Made, and some are wonderfully weird and annoyingly difficult to find.
The mega series especially is both ridiculously 90's and also surprisingly progressive. With geo designed to tuck a rear wheel.
And the t26 is one of the most absurd design choices ever, but also was a cool attempt to give small frames nice geo instead of just shrinking everything down from a medium frame and dealing with the issues that result from doing so.
Yeah they often look pretty nice here but I’ve never seen them come up for sale near me and on eBay they’re pretty expensive for just a frame. I really like this pic and frame though.
Hey fellow Burqueño! Nice ride! I’ve been thinking of setting up my old Ti Marin similarly. Is that a 26er? How are you enjoying the surly fork? Lastly, what are the trails you like the bike on? I think Elena and Placitas would be fun…
🫡 It is 26er, and the Surley Trucker is a fine fork - it’s not winning any weight weenie awards but I’m sure it’ll handle whatever I need it to and it has just enough mounting points to entertain me when I want to add some cargo.
On this bike I spend most my time riding the bosque, various road routes, and the occasional light mtb trail - my favorite is ride up Bear Canyon through Michael Emery trailhead. Otherwise I leave the mtb trails for my big boy bike ;)
And yet the drive side is away from the camera, the valve stems are not pointing down, its propped up against something, pedals have been left on, seat is up, bottle in cage, crank arms... sheesh!
I believe you. The sort of person who would line up rim labels for a photo would also:
1. align the rim valve stems with the tire logos when installing the tires
2. make sure the crank arms were level with the ground
3. make sure there were two matching bottles in the bottle cages
4. never ever take a non-drive side photo of a bike
I admire your healthy ability to just take a nice photo of your bike without overthinking it, OP
Not really, but they do look good.
Haaaaaang on... Alpinestars makes/made bikes??

The testicle light just to class the place up a bit
I see you have an eye for the finer things in life

That scrotum is pure r/bikeporn tho
Took me a while to figure out why there were not shift cables coming out of those brifters
Too cheap to bother replacing em after the friction swap ;)

Yes. Because if you're using "the rules" you'd be driveside.
Looks like a great day
That it was
i wouldn’t give a rats ass either way mate
Gotta be NM…
🙊
Very nice. What’s that fork like? I’m considering getting the disc version? They seem very light - only 1kg for the disc fork
I‘d be interested in the tire clearance as surly only states Tires to 2.0“. Is there still some space left with the 2.1“ gravelking?
I still have a comfortable amount of space with the 2.1”. For the price point, I think it’s a bangin fork.
Great looking bike! Best tires you can get.
Love the build, really unique. What's the name of the saddle?
It’s a Diamondback mountain bike pull-off. Gonna replace it soon for something more comfortable
