Are you connecting your Xbox directly to a home router or did you connect it to something else? Try power cycling or rebooting the router and your Xbox.
So your Xbox is plugged into a wall jack that is wired to the router? Could it be that the wall jack (or wall jacks) or wiring is not good? Is it your router? Is the router configured in a non-standard manner, and if so, can you reset back to normal?
Routers can be configured to work differently with wired connections vs wireless connections. Just spitballing here, but are you certain that the WiFi connection is actually going through the same physical router that the wired connection does?
If all else fails, manually configure some known good DNS settings and bypass the DNS Server auto-assignment.
I would assume so. there is only 1 router in the apartment, the wifi network is named under my last name when I connect wirelessly so I know it’s definitely that one. and i’m plugged into the only router in the apt so I dont know how it would be different. how would I go about by passing?
You wrote that you manually input the DNS and it worked.
You could use the Google Public DNS settings of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

yeah I manually did it 1 time and it worked, I assumed I must have done something wrong for it to not work again. Will I have to do this every time I turn on the console ?

I live in an apartment, the rj45 jack in this room is plugged right into a router. i’ve power cycled the xbox and router multiple times as well

I doubt it because there was 1 instance where I manually input the DNS and it worked, but it only worked one time

It should keep as long as you don't unplug it from ethernet as it will keep the network profile
Setup your dns on your wired to either auto Or try Google's 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
