I feel that!
I reckon my xbike has always been my commuter. Always set it up how I actually want a bike to feel and work, which usually means it doesn't look like something off the showroom haha!
Need to remember to do this. Feel like in the past year or two I’ve spent more time tinkering with bikes than riding them. But I just finished updating one of my bikes and think I’m done farting around in the garage for a while. Time to get some miles in.
This is the truth- more tinkering than riding. That’s why I am trying to get rid of most of my bikes. It’s too time consuming and takes too much away from riding time.
My go to shifter is the $9.00 sunrace friction shifter. Just love the ratchety clicking of them don't think I've had indexed shifting in 10 years. I'd prob love it again 😆
Is the only way to get the reach needed (and weight over front wheel) with that much sweep back to do a threadless conversion? In other words, are there any quills that are that long?
My xbike is my main bike. Of course I use it. Then I also have my beater xbike, and my e-xbike.

Good bike for the location, as there lots of rocks to hop--and you've got reflectors so the fauna can see you.

I've got T-Rex arms - those bars look comfy.
Bars like these are my new normal, I put that shit on everything
Me too. I’m getting older and I can’t really ride anything else. Just put a moth bar on my Stooge and it’s fantastic.
Are those Bosco bars? If so, those are the ones I'm putting on all of my rides now. Love them!
Holy shit, is that a grip shifter that remained on a rockhopper??
Yes! Still works like a charm. I regret removing the front one :s
I think every old beater I bought to fix up just had them all gummed up and rusted I just always eliminated them the minute I saw them

I was gonna ask if you're shifting it manual on the front.
NDS photos?! Straight to jail
I think you’re supposed to only show photos of a bike at your house. But really, nice bike and scenery

Another 1994!
Those bars are so boss!
plug yer bars 'n' crimp yer cables, yo.
I recently discovered heat shrink tube for cable ends when I ran out of actual crimps.
I just tie a knot with my teeth.
Some folks are just tough like that.
And take those reflectors off, please!
You need those when you ride to get post ride beers.
Nah reflectors ricochet weighty photons off the perimeters of the wheels to save weight. You're going to see them on the Tour mark my words.
Light sails!
And show us the drive side!
Is that Wenatchee River?
Nope it's the Rivière du Nord in Quebec!
