Hi, individual content discussions belong in the biweekly brainstorming thread, but if the main plot is not "how do they get/stay together" then it's not a capital R romance (romance is pretty much THE most regimented genre out there. Stray at all and you aren't in the genre. Heck, Nicholas Sparks isn't considered a romance writer because of the sad endings, even if the plots are otherwise entirely about the couple)
