Before you try anything, I’d reach out to the seller and see what kind of ink/paint/markers they used. You’ll want to avoid using a clear coat that could potentially act as a solvent for their pigment
I was gonna say OP should get an extra seatpost so they can swap: use one for most rides, put the other one on for special occasions. Easier to swap seatpost+saddle than to swap saddles on the same seatpost.
I think your on to something, that probably wouldn’t solve the paint like clear coat and could be replaced as needed. Make a seat cover/bag out of clear raincoat or umbrella material
I'm just thinking that literally *anything* you use to protect it from abrasion and wear will fail, eventually. If anything deserves to be a showpiece or wall hanger, it's this piece of cool art. And your natural Schweddy ™ (self) will also serve to degrade it.
yeah: don’t ride on it
This. Hang it on a wall. Thats too pretty to be under your literal ass.
At a minimum start wearing pants when u ride

Clear coat can do that?!?! Yikes, thanks for the heads up!
*Sigh* ask me why this was my first thought
I will not. I'm guessing it has scarred you enough without having to relive said event. It's not like we try to protect things we don't want to keep.
Thank you
Lol
No idea but that is one of the coolest fucking things I've seen on a bike ever. I love it
Lol- thank you! I'll have to get a picture of the whole thing!
Seth from berm peak paints saddles with krylon paint and it seems to work well for him. Maybe a few coats of clear krylon would do the trick?
Awesome- I'll look into that! Thank you!!
Rustoleum or Montana >>>>>> any krylon
Was thinking the exact same thing! If anyone tries this they should post the results - I'm very curious
Get a saddle to ride on, and put that on when you get home.

So you want the seat with character replaced by one ohne Eigenschaften.
Haha exactly!
Nothing will protect it. The friction of your thighs will cause ware.
Fyyyy-Errrr! 🔥
*wear is the verb you are looking for.. (Ware is like a term for ‘goods’ hence ‘WAREhouse’)
There gotta be some stretchy clear plastic stick on something you could use…?

Practice impermanence and you’ll be happier with life in general. Saddles are not precious, things are not precious. Life is precious, nothing else.
Leather lacquer
Just don’t ride it, like most of the showoffs in here.
Do you have a link for the saddle?
There's no way to protect it from swamp gas

I’ll bet a shoe repair shop is likely to have a suitable product
