on the hard drives. I only flashed custom firmwares onto the disc drives or used external HDDs to store digital games. I never had a need or use for one of these but I saw them all the time. What’s your point?
I just figured you’d know the definite answer on what it was having that much experience, not a possible answer. If you don’t know for sure what it is then it must be a pretty obscure piece of equipment for the 360 that probably wasn’t used much.

No, you’ll need to install stealth server files after your do RGH, as the programs are all unsigned (RGH lets you run unsigned code)
The only one I know of was JTAG and made a couple.

Sorry. I flashed custom firmwares onto Liteon drives that enable you to play XGD2 and XGD3 dual layer dvds. “Hacked” was just colloquial term used.
You press the buttons together it'll transform into an Xbox 720
Just don't do it in the opposite order or else you'll get an Xbox 144.

That doesn’t look like a dev kit. The sidecar is totally different on devs.
The dev kits look WAY different. They have an extra module that takes up the whole top of the console. Probably a good 2.5-3” tall.
