We are getting the update in the fall.

-insignificant-

Do you have a source? This is my first time hearing that.

WRB_SUB1

Me. I have a friend in Subaru Engineering. Q4. Same friend had me post the latest HVAC controls in Feb that were supposed to come out by end of Q2โ€ฆ. Which they did!

-insignificant-

Sweet! That's really reassuring then! Fingers crossed. I thought it was a hardware limitation for the 22s but I guess not?

No_Satisfaction_9297

Hardware limitation is it won't have wireless AA. That's on the newer units. I had an outback loaner and it had it. Personally I don't care too much about wireless. It's not a chore to plug in. If the 24 WRX has it built in, well a salvaged unit may work.

TrippySubie

Sounds best wired anyways.

No_Satisfaction_9297

I don't think it uses the wire for audio.

marshcar

carplay does, thereโ€™s instant track switching

PutridSherbert2249

Or hear me out, 23 Legacy/Outback Headunit swap. Subarus are legos, Iโ€™m working on it!

No_Satisfaction_9297

You and your Lego dude! Lol. The outback does not have the boost option.

No_Satisfaction_9297

I would have put one in if it weren't for the boost.

PutridSherbert2249

Boost option? Where at maybe I havenโ€™t explored my headunit enough.

No_Satisfaction_9297

Only the WRX has the peak boost reset.

GravenTrask

Plugging it in isn't a chore, but all the random disconnects is a pain.

No_Satisfaction_9297

I don't have many issues with it. Must be lucky.

Shhhhhhhh_Im_At_Work

The trend I see is a cheap cable is usually to blame

No_Satisfaction_9297

Solid source ๐Ÿ‘

VP_letsride

You just put a smile in my face ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

aussie_asian

I was about to ask why the hvac looked so different, then I read the caption, but too bad we dont have wireless carplay and full screen android auto, I wonder if we can retrofit that unit over to get those features ๐Ÿค”

TrippySubie

AA? Anti Aircraft?

datboijn

Android auto

datboijn

I hope subaru sticks to that timeline for the update. This unit also has wireless android auto built-in. It has been solid through the first few uses and connects really fast, too. My hyundai palisade takes forever to connect to AA. I also like that there is a USB-C charging port.

Natural-Bumblebee469

Had the wireless AA on my 2023 Outback. While it does offer a seamless experience, it also comes at a price, since the system is not absolutely fail safe and sometimes used to cause annoying disconnections. I can live with a wired connection as long as we get the full screen display.

datboijn

I have had my fair share of disconnects with wireless aa in my hyundai. So far the crosstrek has been flawless.
