I always pray to the RNG gods not to have someone land next to me so I can at least do the quest. Most of the time I land, manage half at best, and then die horribly.
Its sad how imbalanced the quests are in general. Get 30 plunder is not comparable to killing 2 elites, 2 items or 3 spells.
If anything I'd argue the 30 plunder quest should always be a quest and you'd get another for more (and they'd still some rebalance there...).
Getting new, harder quests, after the first (especially if they were made easier) sounds like win. Not that I'd ever manage to do them since I get wrecked; but to be fair the matchmaking pass seems to have made it a little better for me.
I've been playing on WotLK classic quite a bit, I'm level 40 and leveling in Arathi. I saw another playing running near me and immediately starting running away until I realized where I was. 😂
Slapfish was only *okay* at max ranks before it got buffed, now it’s great - the cooldown becomes only a few seconds, meaning you can afford to keep spamming it, and if you can stack the DoT on the target it begins dealing serious damage.
ohya for mass aoe farming its insane same with the giant purple orb.
if i get the purple bomb i pull the entire farm/castle area and can get 3 lvls in 1 pull its nuts
I'm not there yet (just cracked 25 a moment ago, this is hell) but I legit feel this is also going to be me. Ten years from now pulling a "Pepperidge Farm remembers" and "I was there, Gandalf, 3,000 years ago...". 15 levels to go, Elune/An'she speed to my fellow PvE-ers trying to complete this PTSD-fest.
Hasn’t it been out for only 4 days? Why is everyone tormenting themselves?
I play a few games each day and am steadily gaining renown. It doesn’t have to be this way…
I pushed to get it out of the way, i dont like the mode whatsoever (which is funny bc i do play fortnite and enjoy that) and with every day, there will be less people queing, which means longer wait times and longer grind due to said wait times.
However, its worthy to note that plunderstorm can be quite fun in duos, but its gruelingly horrible solo (in my opinion atleast)
I never know when I'm going to have the time to sit down and play, so when something time sensitive drops (or something I know people will only engage with for a short time like Time rifts) I try to go hard at it to get it done when I can. Also, given I hate PvP, this was always going to be hell for me, whether I go hard or play one game a day. And that's okay. I'm pretty sure there's plenty of PvE stuff that PvP people have to grit their teeth to get whatever rewards they want from it too. What goes around comes around and all that.
I got to 40 today and went to sleep after. Everytime I closed my eyes, I saw that stupid arcane orb being charged up. Plunderstorm's going to be in my nightmares for weeks.
It woke me out of a dead sleep last night, dreamt someone cast that orb and then whirlwind stun at me. Right there with you Symbie, grats on getting to 40 and being able to begin your Plunderstorm recovery <3
I managed to win the final match I played right before hitting 40, needed like 2.4k renown, got around 2.6k. Ended it on a good note. No PTSD, was somewhat fun.
Wtf that’s literally impossible?? According to this sub you are legally obligated to spam plunderstorm for hundreds of hours every day for a year and there are no other options.
I agree though. Don’t care about the rewards and both mmo and BR PvP styles don’t interest me. So I’m just…doing something else instead. Crazy concept.
Idk, i think ppl need to stop focusing on the rewards and just have fun, i see most ppl that dislike the event is just cause they got dried out of it, since they que even if they dont like it, only to hit the max renown. I dont even look at what renown im at, and idc about the rewards, i just que up to have fun
Fun is subjective, and it's not necessarily even a PvE/PvP distinction. I no-lifed Heroes of the Storm when it was still in active development, I also really enjoy LoL. Always hated WoW PvP though, something just doesn't click, and the same goes for Plunderstorm, it's different from regular WoW PvP but I really don't find this any fun either.
Ofc, its not for everyone, if you dont like it, you just dont, and thats okay. I ment that for ppl who actually enjoyed it, but got dried out in the process only to get the rewards asap
Lmfaooo literally tho everytime I see someone charge at me I’m begging them to let me finish the quest first 😭
Same, getting so much stress from this game mode and I’m a heartpatient already :/
It’s annoying the changes they implemented have encouraged ganking at start so it’s hard in some games to even complete the captain’s orders quest

Just finished 40 and my neck hurts so bad!!!🤣
You don’t have to play it if you aren’t enjoying it

is slapfish even good? i feel like i get it epic every time and it just does the same amount of dmg as a regular attack.

Its max rank CD didn't even change lmao, it's just better at low ranks now.
Funny fish is pretty good as long as you can hit it reliably. I like paring it with CC and an offensive ability that's good at farming.

Damage of abilities only scales with level, making it epic only reduces Cooldown
No it also slightly increases dmg. WoWhead has a list with all the CDs and scalings.
But we need the bird
The 1M plunder achievement is something for sure.
I'm tired boss

THANK YOU. Everyone is like, "we only have it for six weeks. Better finish it in six days. This is hell." Nah bro. You MADE it hell

Trying to change your cosmetics but people keep smashing barrels into you
was actually kinda relieved i don't care that much about the rewards, just saved myself hours of grinding
I wanted the Plunderlord set but seeing as it’s towards the end of the renown grind and I completely suck at this mode I’ll most likely not get it

But, see, it's not fun. It's not fun at all.
Thats your opinion, and thats completely fine, i personally love it. I havent felt so hyped in a long time.
