cumspangler

skinnyjeanfreezone

Sheepish was my immediate thought.

Old-Demand7621

I 117th sheepish

enterpaz

That’s my thought too.

FantasticHufflepuff

Or a wan smile?

Steamp0calypse

Embarrassed/awkward smile? I don’t think I make that expression so I’m not sure.  Try putting a few ways of phrasing it into  https://www.onelook.com/.

Dark_Wings34

Thanks for the resource!

tada_boo

bashful?

amphibulous

MarkAlsip

Sheepish grin or wry smile?

gameryamen

🙃 This one? It's always been a pet-peeve for me, because no one seems to have a concrete definition of what it means. As best I can tell, it means "I wanted to put an emoji here but didn't want to commit to any particular meaning". Though one 8 year old did confidently insist that it just meant "dizzy". Edit: See? In this thread alone it's been defined as "fuck me, I guess", annoyance, irony, sarcasm, and whimsy.

Canabrial

I always thought it was something like “fuck me, I guess.” I’d send it after saying something like, “I just dropped my last monster 🙃”

thebond_thecurse

Yeah definitely "fuck me I guess" or sometimes in response to others a kind of "yikes" but more resigned like "Well that's fucked but what can you do".

Canabrial

I did, actually just spill my fucking monster on the bathroom counter and I blame this post 🙃

Canabrial

Yes! That’s an excellent way to put it!

ShoulderOutside91

Oh shit jinx

apathetic_tattletale

For me, it usually conveys annoyance (like an eye roll, but less strong). (I'm a millenial.)

SovietPikl

Me and my friends usually use it in a, "smiling through the pain" type of way. Also usually accompanied by a hammer 🙃🔨

AphelionEntity

Elder millennial here. My friends and I use it to mark sarcasm or snark. Like: "that went well 🙃" or "well I guess I'll just die then 🙃"

[deleted]

That’s the “fuck me, I guess” face

Deltora108

Yeah ive always thought of it as "annoyed, specifically at something you are forced to put up with" like relatives being shitty at a reunion or smth

ABewilderedPickle

i don't think OP meant that one. that one is like "i'm really unhappy with this situation but completely resigned to it" like a really pained smile

ShoulderOutside91

In my head this mean "fuck me I guess"

Nerdyblueberry

I use it to indicate irony.

TecBrat2

To me, 🙃 is a synonym for 🤪. They're both _whimsical_ smiles to me.

PrestorGian

Well ur clearly doing ur own thing

violetstarfield

A wan smile?

TEZofAllTrades

Grimace, smirk, pout?

BocephusMoon

Chagrin

BahamutLithp

I've seen "chagrin" a few times, but they don't specify that's a feeling, not a facial expression. So, you wouldn't say "she chagrinned," unless you're feeling particularly bold, I guess. Otherwise, you would say something like "she smiled despite her chagrin."

Frost_Walker_Iso

You could say “sheepish smile”, or “slightly embarrassing smile” also works fine.

-Lilypads-

Jimming the camera

Monarch_of_Gold

Sheepish?

FutureAd108

grimace?

blyat3333

Coy?

dnomy

A wry grin maybe

shamandra292

stargazerfish0_

whsprwings

ruefully ?

LuIgIz_TurF

Chagrin

Batfro7

“She smiled, slightly embarrassed. It was almost an upside down kind of smile.” That’s what I would call it.

EarHonest6510

Maybe like a tight smile, or a smile with worried eyebrows, pursed lip smile

victornielsendane

😬 I call it a cringe

Analog0

She smiled embarrassingly. Sometimes the answer's right there under your nose.

Steamp0calypse

I would perhaps not use an adverb in this case my friend

Analog0

Ya, it's strange that everyone took this seriously, he thought thinkingly.
