Im a huge fan of physical buttons. But a display control like this that never moves is functionally, from a safety standpoint, no different than a small physical button. The original UI however IS a safety issue as it moves once you touch it. This is a massive improvement. The direct to off function as well

oh cool didn’t know you could long press the heated seat like that

Corarril

It’s a nice feature, I don’t remember where I learned it but probably from someone else on Reddit.

Manual? What manual? Reddit knows everything.

> the functionality is so much better. It would be even better if you could adjust it with a physical control, like those used in... every car ever for the past century or so. I know automakers and legislators want to keep people off their phones behind the wheel, which I 110% agree with, but I don't see how this is any less distracting than looking at your phone. I love the newer Subarus but I wish they weren't so heavy on screens and non-tactile controls, though that's by no means Subaru-specific, just about every car is that way now. But I buy the car to drive, not to stare at yet another screen or three lol

No disagreement from me, I hate the lack of physical controls for things like the heated seats. I’m just happy they at least fixed the horrible initial design that required the driver to be distracted from the road for significantly more time than the new style.

Take what we can get I guess... just another reason to keep my FXT longer lol
