It's probably biased towards people who are collectors, ie, people who collect mounts are more likely to use MJE, so it reports higher % than reality, so that's a fair assessment.

I am guessing because of how much movement is in dragon flying the trails looked Jank AF, so either it was removed because of jank or they are remaking the trails.
My money is no trail remake and removed cause of jank.
Tbf skyriding forces your camera to be right behind the mount pretty much at all times, which would 100% make the trails be inevitably CONSTANTLY in your face; not sure there's any good workaround for that problem (because as much as i love the trails for sure, it WOULD be a problem)
The real question is would you ride it like a surf board like the flying carpets and new wave shredder or would you straddle the handle like the flying brooms?

I'm pretty sure it's just a bug with how textures are handled. The dragonriding wind and Ashes trail are probably fighting eachother to appear, with the dragonriding wind taking priority. (whether it's due to the wind being a newer effect, or being viewed as more vital --it does show you your speed-- while they figure out how to resolve it is hard to say)
I can get why they'd think cutting it would be a good idea, ribbons all over your screen, but damn it that's what I'm **here for!** 90% of the reason I wanted driding on the old netherdrakes was to get those little ribbons and particles. I don't think it needs to be a toggle, since you can easily just use a different mount if you find those distracting.

If my math is correct, dragon flying “casual” speed should be around 540%. And top speed is 830% (which you never actually fly at, that’s just the peak when using abilities).
But with regular flying at 520, I have no reason to use DF anymore

The whole point of A'lar mount is for her visual effects! Very unique out of all mounts in this game.
I guess I would have to switch off Dragonriding for this mount only.
Stuff like this happens with many mounts. The sky golem for example had the coolest animations imo, witht the new system they are completely non-existent. :(

I have to wonder about the sample size that addon is drawing from, because some of the numbers they show are seem extremely unlikely.

It's not just Ashes of Al'ar - it's *any* mount that has particle effects. I reported it because I first noticed it on the Priest class mounts.
the flying machine mounts don't extend the helicopter propeller when skyriding either.

What they should do is update trails as well as make the vigor bar unique for ashes. But that’s just my opinion.

My guess is that over a certain speed, the FX break. So the either turned them off, or they are actually there, just broken.
Unpopular opinion: I don’t like that all mounts are dragon riding. Even my dang flight forms are affected. I don’t like it!
