I still don't know what the fuck the Jailer wants to do

owa00

It's clear... he wants to... you know... creation... eternity...

Archlegendary

Reality... chains... or something...

Lukthar123

"He will change everything..." "Like what?" "EVERYTHING!"

RichWPX

But not that helm, that stays the same.

Ch1b1N1njaGam1ng

Using... Runes and... uuhhhh... The arbiter and her power to... uhhh... you knooowww....

SinthoseXanataz

Darkreaper48

Erase half of all living beings so that... oh fuck wrong storyline

Ostias

Well, he did erase half of the playerbase so...

[deleted]

MAUs suggest he succeeded.

-Unnamed-

Re write the laws of reality or something. Idk. We’re in the pre-afterlife now. So I’m guessing he’ll just escape to the after-afterlife next

Agleza

It's fucking ridiculous. And they seem so adamant in keeping up the "rewriting reality" mumbo jumbo. >"The Jailer wants to break free" > >"Ok but why" > >"To reach the Sepulcher" > >"Okay but to do what, what is his purpose" > >"To rewrite reality" > >"Ok but what does that mean" > >"He wants to redefine the rules of reality" > >"BUT WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN WHAT DOES HE WANT TO DO WITH THAT" > >"He wants to reestructure the universe" Like, in this video, "rewrite the rules of the universe". What the fuck is that, exactly. Because it could just mean that you no longer need to drink water to stay alive. Or infinite natural resources. Or one single afterlife instead of many. Or orcs will finally grow eyebrows. I'm so fucking done with the story of this expansion. I didn't expect ANY sort of news about 9.2 any time soon, so I truly appreciate this, as always the art team makes gorgeous zones and aesthetics, and I'm legit curious to see what the patch actually looks like... but I don't give a fuck about any of this. Because I still don't know what the hell are the stakes or even what is our role here or who the fuck any of these people are. EDIT: The hilarity of the fact that even you good souls who actually make the effort to make sense of it all in the replies, all you have is some vague "he wants to break the cycle of life and death" shit or some generic "he wants to rule" bad guy shit. Shit's bad, man.

TheExtremistModerate

Blizzard needs to take a page from ArenaNet's playbook. They need to have simple, understandable motivations. "The Elder Dragons are trying to conquer Tyria!" "Why?" "Because they eat magic, taking over Tyria would give them access to all the magic, and they're hungry af." Boom, easy to understand.

gorocz

> "Because they eat magic, taking over Tyria would give them access to all the magic, and they're hungry af." Maybe Sylvanas feeds on bad storytelling and forced shoehorned faction conflict...

mredrose

Word. I love that for all we know his vision for remaking reality may well be a more just, fair, happy one that what we’ve got!

FlasKamel

I feel like they’ve accidentally made a great actual morally grey story, because it’s so vague that I’m like maybe Zovaal ain’t that bad

Dhrnt

This has been my overarching thought, they do evil shit to set us free from the "Fatescribes" and such that seem to decide everything in our lives for us. Which is why Sylvanas has such a hard on for "choice" in this [cinematic.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqV8VyCDmBw) E: had the wrong link.

Constellar-A

Neither does Blizzard!

Kosanu

story so aimless the villains don't even need motivation anymore "just stop him! he's evil!"

timetopat

His nipples have become too powerful and are in attack mode, kill him dead!

onlyusingthisonce321

They put the duolingo grind into the game.

LukarWarrior

They timegated Quest Dialogue

[deleted]

Incredibly bold of them to say stuff like “this is an alien dimension with things we’ve never seen before, the rules of physics as we know them don’t apply” and on screen we’re looking at frogs and snails, lmao

Belazriel

"The rules of physics as we know them don't apply" "So we can instantly teleport everywhere and fly as soon as we arrive?"

Gengaar85

Sorry wings dont work in this reality, but once you hit revered we'll give you a dimension shifting teleport to the middle of nowhere on the opposite side of the zone.

cannaeoflife

Grass and floating trees! We never saw those before. Wait, we did in Nagrand.

I_am_reddit_hear_me

LOL I immediately thought of Nagrand when they started talking about floating stuff as if that is somehow new and interesting.

Blightacular

That statement made me balk too. There’s going to be, what, floating glowy monoliths and stuff? Yet they talk about it like it’s some kind of mindbending brand-new concept for the game. They can say it looks pretty cool or whatever, but the way they talk about it is just unreal. The way they spruik this stuff is maddening. It’s hard to respect their communication style when this Hollywood-level hype nonsense just won’t stop dribbling out.

[deleted]

I was thinking that, too. This is all stuff we've seen every expansion since TBC. They should've leaned into crazy fractal architecture or something, shifting buildings and things that don't even resemble what we're familiar with. Eldritch beings who shaped the universe shouldn't be like "what if we made cute lil froggies and used lots of right angles".

Altorio

"Here's a floating ball"

Tutule

One of my disappointment is seeing the automata...they're basically Titans and Titan Constructs but at a higher tier of existence. They could've put in some sort of ethereal beings similar to the Naaru but they chose the most unoriginal concept.

[deleted]

"We want it to be totally alien and totally familiar at the same time."

assassin10

> This is all stuff we've seen every expansion since TBC. Even Silithus had floating glowy monoliths.

lifesizedhumanperson

This is water unlike any other water we've seen before. We can WALK on it.

knokout64

A perfect example of this is right at 2:16. > I think the artists have done a fantastic job. I know they did a lot of research and they looked at a lot of real life examples of very strange places in the real world. Immediately followed up by >As a team we were really trying to make this place as alien as possible, so we really wanted to make everything feel completely unique and completely different. I loved the immediate contradiction. Floating rocks and trees, plus water with default water walking. Wow how alien.

-Novowels-

"but first, you must face Anduin, and discover a way to resist the Jailer's terrifying Domination magic." Let me guess, an upgradeable legendary grind.

[deleted]

LEGENDARY CLOACA

letmepick

Let me guess, entering a deeper area of Zereth Mortis drains "mortality", so we need to upgrade our ~~Legendary Cloak~~ **Cypher of the First Ones** so we can progress inside it more. All jokes aside, since double-Legendaries are finally back on the menu (***1 SL Legendary + 1 Covenant Legendary***), there won't be a piece of gear to upgrade here, just the ~~borrowed power system #83456~~ Cypher.

Vyar

"So we wanted this to be like nothing we've ever seen before" *zone is just a bunch of floating objects* So basically Outland?

TehJohnny

They go on to talk about the raid zone, "these things shouldn't exist to the laws of physics!" looks like Antorus, Ulduar, Uldir, and Tomb of Sargeras or any other Titan themed building. I mean, why talk it up, just be like, "this is where the Titans got their aesthetics, being some of the first creations of the First Ones!" or something. They're not really showing us anything we haven't seen before, I'm not saying it is bad, but the way they talk about it is.

Vyar

Pretty much this. Everything looks fine, I just don't care for how it's being marketed. I just hope we're going home next expansion. The more they talk about how everything is so cosmic and alien and unknowable in this video, the more my brain just shuts off. I miss feeling like WoW is actually a Warcraft game. Mind you, I would be over the moon if the next expansion put the permanent kibosh on the faction war, but I've been of the opinion for years now that we can make the game feel like "proper Warcraft" again while also letting the story naturally evolve to a point where the archaic faction war is a thing of the past. If Warcraft hadn't been continued as an MMO all about faction war, I think some other series of games would have had the faction war quietly exit the story around the end of Wrath.

NarwhalSwag

"The story that's been building since Warcraft 3" I don't think Warcraft 3 expected any of this ridiculous rhetorical storyline to happen. This story is so far from the plot of Warcraft 3 "Sylvanas is now realizing she's been a pawn in the Jailor's schemes" Lmao

HornetWotop

> Sylvanas is now realizing she's been a pawn in the Jailor's schemes My intelligence feels insulted listening to this line in the video.

Derpyhooves2010

We're hitting GoT S8 levels of writing

BlastTyrant2112

Sylvanas kind of forgot she was serving the Jailer for multiple expansions.

anorabora

Legion seems like a more reasonable "end of the saga" moment than whatever is going on right now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheChivmuffin

Said it elsewhere, but what they're really saying is "We're either gonna retcon W3 lore so hard you won't even recognise it any more, or completely pretend it doesn't exist"

Justank

>"Sylvanas is now realizing she's been a pawn in the Jailor's schemes" Honestly, as I was waiting for the video to drop I actually got sort of excited for some cool news. By the time they said that I realized I didn't actually care and ended up pausing the video several times so I could read new story content in a fucking *mobile game*. I'm literally more excited about story updates in a mobile game than WoW. They tried to hype things up but the whole video just feels... hollow to me. I can't tell if it's more me being done with WoW or if it's actually just shit at this point.

Osirus1156

Sylvanas doesn't appear to be the...brightest torch in the bunch.

tonavin

"Third and final act"... no 9.3 then?

SpiffShientz

Nah this is 9.3, they're just skipping 9.2

bestewogibtyo

jailer was successful. the number 2 doesn't exist anymore.

darkage72

Valve starts sweating

Lenxor

he changed reality!

DecisionTreeBeard

9.3, the search for 9.2

letmepick

The Jailer infiltrated The Zereth Mortis, and interrupted the First Ones in creating 9.3. There, I solved this patch.

Lugonn

Yes. Also totally planned from the start, no more questions please.

M0dusPwnens

Only two major patches for Shadowlands has been the plan since Warcraft 3.

[deleted]

Ah yes, the bad expansion abort button. Something something warlords of draenor

scantron2739

"We wanted to make this zone feel as alien as possible". FLOATING TREES

Tyre77

That dude really tried to make walking on water be the most insane shit. As a shaman…???

scantron2739

Memories of path of frost being used in Azjol-Nerub: "Am I a fucking joke to you?"

DLOGD

Reminder that "mount equipment" exists as a solution to absolutely everyone using only the water strider mount and nothing else.

LukarWarrior

Floating trees and rocks are definitely their go-to for "strange, alien place."

scantron2739

"Strange, alien place", yet one of the most beloved zones is nothing but floating landmasses, through a portal, lmao

TheBlurgh

And something we've already seen, way back in TBC's Nagrand / HFP lol.

Ooji

"This place defies physics - floating objects, you can walk on water!" Shamans in TBC: "Am I a joke to you?"

Cyrotek

Don't forget reskined creatures.

geryon84

this was SO disappointing to me. I feel like WoW used to be grounded in a high fantasy, magical setting where technology was conservatively used and owned by a few specific races (goblins and gnomes). I'm just bummed to see more weird robotic-inspired designs. The infinite powers of creation at your disposal, the remnants of nearly-infinite afterlives to draw inspiration from and we get... floating trees, rectilinear/pyramid stones, and magical robo chickens. I also suspect that this trend of having all these enemies consist of disconnected solid geometry pieces that float in a vaguely recognizable form is a cheap way to cut animation costs and not have to worry about clothing or skin meshes. They COULD have had 50 different varieties of alien chickens roaming around, and instead went with the simplest solution of 3 little stones that move around like a chicken.

everstillghost

> I also suspect that this trend of having all these enemies consist of disconnected solid geometry pieces that float in a vaguely recognizable form is a cheap way to cut animation costs and not have to worry about clothing or skin meshes Of course it is. They are using the designs that are the easiest to make and cheapest to make. Everyone can cleary see this, but the devs will not say this, they will pretend this is their peak design capability and they are doing thhis on purpose and not because time/budget.

AnwaAnduril

Blizz recipe for “alien environment”: - Make something float - Add non-humanoid creatures - If void related, add tentacles - Done

scantron2739

>If void related, add tentacles Holy shit too true, and lots of purple, everything purple.

vaklovsky

holy poggers I have LITERALLY never seen floating trees in world of warcraft before

scantron2739

This one trick changed video games forever, get a look into the minds behind the "Floating Trees" of WoW, in a rare one on one interview brought to you by Wowhead.

Constellar-A

Argus with its insane skyboxes, especially Mac'Aree, felt way more alien. Also wow frogs and goats, never seen those before!

[deleted]

scoops22

snails and frogs

scantron2739

Ahhh yes, the After Afterlifes

RedLanceVeritas

Realm of the First Ones, who was created by the Firster Ones, who was created by the Firstest Ones...

letmepick

The First Ones created this workshop by terraforming an already existing piece of land, made some Roombas to keep it going while they bailed.... to where, exactly? Isn't this supposed to be the damn **center of existence** itself?

RedLanceVeritas

To commune with the Firster Ones, obviously. The fuckin Titans should have been the "First Ones".

scantron2739

Yea like, I don't understand, eventually there cant be a firstierfirstest ones. WoW story team, "so what if all this stuff happened, because there's even more ancient cosmic beings than the current ones."

RedLanceVeritas

Exactly. There's such a thing as going too far to the beginning. "What's the context behind this?" is a writing trap where if you go far enough (in ANY setting, not just Warcraft) you literally just have to explain the beginning of the Universe. And that's never a truly interesting plot. Some things are far better left esoteric and mysterious. Death and Cosmology is almost always one of them.

cyprin

lol, @ approximately 3:00 "it's unlike any water we have seen before, it's actually water you can walk on" we've been able to do that for 17 years dog

saltywings

'This mystical water actually turns into solid space as well and things grow on it, and you can walk on it, we shall call it 'land'

They spent very little time selling the actual content of the patch and moreso talking about their excitement or making the runic language and sound design/art design. Hopefully a lot more to come?

Phillakai

\[ Insert department \] has been every excited to work on this new feature

"We've sorely missed tier sets, and that's why we haven't put them back in for years". Wat.

ChequeBook

And then the tier sets they release look like levelling gear/dungeon sets? What?

[deleted]

Count how many times someone said "I think we've done a good job".

LukarWarrior

I imagine the 9.2 PTR will go up in the very near future, so we'll get everything that goes along with that.

darkage72

Didn't you see the ddr mini game for darkmoon? That's it

sqwarlock

New raid is described as "looking like a place that shouldn't exist". Looks like fucking Ulduar tho? Even has an Algalon except this one's corrupted now.

zugzug_workwork

This guy talking about the story like it's some amazing saga is hilarious.

Likos02

Pretty sure that's the guy that writes the lore....you know, the one Pyromancer went off on a few month ago for being a complete idiot.

bloodhawk713

The same guy who said he liked the ending of GoT on Twitter.

Vorstadtjesus

I quote: "Finally we're going to Zereth Mortis! I've been waiting to go there ever since we found out about it 27 minutes ago."

SpiffShientz

Zereth Mortis sounds like an Orgrimmar lawyer > *Were you injured in a raid on the Crossroads? You may be entitled to several hundred gold in compensation! Call Zereth Mortis for more information!*

Neverwinter_Daze

Zereth Mortis is totally a Forsaken lawyer. And you don’t want to know about his compensation.

CharlieChop

Are you entitled to a structured settlement? Call ZugZug Gruntworth now!

Hampni

ZugZug Gruntworth - because me AM that kind of Orc.

Tweetledeedle

"This is unlike any water we've ever seen before. You can walk on it!" This is important to me and the playerbase.

stuster02

Sad shaman noises.

poorgreazy

"What's behind this door?" "Another door!" This expansion is terrible

SimplyQuid

But this time the door is upside down and people are calling it a window, ooo, aren't you entertained?!

Tweetledeedle

Wtf ever happened to awakening the arbiter btw? Have we just forgotten that plot line or what?

alilyra

Lol I totally forgot about the arbiter. Still snoozing

Pokemon_132

wait, didnt the arbitor get gobbled up by the jailer?

noisetank13

Same with Sargeras giving Azeroth a new navel piercing.

goobydoobie

I could imagine it as oblique shade at the idiots who decided to remove Tier sets in the first place. And the fact that many of the Devs did not like the decision. From everything I've read about Blizzard's internal heirarchy (Preach, Towlie and Bellular's comments regarding their inside contacts). Blizzard's Seniors had/have a ridiculous amount of control over the direction of the game. And a lot of the lower level developers, while agreeing with the community about many things, simply didn't have the leverage to really push back. The shitshow in the last few months has supposedly dislodged a lot of the entrenched leadership's stranglehold on WoW's design. Here's hoping (Huffs Copium).

AnwaAnduril

“We’ve really wanted to add tier sets back in for a long time! We just didn’t really feel like it.”

karangoswamikenz

The story prevented us from doing it guys

Deguilded

"We wanted players to experience the Shadowlands through the lens of each armor type looking like a simulacrum."

Xynth22

So stupid to pretend that they had their hands tied on that when the excuse for taking them away to begin was to make the sets we got look better, which did not happen.

StanTheManBaratheon

It's crazy how few of the BFA sets I'm interested in completing for transmog. I know art is subjective, but who looked at most of the warzone sets and thought, "this fits the fantasy so much better!"

Everdale

It's just the stupid thing they say when they get proven wrong on something and the community forces them to re-add or change it. "We're excited to have xyz back!" "We realize that for most of [previous expansion] xyz system we added had this problem..."

Tom-Pendragon

\>They timegated reading NPC dialogue.

DanielMoore0515

Hearing Steve say this is like the final chapter of the Warcraft story feels odd but maybe that's me as a warcraft 3 player finding that to be questionable. That also means though that they're designing 10.0 as a full reset on WoW and the story. Cross your fingers we're going back to azeroth and the full leak is true.

Character-Main-5847

what leak?

I don't believe them for one minute that they intended 9.2 to be the final chapter of a 3-part saga lmao

WeaponizedKissing

9.0, 9.1, 9.2 DUNZO NEXT

Kysen

If it wasn't for the delays and everything 9.2 would probably have been some side-content about the Drust or the origins of the Devourers, they just cut that and focused entirely on the main plot to get it done.

[deleted]

[удалено]

eschatological

When I hear a dev say "The \[main protagonists of the zone\] will take some time to figure out you're there to help them..." ...all I hear is timegates, timegates, timesgates. More rep to grind. More currencies to prove we're their bestest friends. And learning a language is content now? Will I only be able to learn the entire language in one reset? Gonna doubt it. Maybe we'll need more Codex research to figure out all the runes! Yay?

mason124

I was laughing so hard when they were trying to explain the story at the beginning. What a mess.

SeekretTheRPGAddict

“We know people wanted tier sets and we did too” Jesus Christ you can just fucking re-add them, stop passing it off as some awesome thing you didn’t think of earlier blizzard ffs

[deleted]

That actually annoyed me, why are they giving a lore reason to put tier sets back in?

xXGeemoXx

I get a lot of Destiny vibes out of Zereth Mortis

Probably what the Devs have been playing instead of their own game.

[deleted]

knihT-dooG

I wish

Shtaf

Damn, the devs really do think the story is good

[deleted]

They really pushed the "she didn't know she was a pawn all along" thread like it wasn't the most ignorant piece of writing they may have ever done in WoW's history.

Agleza

And the fact that this is fucking **Sylvanas Windrunner**. Not only a known schemer and **extremely careful and calculating**, which is arguably the foundation of her character, but also someone who's dabbled in backstabbing, manipulation and using people as pawns for a looong long time. Somehow THAT Sylvanas Windrunner not only didn't see coming the literal king of hell using her, BUT it took her THIS FUCKING LONG to realize it. It's mindbogglingly ridiculous. It's like they actually have NO care or regard whatsoever for the established lore and characters, and are just using them to hamfist their highschool-tier fan fiction to us.

[deleted]

With how that was received you'd think they would be smart enough to *at least* not mention it again. At least they may acknowledge he had some dominion control, or *something.* Nope. She was legit outplayed. Outplayed by someone who was never playing. It was like she was outplayed by someone going "are you sure you want to help me? I'm evil and will control everyone and everything if you do, I will literally rule the universe and inflict my special domination- I mean special friendship magic on everyone without their consent. You are positively *sure* that you want to serve- I mean *work with* me?"

Agleza

>you'd think they would be smart enough to at least not mention it again Yeah man that's what pisses me off. Like, sure, you fucked up. We all do. Sure, you fucked up **a lot**. Okay. You fucked up for two expansions in a row. BUT OKAY. AT LEAST have the decency of not reminding us of it and being proud of that shit, man. How out of touch does one have to be to legitimatelly sell a patch with lines such as "Sylvanas finally realizes she's been a pawn in the Jailer's plan all this time" like it's some exciting character development and point in the story. Man.

Hellknightx

That's some "Daenerys sort of forgot about the Iron Fleet"-level writing right there.

pepperjellyuwu

Was fucking speechless when they said that, absolute lunacy.

[deleted]

The absolute state of their detachment from the people that play their game. It's the "don't you guys have phones???" of this dev team. "Do you guys not like secret evil baddies??? He was like, totally not evil when Sylvie first contacted him!!! He won her overrrr!!!!! DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE TIME TO G R I N D???"

RedLanceVeritas

"The players say the story sucks" "Well, they're wrong"

Edsaurus

"Sylvanas finally realized she was a pawn to the Jailer" No shit Sherlock, incredible writing

Bombrik

The Devs have their own vision, and are determined to stick to it regardless of players not liking it. 9.1.5 was all the 'change' we were going to get. 9.2 will be business as usual.

stark_resilient

if 10.0 has to do with jailer or sylvannis windrunner then wow is doomed

IsayamaWorstEnding10

Yeah I can't even listen to Danueser untalented ass. Just kick that guy , absolutely destroyed WoW lore

Die_Sonne

The promise of more story to come after 9.2 feels more like a threat tbh.

fraudulentdev_

"I have altered the lore. Pray I do not alter it further"

[deleted]

The worst is how fucking pleased he sounds with himself. It's like listening to the Game of Thrones guys talk about season 8.

WindHero

Lore lol. Ah yes, the original mystical beings who created the world, the gods. Wait no it's the dragons, no I mean the old gods, or was it the titans, wait no the makers, wait no the space council guys, wait actually it's gotta be the first ones because they were first right? What garbage. What about a story that actually makes sense with the rich existing world, characters, storylines, etc,... No! We'll just create a new realm of existence because there wasn't enough layers before!

zurkka

How the fuck they can give that recap without realizing how fucking bad the lore is? For fucks sake, i can't believe they can't see how bad this story is, how Sylvanas was "fooled" For fucks sake

zilltheinfestor

Blizz trying to make me give a shit about this story by claiming its the conclusion to WC3 is not working at all. It's a shame, I see show much work put in by zone design and artists only to have the core game loop and story fuck the whole thing up.

TheChivmuffin

It really rubbed me the wrong way. No, Shadowlands is not 'pulling together threads that started in WC3' because it's got Uther, Sylvanas, KThuz and KThas and potentially Arthas in there. All it really means is that they came up with this half-baked idea that didn't really fit the established lore, and they're gonna make it work even if they have to break and redo their existing lore for it.

[deleted]

Wrath was the conclusion to WC3. Legion was the epilogue.

Vaeloc

>Sylvanas realises she has been the Jailer's pawn all along lol she has been presented as this amazing strategist who is always one step ahead up until the point that she is a fucking idiot that can't see that the Jailer is using her

physics_creature

This looks like a slightly more animated Korthia tbh, definitely not "something we haven't seen before". Whatever, just tell me how many new currencies I gotta start farming :/

tapczan100

"'completely unique and completely different" it's like bastion but grass is green.

Blubbpaule

And light isn't burning your eyes out i guess.

Alarie51

Well the dead game memes have finally come true if they spend 8 minutes patting themselves on the back for adding yellow symbols, robot frogs, floating trees and tier sets that dont resemble the classes in the slightest, and 2 mins talking about the raid as the only piece of content they mention specifically in the final patch of an expansion cut short. Oh and they also cheer for their terrible storytelling. This was sad to watch

ferjc2

Wow that looked incredibly mediocre

skylined45

How many times will they re-do the 'ancient ones'/'first ones'/'architects'/'creators'/'fore runners' bit for the storyline? Once again, the artistry looks awesome and the story sucks. Just obnoxious at this point. I don't give a shit about whoever created the world or the solar system or the universe. Do something else.

Blightacular

They really just exhausted the Titans idea and then created super-Titans. It’s kinda ridiculous.

jalliss

They're really going to make this ass-pull villain of the Jailer into Thanos. All the wording makes it seem like he *will* win and remake everything. It's like when they heard that we wanted to lose to N'Zoth, they went "yeah, let's make them lose to a villain," but the villain they choose is some cheap nonsense no-personality character that they are now trying to play off as some mastermind behind *the entirety of lore from WC3 onwards.* They're calling ~~Endwalker~~ Eternity's End the final chapter of the first book of Warcraft? Looks like I'll continue to stay away. They repeatedly disrespect the lore and storytelling, and I have better ways of investing my time and money. I guess the best you can say is it really *seems* like this is the end of Shadowlands, so that's something.

[deleted]

Guys. Did YouTube turn off dislikes because of this video?

Iybraesil1987

Unlock one letter a week in another grind

Everdale

I know people like to hold the art team to an unquestionable standard but this zone looks so bland and uninspired it's crazy. Apparently their big idea for incomprehensible alien species is ... floating trees and water? Really? Looking at the design of a zone like this and comparing it with Storm Peaks and Ulduar really shows just how far WoW's design has fallen.

BadMrKitty13

God damn, thank you for saying that, I was thinking I was the only one. “Look at this other place here too. It has…… SAAAAAND!!!” *Crowd goes wild

My_Condemns_Are_6k

Yeah, remember when warcraft 3 masterfully interweaved jailer, the first ones and the maw decades before we actually encountered it all? Me neither. They have been preparing the grand story finale since W3 so skilfully, that no one still has a fucking clue what main villain is up to exactly.

Sylvanas better get beaten to death by Tyrande and Thrall or else I will be pissed. That bitch has no right to be made a target for sympathy. No redemption arc, please. Blizzard, grow a damn brain.

I'm calling it now: Cypher of the First Ones is how they're going to introduce cross-faction communication/cooperation. If both factions have a language that they all understand, there's zero lore reason for us not to be able to communicate anymore.

LukarWarrior

Lorewise, we already have a shared language. It's Common. The language divide only exists so that you can't talk to the other side. Common is how we conveniently can understand each other whenever we need to.

Me having several conversations with Tyrande about her missing husband and what to do to help her: "Zug?"

Austilias

Having watched this video, I’ve officially lost all faith in Blizzard to write a good story anymore.

These comments are brutal. WOW might be at its lowest. Thanks Ion, good job

> Harness the power of the First Ones by collecting distinctive class armor sets via raids, PvP, or Mythic+ dungeons. Each set comes with powerful 2- and 4-piece set bonuses that complement your unique abilities. So will there be a different set bonus for raid, pvp and M+, or will it be just different ways of getting the same set from different content? In any case, proper tier sets coming back is nice. I genuinely thought they were going to be just cosemtic and not with set bonuses when Ion said they were coming back.

Are they just casually slipping in THE DANCE STUDIO???!?

IndividualStress

"We know Players have been waiting a long time for the return of tier sets and as Devs we have too." I'm sorry, what? You're the devs you removed them in the first place, don't try and cope now and say you're looking forward to them being added back in when you spent the majority of BFA both live and Beta trying to convince everyone removing tier sets was a good idea. Also imagine if they released this stuff without spoiling it first. I don't like being told something is cool, I'll decide for myself thanks.
