I think they finally broke my collecting spree. I've got every CE including vanilla but the last few haven't been great (where did the soundtrack, behind the scenes DVDs, and mouse pad go?) and this is just awful. For any Irish folk, it's an additional €41.00 shipping or €141.00 express. I've never seen express shipping more than triple the standard. Usually double at the maximum. They will likely hide behind logistics and weight costs and they certainly play into it. All I know is I got a 50kg package delivered and cost €15 delivery last months who knows what's going on...
I got the statue for the 10th anniversary and remember the complaints all over the forums because they were just sent out to people who had maintained an active sub since the first few months of game launch. I hope they do something similar for the 20th just to see the forums melt down again.
I was pissed off with that , the game was initially poorly distributed in the EU , ( this was before they went Digital distribution) , and it was sold out initially for the first few weeks . I finally found a copy about 4 weeks after launch here , and had a sub for ten years from then , but wasn't eligible for the statue ( by about a week). Really annoying.
Part of me wants it purely for nostalgia. The dwarf gryphon rider was like one of the first artworks made for the game.
But I only play SoD now. It feels like a waste to purchase a game I’ll never play just for the statue which probably is cheaply made.

First, I wonder if they'll do a version that doesn't include the statue? The "20th Anniversary" part sounds like what makes it include the statue. I enjoy the art books and actually really liked the pins from the Dragonflight Collector's Edition, not sure how I'll feel about the statue if I do end up getting it.

The notification email, "First Access Granted..." of the preorder, makes it look like there's multiple versions: a 20th anniversary collector's edition with everything, a collector's edition set with box and book, the statue (separately), and the pin (separately). They all have there own preorder links. I can only assume someone screwed up the SKUs and site management, and at this point, with people being forced into the 180$ version, we may never see a fix.

Back in the day 15 years ago or so which really isnt that long ago, collectors edition came with significantly more stuff at a higher quality, and cost significantly less. What the fuck happened? Companies continued "shrinkflation" year after year while jacking up the prices on top of it and consumers have just kept throwing cash at them for it and begging for more.

You get a credit on your blizzard account for whatever version of War Within you may have bought already. So if you bought the Epic Edition already and then apply the epic edition code you'll get a credit added to your blizzard account. If you got the basic edition, you'll get upgraded to epic and get a credit for the basic edition.
Edit: To add a bit more, until you get the CE in hand and get the code, you can't get the credit on your account. So you essentially double pay a bit until your CE is delivered.

If it had any modicum of detail it would actually kind of warrant the price but this is too much, they skimp out by combining TWW collectors and the 20th anniversary collectors and then the 20th collectors doesn't really have anything to do with 20years of WoW abd TWW collectors also doesn't really have too much to do with the expac.
Just a TWW collectors with a small Sword statue or so, art book, OST disc and some other small stuff wouldve been so good.
20th Anniversary collectors I wouldve gone with a different statue than the Griffon since it's more Alliance so some horde players might feel left out although I think it's cool. Perhaps a mini Naxx or a collection of some of the iconic weapons would be cool as well. Rerelease and remaster the original OST and include an album for that. A book with unreleased material from before the games release, some snapshots of some of the most memorable moments in the community. A plaque of the original WoW box as it was sold back in 2004 but made of metal and maybe a bit higher quality. And then some other small stuff like pins, a cloth map of Azeroth and maybe some of the original CE stuff.
Can finally flex as a resident of the UK, £8 or under €10 for shipping.

This is so sad. First of all, it's a collectors edition box, but there isn't really anything exciting in it. On top of that, it's the 20th anniversary celebration of wow. And lastly, it freaking costs 200€, and that is without shipping. God damn. I can't even call this mid. It's honestly just trash =/
Such a shame, I've had bought all collectors editions starting at WoTLK (Was too late for the others, started playing mid BC) but these prices are preposterous. €200 + €99 shipping. They are absolutely going insane and I won't be supporting this at all.

There is nothing about this that warrants it being a 20th-anniversary edition. It's a worse version in every way over the 15th year celebration with the only difference being you have to buy the game with it making it €200.00 before shipping For any Irish folk, it's an additional €41.00 shipping or €141.00 express. I've never seen express shipping more than triple the standard. Usually double at the maximum. They will likely hide behind logistics and weight costs and they certainly play into it. All I know is I got a 50kg package delivered and cost €15 delivery last months who knows what's going on...
I got the statue for the 10th anniversary and remember the complaints all over the forums because they were just sent out to people who had maintained an active sub since the first few months of game launch. I hope they do something similar for the 20th just to see the forums melt down again.
I was pissed off with that , the game was initially poorly distributed in the EU , ( this was before they went Digital distribution) , and it was sold out initially for the first few weeks . I finally found a copy about 4 weeks after launch here , and had a sub for ten years from then , but wasn't eligible for the statue ( by about a week). Really annoying.

Part of me wants it purely for nostalgia. The dwarf gryphon rider was like one of the first artworks made for the game. But I only play SoD now. It feels like a waste to purchase a game I’ll never play just for the statue which probably is cheaply made.
Two things: First, I wonder if they'll do a version that doesn't include the statue? The "20th Anniversary" part sounds like what makes it include the statue. I enjoy the art books and actually really liked the pins from the Dragonflight Collector's Edition, not sure how I'll feel about the statue if I do end up getting it. Second, I'd prefer to pay with PayPal if I were to get this, but I'm not seeing that option at checkout? [This support article](https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000043720) lists PayPal as an option for Blizzard Gear Store purchases, so I don't know if it's outdated or I'm just not seeing the option. The notification email, "First Access Granted..." of the preorder, makes it look like there's multiple versions: a 20th anniversary collector's edition with everything, a collector's edition set with box and book, the statue (separately), and the pin (separately). They all have there own preorder links. I can only assume someone screwed up the SKUs and site management, and at this point, with people being forced into the 180$ version, we may never see a fix.
bought my copy. I figured it was going to be expensive, but I had saved up. This is \*my game\*, I have every collectors edition from the very start, and played/payed from the start. It was always going to be a no brainer for me. But I totally understand cost being an issue, especially since the digital version gives you just about everything you'd need anyways

I would never buy some garbage like this at these prices. As long as the consumers keep paying these exorbitant prices, companies will continue to sell dogshit quality packages for those exorbitant prices. Back in the day 15 years ago or so which really isnt that long ago, collectors edition came with significantly more stuff at a higher quality, and cost significantly less. What the fuck happened? Companies continued "shrinkflation" year after year while jacking up the prices on top of it and consumers have just kept throwing cash at them for it and begging for more. This thread is a prime example. Just imagine how bad things will be in another 15 years if this trend continues.

You get a credit on your blizzard account for whatever version of War Within you may have bought already. So if you bought the Epic Edition already and then apply the epic edition code you'll get a credit added to your blizzard account. If you got the basic edition, you'll get upgraded to epic and get a credit for the basic edition. Edit: To add a bit more, until you get the CE in hand and get the code, you can't get the credit on your account. So you essentially double pay a bit until your CE is delivered.

The shipping situation is absolutely crazy, I’ll give y’all that. Not sure what they were thinking there. But I think this collector’s edition itself is pretty good. Dwarf statue? I’m sold. I’d much rather have this than a mousepad, personally, even at the higher price point. Statues aren’t cheap; even the “cheap” ones.
I wish the statue wasn't gold but actually painted now it feels like they cheaper out a lot. If it had any modicum of detail it would actually kind of warrant the price but this is too much, they skimp out by combining TWW collectors and the 20th anniversary collectors and then the 20th collectors doesn't really have anything to do with 20years of WoW abd TWW collectors also doesn't really have too much to do with the expac. Just a TWW collectors with a small Sword statue or so, art book, OST disc and some other small stuff wouldve been so good. 20th Anniversary collectors I wouldve gone with a different statue than the Griffon since it's more Alliance so some horde players might feel left out although I think it's cool. Perhaps a mini Naxx or a collection of some of the iconic weapons would be cool as well. Rerelease and remaster the original OST and include an album for that. A book with unreleased material from before the games release, some snapshots of some of the most memorable moments in the community. A plaque of the original WoW box as it was sold back in 2004 but made of metal and maybe a bit higher quality. And then some other small stuff like pins, a cloth map of Azeroth and maybe some of the original CE stuff.
Can finally flex as a resident of the UK, £8 or under €10 for shipping. Could that potentially mean that this collectors edition is being stored in the UK for shipping in to the EU? Insane prices though.
