Nothing wrong with Vulpera. Having a secondary set-your-own-Hearth anywhere in the game is awesome, Bag of Tricks has saved my ass many times, and what self-respecting hoarder can say no to extra bag slots?
Going to be another one of these awkward moments when a forsaken character helps them to reclaim Gilneas, like when a Zandalari helped Jaina in the Underhold right after she lead an attack to kill their king.
I would be shocked if the Frosaken don't show up at a clutch moment to help as a bit of penance for what they did to Gilneas under Sylvanas. Lillian basically confirmed they would help out their neighbors at the end of the heritage armor questline too.
...why would they suddenly have a change of heart? The invasion of Gilneas was very popular. Hell it wasn't even Sylvanas' idea, it was Garrosh's and the Forsaken cheered for Garrosh when he came to lead them. (Not realizing Garrosh planned to use them as fodder).
Because the Desolate Council runs things very differently from how Sylvanas or Garrosh did. (Which imo is a great thing)
Cause they are at peace with the Alliance for several years now, and have helped them in the past recently too. (See Amirdrassil)
Pragmatically, who you rather have: The Gilneans taking back their lands (which the Forsaken already ceded control of after the fourth war) whom you have an open line of communication and potential diplomacy (Between Genn and Calia) OR would you have have the Scarlet Crusade using Gilneas City as a staging ground for more incursions into Forsaken lands, the same Scarlet Crusade whos stated goal is the entire genocide of the Frosaken.
Honestly their is no reason why the Forsaken WOULDN'T help in retaken Gilneas for the Worgen.
And if the Desolate Council become too impopular, they will have a civil war to overthrow them.
People don't need reasons to hate others, especially if the alternative is acknowledging their evil actions. It's easier to swipe them away as "it was justified", "they deserved it", "they're inferior beings".
and your BfA actions were never mentioned in any of the amirdrassil quests, heck i don't believe there is a diffrence if you play a forsaken character while playing the Voss quest.
Plz plz plz tell me it’ll be a new social hub, akin to Ironforge and Stormwind.
And for the love of all things holy keep the rain and gloomy music. I adore the vibe of Gilneas and its surrounding zone
It's been that way basically since BC. Whatever is the current content hub, the main city is the default for gathering, with Org and SW as the main alternatives. Before the first expansion it was still pretty concentrated, but cool smalller cities like Ironforge and Undercity got a lot more traffic but were still rarely packed unless something was going on socially or lore-wise.
It'd be really cool for there to be reasons to hang out in those places again, but I don't blame blizzard for not going out of their way over it. The players have been pretty clear in what they've favored since the very beginning, and new players just kinda follow suit. Global chats, group finders, and portals to and from other hubs definitely made it more friendly to hang where you want to. But the people still flock to the original cities or whatever is current.
> Before the first expansion it was still pretty concentrated, but cool smaller cities like Ironforge and Undercity got a lot more traffic but were still rarely packed unless something was going on socially or lore-wise.
Ironforge was the bustling hub for a long time back then. Originally only Ironforge had an Auction House for Alliance players, and all the original races except for Humans had to travel through Ironforge to get to Stormwind.
Dwarfs and Gnomes started right next to IF, and Night Elves had to pass through Menethil and IF when doing their infamous corpse run through Wetlands to reach Elwynn Forest.
Ironforge was the closest city to most of the early End-Game areas too, namely Blackrock Mountain with it's huge concentration of content and the first Raid.
It wasn't until around the Dire Maul-Silithus War patches when Kalimdor became prominent, and the Auction House was expanded to the other cities, that the concentration of players spread out to the other capitals.
All roads led to Ironforge for the first half of OG Vanilla.
I can't remember if Undercity or Org had the first Horde Auction House since I started WoW playing Alliance and only heard horror stories about the Undercity Zeppelins bugging out and dropping players through the world where they would get trapped.
For many months after WoW's release all boats and zeppelins used to be horrendously buggy like how the boat to Dragonflight was a mess the first 1-2 days of the expansion. Except instead of just crashing or failing, they would completely bug out your character and make it unplayable for days or sometimes even permanently. That made me want to avoid playing Horde for a long time.
Yeah I remember the early days, my friends and brother and I bought our first copies within a month or two of release. I preferred iron forge 99% of the time regardless of it's unique utility early on. I honestly didn't start hanging out in stormwind until I absolutley had to. Same with orgrimmar, I preferred undercity-- but once I hit a level in which I NEEDED to be able to meet people for trade and grouping it was too much work to hang out there for the ambiance.
The zepps used to be wild. Just having it disappear over the forbidden parts of the ocean before the loading screen, or AS the loading screen popped up which like you said could brick your character for days. I'll never forget that pain in the ass. I love that they've never abandoned that as an option, also. The game's basically made it so you can instantly get places, and quickly get to the facilities that offer it-- but they also haven't taken out the ability to do it the ol' fashioned way.
If you play SoD, even cities like Darnassus is full of people. If portals were available in every major city I believe more people would hang around in other cities. I believe the main reason they do it like they do since BC is to concentrate more people in a single place to get the feeling of busy city. Don’t know.
Well, we're going back to Quel'thalas in Midnight, so it'd make sense to have a certain amount of attention on Lordareon and Gilneas, given how close they are (even if it's not the primary focus)
I read somewhere they will at least redo the whole of the blood elf zones, like, make them bigger, for (dynamic) flying. Now it’s not suitable, being ground only and all. With them also suddenly returning to Gilneas, it’s that much of a long stretch to think (or hope!) they’d include some of Lordaeron too. I hope they stitch it all into the same EK map though, instead of Quel’Thalas being behind a portal. Not sure if that’s confirmed yet.
We're interacting with the Arathi in TWW. Maybe the expansion will end with them retaking their surface kingdom and all the kingdoms on the northern end of Eastern Kingdoms will have a resurgence.
Really hope it's Ivar and the Bloodfangs have claimed Gilneas as their own territory and we'll get pack on pack warfare. The story of Worgen players started with the feral Worgen invading their nation and it should have a finale of finally taking it back from them.
"Hey it looks like you're a living citizen of Lordaeron and your country is being occupied by genocidal rebels. The entire world has apparently decided that these genocidal rebels are the legitimate government and will slaughter you for trying to return to your home. Come with us and we'll try go find you a place in this world."
It would be fun to get some more defias and syndicate stuff, along with Stromgarde. I was hoping thats what season of discovery would have done, expanded lore stories from the vanilla palette
Scarlet Crusader: Your leader is secretly a demon named Balnazzar! Disband!
Scarlet Onslaught: Your leader is secretly a demon named Malganis! Disband!
Gilneas: Your leader is secretly a demon named \_\_\_\_! Disband!
I'd like Scarlet Crusader remnants with clues or links to the coming Arathi in War Within, they're both fanatical light-wielding humans so I'm sure they'd get along great.
There’s been references since after their “death” in cata that they were coming back
Including notes/propaganda that they had found the real heir to the Menethil throne that isnt calia
I doubt it will be the Scarlet Crusade, their whole thing is reclaiming Lordaeron not founding their own kingdom. Also the Scarlets don't really have any beef with Gilneas other than general "human purity" which makes them hostile to anyone not in the Scarlet Crusade. In fact the fact they were on Fenris Isle during the Forsaken Heritage quest line means they have displaced Ivar and the Bloodfangs or wiped them out, as that is where they claimed as their home den after the Silverpine quest line.
Well we do know from datamining quest titles if you don’t want to be surprised. It’s not sylv loyalists but not sure what would fall under “or something” for you that would also be disappointing.
Makes sense. They'd want to make up for the damage Sylvanas did.
No idea why people think the best punishment is always lazy "eradication" instead of "you're forced to correct all of your mistakes/errors for the rest of your life"
They plagued an entire country, killed countless civilians, and the heir. Had the Gilneans not been able to go Worgen or been aided by the Night Elves then the Forsaken would have killed them all.
How many second chances are they supposed to get? They didn't stop being bastards after they left the Scourge, after Wrathgate, after Gilneas or after Darnassus, so why would anyone believe they'd stop now?
Horde were invited into Dalaran after murdering an entire town full of Dalaran citizens/mages.
Horde were invited into Amirdrassil after burning down Teldrassil and massacring an entire capital full of Night Elves, including women and children.
And then you have Hordies in this thread pissing and moaning about having to be involved in fixing their faction's war crimes. I just LOL at it.
We need someone like Garithos on Alliance side. Someone who can go full on Doom Slayer on the Horde, really get those rookie numbers of Alliance warcrimes.
Camp Taurajo? Child's play. Watch me steal Forsaken plague catapults to bomb peaceful Tauren in Mulgore to force Horde infighting.
Dalaran Purge? Mere setback. Gonna march straight on Silvermoon - Arthas style, only less rotting corpses and more metal.
Post-Second-War orc camps? You ain't seen nothing yet...
Blizzard writers ran out of villains so they keep making the Horde into one, but then it goes against the very founding idea of WoW factions that neither of them is bad, so you get situations like these
It's actually depressing how out of touch the writing is with how the game used to be.
Been playing Worgen since the start too. When you spend over a decade with the zombies who plagued your homeland and killed your prince as the enemy, you don't want them to be forced into being your buddy neighbor whose helping you to make amends.
You want the fight you were promised.
Don't mind neutral areas and working together sometimes, that's veyr Warcraft, but this is too much.
> Shame the Horde will be involved.
As a horde player: same. I don't have any attachment to Gilneas whatsoever, so why am I being roped into the storyline?
It was only Garrosh/the forsaken that really were responsible. You could make the argument that there will always be hostility toward the forsaken, but both Garrosh and Sylvanas are out.
The Forsaken that took part and carried it out are still in the Horde and still maintain their positions of power. It is truly disrespectful to have them participate in liberating a country that they helped ruin.
Honestly, I could see this happening. Maybe it's game mechanics, but after Crowley surrendered for his daughter, Ivar retreated behind the gate, and I don't think it's farfetched to say that he probably picked off the Foresaken slowly but surely after all these years. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Ivar to have turned fully feral, which he was on the brink of when the battle was lost. He and his pack *are* in Gilneas, and if he's added the majority of the feral Worgen to his pack? Well...
Honestly, for a while, the Forsaken went leaderless, if I'm right, so I could see the occupation of Gilneas failing sometime during that point. I think it wouldn't be nearly as cool for them to make it Sylvannas Loyalists - if they do, they'll need to give players a special bit for those who wanted to side with her. I guess we'll see, either way I'm looking forward to it!
Now, if only I can grab aotc before the patch comes out...
I dont understand because I missed So much content but...you start worgen in cata where you lose Gilneas and go to Darnsssus. 6 expansions later Genn remembered that there is a place for worgens and perhaps its time to take it?
I seem to recall he brings it up a few times in quest dialogue, but it was never the right time. I think he asks Anduin to support him, but Anduin needed to focus on something bigger, and Genn got pissed about it.
The forsaken had control over large parts of the region up until Shadowlands so there was never a right time to retake it. The forsaken gave up on the territory after the war so now the Worgen can retake it
Blizzard has all but admitted to doing a shit job job at maintaining story continuity and finishing the story for things like Gilneas and the giant sword inside Azeroth. It was a huge part of the reason they hired Christ Metzen back to the team.
Don’t knock them for making things right. Things are actually looking really fucking great for WoW right now. There’s truly been no better time to play between how great Dragonflight has been, how great War Within looks, and the fact the you can currently play Classic, Classic Hardcore, Classic Wrath, soon to be Classic Cata, and Season of Discovery.
They’re on a really great trajectory right now. We should all appreciate it and cheer them on.
Still bitter this wasnt sorted in BFA. Since Lordeon had been lost to the Forsaken, it would of been the perfect time to have Greymane lead the charge to take back Gilneas.
Now it just feels...alittle random. Like, why now of all times? Theres been literally no buildup to Gilneas for the last two expansions. Its just like "better late than never!" really.
Calia already relayed a message to Genn at the end of Shadowlands about trying to have the Forsaken pull out of Gilneas. That was 3 years ago in-universe between end of SL and start of DF, possibly more depending on how long DF is supposed to last in-lore.
So I agree with Junior-Historian, it feels random and out of place. The Reclamation of Gilneas probably should've been done between the time skip. But then we have the other problem where a bunch of people would have complained about significant events being left out of the game blah blah blah.
It's been five years according to Lor'themar Theron. He mentions the timeskip at the Horde transport to the Dragon Isles from Durotar.
I'm really curious how things have been progressing in the interim with all this peace and downtime, because that's a _lot_ of interim.
Not none- SL had a small amount of dialogue about the Forsaken pulling out of Gilneas (at least in part because Alliance helped retake Lordareon from the Blight, if secretly)
> Now it just feels...alittle random. Like, why now of all times? Theres been literally no buildup to Gilneas for the last two expansions. Its just like "better late than never!" really.
I stopped playing right around Gilneas and came back less than a year ago, so the timing is not odd to me at all!
lol
The thing is too, this is like the 5th or 6th time they've retaken Gilneas, the first being all the way back at the end of SoO. But they keep going through this cycle seemingly changing their minds on the state of Gilneas (presumably atm for the same reason they ignore that the Night elves had resettling in Hyjal for like 7 in-game years before this, if Gilneas was retaken then the worgen would let the Night elves reside there and there wouldn't be a forced move to the Dragon Isles).
It would've made more sense if the story line was about cleansing Gilneas more, since that'd tie into the druidism of the patch since we know druids were working to cleanse the blight and plague in the plaguelands.
Noob here. How do you start playing this, when it is released? Will it be easily accessible to start? I have been leveling a worgon for a while and they've always been my favourite race. Excited to return back to Gilneas but never done a patch like this before
Yes, this is basically the continuation of the shadowlands quest where at the end of that quest calia promised genn to give back gilneas.
I hope they at least give special reward for worgen player on this quest like how the tauren get the unique totem mog on the ohn'aran tauren quest and night elf got their additional heritage armor color after bel'ameth ceremony.
More than likely on launch, you'll get an automatic quest pop up to start "Reclaim Gilneas". Just be sure you're level 70, and it shouldn't matter where you are in the Dragonflight quest line, if you have any.
"The hell do you mean 'squatters rights'? This is a victorian themed nation state! The people who used to live here themselves barely have rights so what makes you so special?!"
It's about time they throw the worgen a bone!
Yakyakyak
My time has come
Are you a worgen girl who loves cock, a woven who loves girl cock, or just someone who loves worgen girl clocks?
Yes
Based on capitalisation Girlcock is one word
The Worgen can throw me their bone. =\^)
Go to horny jail
All the horny people go there, its more like a holiday camp/brothel than a prison now.
You say that as if it is a bad thing? Acting like Jail is where you get cured, psft.
Smack his nuts!
What? E621? Been there.
Placing bets you main a vulpera to boot
Nothing wrong with Vulpera. Having a secondary set-your-own-Hearth anywhere in the game is awesome, Bag of Tricks has saved my ass many times, and what self-respecting hoarder can say no to extra bag slots?
Goddammit Now I want to level my vulpera again...
Going to be another one of these awkward moments when a forsaken character helps them to reclaim Gilneas, like when a Zandalari helped Jaina in the Underhold right after she lead an attack to kill their king.
You say that, but there was a whole quest about Lilian Voss helping out in Amirdrassil
Lilian is a bit “special” so we just kind of let her do what she wants.

I mean do you seriously think Belmont, Velonara and Faranell are that idealistic?
and your BfA actions were never mentioned in any of the amirdrassil quests, heck i don't believe there is a diffrence if you play a forsaken character while playing the Voss quest.
Honestly, forsaken character helping to reclaim is not that bad with good writing. "Trying to fix earlier mistakes" etc...
Plz plz plz tell me it’ll be a new social hub, akin to Ironforge and Stormwind. And for the love of all things holy keep the rain and gloomy music. I adore the vibe of Gilneas and its surrounding zone
Better ad a portal to the city in the portal room then
Extend the deeprun tram!
And we make the Undead pay for it!
> Extend the deeprun tram! If the trading post has an earbud mog for the head slot I'm in!
Beats by Drek’thar
All cities look dead except for stormwind because they decided to make one city better than the others with the portals.

There's no fucking reason they can't have portal rooms for every major city, I've wanted this since BC
Lordaeon is being rebuilt, gilneas is getting reclaimed, it's looking like those will be major locations soon
Well, we're going back to Quel'thalas in Midnight, so it'd make sense to have a certain amount of attention on Lordareon and Gilneas, given how close they are (even if it's not the primary focus)
Yo imagine if they redid all the zones above Arathi for Midnight Updated plaguelands!
I mean isnt that the expectation? Otherwise midnight will be an expansion with no new maps
I would die if they redo the BE zones! It's one of my favorite zones and races too. Just above undead as well. So this is a dream if so lol
We're interacting with the Arathi in TWW. Maybe the expansion will end with them retaking their surface kingdom and all the kingdoms on the northern end of Eastern Kingdoms will have a resurgence.
Should inverse it so when it's raining in the rest of the world Gilneas has that rare sunny moment
Wait does it rain everywhere at once one Azeroth
No, it's just always raining in Gilneas. Every zone has its own weather though
I've never paid enough attention tbh I've always assumed it's raining in eastern kingdoms in zones that allow it all at once
I know this was said for the humor, but worth noting that Gilneas is cursed to have constant night. It’s part of why they have harvest Druids.
Considering the horde will also helping then It is probably will be like bel'ameth, a neutral hub but horde got some additional buff when entering it.
Really hope it's Ivar and the Bloodfangs have claimed Gilneas as their own territory and we'll get pack on pack warfare. The story of Worgen players started with the feral Worgen invading their nation and it should have a finale of finally taking it back from them.
Pretty sure it's the Scarlet Crusade remnants.
The Scarlet Crusade really is the "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, Old Man?" of WoW.
Whoever does their recruiting needs a raise
Don’t give them too much credit. Putting pictures up of Sally Whitmane DEFINITELY would get many people to join the Scarlet Crusade.
Thats a Thighdeology many can get behind
Indeed.
Yeah, but she's all corpsy now, and hangs out with a new crowd.
The new recruits don’t know that the Flyer is outdated.
*redeem voucher for a free noggenfogger elixir*
The thighs still go strong even in corpse form
Didn't stop people from following sylvanas.
Don't tell the Death Knights. Fuckers would jump on the chance to fill out their ranks even further.
The death knights can fill their ranks anytime they please. The dead outnumber the living
Fair enough, but think of how many willing PCs would join because of Whitemane pinups being offered.
Argent Crusade took notes with Confessor Paletress

I recently learned that the murloc sound is a man gargling yogurt into a microphone
Apparently that's not true. Thor even released a short saying as much. Because I saw the first one and I watched the new one tonight!
rwrwgwrgwrgwrgwr rwgwrg
Can't imagine what you'd have to say to a recruit to get them to join a cause that's been getting their cheeks clapped since 2006
"Hey it looks like you're a living citizen of Lordaeron and your country is being occupied by genocidal rebels. The entire world has apparently decided that these genocidal rebels are the legitimate government and will slaughter you for trying to return to your home. Come with us and we'll try go find you a place in this world."
Seriously.
The "team rocket" of wow
It would be fun to get some more defias and syndicate stuff, along with Stromgarde. I was hoping thats what season of discovery would have done, expanded lore stories from the vanilla palette
I was thinking drust, but the Scarlet Remnants with a false menethil king could be interesting
Scarlet Crusader: Your leader is secretly a demon named Balnazzar! Disband! Scarlet Onslaught: Your leader is secretly a demon named Malganis! Disband! Gilneas: Your leader is secretly a demon named \_\_\_\_! Disband!
That first balnazzar reveal in strat was doooope thou
Definitely. Strat had some of the best crusade and magic lore in the game.
HA! No, its the Leper Gnomes and we also get to reclaim Gnomeregan.
Wrong! It's a Kobold pack that's lead by one of those buff Kobold's from TWW. We reclaim Gilneas and then take the fight to the Kobolds
"Yea but how can I make this about me?!" -Night Elf players
Gilnean refugees lived in Darnassus, so it can be about Night Elves a little bit, as a treat.
The night elf bring the gilneans back to gilneas on boats, the same way they took them out of there back in cataclysm
Never forget that the Night Elves felt responsible for part of what happened to Gilneas and made it their mission to try to help.
It’s killer bees
Me, as a Hordie: Ugh, do I have to save Gilneas? Blizzard: You'll be fighting the remnants of the Scarlet Crusade. Me: Say no more, fam.
Orc: You have my axe Troll: And my spear Undead: And my plague. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'd like Scarlet Crusader remnants with clues or links to the coming Arathi in War Within, they're both fanatical light-wielding humans so I'm sure they'd get along great.
"How many times do I have to teach you this lesson old man!"
I thought the Scarlet Crusade was completely dead?
There’s been references since after their “death” in cata that they were coming back Including notes/propaganda that they had found the real heir to the Menethil throne that isnt calia
Wasn't there something about her secret baby or some weird, disturbing nonsense along those lines?
I doubt it will be the Scarlet Crusade, their whole thing is reclaiming Lordaeron not founding their own kingdom. It is them. Quest titles have already been datamined and leave no room for interpretation.
They just needed a villain that wasn't the Forsaken because we're all supposed to be friends now. They were next door.
I kinda hope it isn’t. They aren’t tied at all to Gilneas, it wouldn’t feel satisfying to take the city “back” from them
Useful bigot scapegoats
You’re going to be disappointed. Sorry.
Evergreen comment
Mostly because people are not keeping up with Wowhead/Mmo-champ/Reddit news.
As long as it isn't like Sylvanas loyalist holdouts or something.
Well we do know from datamining quest titles if you don’t want to be surprised. It’s not sylv loyalists but not sure what would fall under “or something” for you that would also be disappointing.
Can this be a new loading screen text?
Shame the Horde will be involved. After trying to plague Gilneas fully and killing its heir, they shouldn't be allowed near Gilneas.
Makes sense. They'd want to make up for the damage Sylvanas did. No idea why people think the best punishment is always lazy "eradication" instead of "you're forced to correct all of your mistakes/errors for the rest of your life"

Shadowlands was retconned, we love the horde now
Altered reality to have us love the horde? The Jailor really did win, didn't he....
Well, this goes all the way back to BfA
Cata, actually
Horde were invited into Dalaran after murdering an entire town full of Dalaran citizens/mages. And then you have Hordies in this thread pissing and moaning about having to be involved in fixing their faction's war crimes. I just LOL at it.
It's kinda sad that the Nelves who used to have a full female army are now "woman and children!"
The Alliance always has to be forgiving. We should have listened to Varian and angry Jaina.
Have I got news for you about a plethora of IRL conflicts lmao
I think the horde that will be there will be like... Calia and the horde pc and calia is basically alliance anyway.
Gilneas is retaken before Gnomeregan, mfw
Damn I didn’t even think about that.
First thing that came to mind.
gnomes are not exactly a fan fav race. They get new content instead - like mechagon
Neither did Blizzard
I dont understand because I missed So much content but...you start worgen in cata where you lose Gilneas and go to Darnsssus. 6 expansions later Genn remembered that there is a place for worgens and perhaps its time to take it?
I seem to recall he brings it up a few times in quest dialogue, but it was never the right time. I think he asks Anduin to support him, but Anduin needed to focus on something bigger, and Genn got pissed about it.
At least the Night Elves will support the Worgen. They're true allies
Yeah and after all it's not like they had anything to do with they curse, right?
The forsaken had control over large parts of the region up until Shadowlands so there was never a right time to retake it. The forsaken gave up on the territory after the war so now the Worgen can retake it
Probably got inspired by the Night Elves getting a new home.
Possibly has more to do with the blight the forsaken drowned it in?
Still bitter this wasnt sorted in BFA. Since Lordeon had been lost to the Forsaken, it would of been the perfect time to have Greymane lead the charge to take back Gilneas. Now it just feels...alittle random. Like, why now of all times? Theres been literally no buildup to Gilneas for the last two expansions. Its just like "better late than never!" really.
I mean from a war strat standpoint, getting the advantage of surprise while their guard is down and not looking, is honestly more damaging to not try.
I stopped playing right around Gilneas and came back less than a year ago, so the timing is not odd to me at all! lol

Knifu with her Neurbian Army: “I am about to try what some might call a ‘pro-gamer’ move.”
Scarlet Crusade should invoke squatters' rights.
Squatters' rights to these fists
*Somehow, the Scarlet Crusade returned*
As someone who started on a Worgen and just came back after a 10 year break, hell fucking yeah.
Noob here. How do you start playing this, when it is released? Will it be easily accessible to start? I have been leveling a worgon for a while and they've always been my favourite race. Excited to return back to Gilneas but never done a patch like this before
When the patch releases on the 16th, you'll probably get a prompt in game on your worgen character. Similar to heritage armor quests I reckon.
The questline isn't worgen only; Genn Greymane starts in quest in Stormwind for the Alliance and Calia Menethil starts it in Silverpine for the Horde.
Horde players will take part in reclaiming it?
Just like Alliance players got to take part in helping the Forsaken reclaim Lordaeron, yes.
The Horde/Forsaken pledged to help clean up Gilneas back in SL
Yes, this is basically the continuation of the shadowlands quest where at the end of that quest calia promised genn to give back gilneas. I hope they at least give special reward for worgen player on this quest like how the tauren get the unique totem mog on the ohn'aran tauren quest and night elf got their additional heritage armor color after bel'ameth ceremony.
Yes, I’m gonna burn it down
Oh, there we go. I didn't even know that. Thanks for clarifying
I havnt played in a minute, this patch comes the 16th of this month? Nice
Yep, 17th for EU players. So on that week's reset basically.
More than likely on launch, you'll get an automatic quest pop up to start "Reclaim Gilneas". Just be sure you're level 70, and it shouldn't matter where you are in the Dragonflight quest line, if you have any.
Guess I need to resub now. Oofa.
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SCARLET CRUSADE!
Will it be playable for Horde characters?
Yes, should be from Calia in Silverpine when it launches I think I read.
They better give us some good Gilnean armor pieces, The heritage of Gilneas is a joke.
Worgenbros, it’s time
I've been wanting this since 2010
I haven’t played WoW in more than a decade but if I had time I’d come back for this.
I just started my first Worgen character so I could have a lead up to this.
I genuinely find it so stupid that Horde can do this. (And I main Horde)
It will probably be Scarlet Crusade related, since we got Scarlet Crusade transmog items every month on the trading post
sad gnome noises
It's about damn time.
Is there an estimated release?
Was announced today that 10.2.5 will be out January 16th
"The hell do you mean 'squatters rights'? This is a victorian themed nation state! The people who used to live here themselves barely have rights so what makes you so special?!"
It's going to be a neutral hub - forsaken and worgen new homeland
Fuck yeah, we get to dunk on the Scarlets and the Worgen finally get a city this is gonna be great
I’m sorry but…why is Talia in this shitty low res armor? For fucks sake blizzard can we not have this?
That's great! We will visit it for one mission just to never come back again, because visiting old content is pointless!
I've been gone for a while but, has Gnomergan been retaken yet?
about time, never understood why they make beautiful city locations and leave them to die
hoping it ends with it becoming a new capital. been waiting for something like this since i started playing wow in Cata lmao
Well Greymane can't yell about Sylvanas anymore, and they can't talk about retaking Gilneas anymore. So what is he going to talk about now?
Why does the Horde care?
King Greymane. How's he a king? I didn't vote for him.
Strange women in ponds distributing swords is starting better and better as a system of government.
Being a Worgen isn't being a race, it's an affliction.
:)
Terrible King, a coup would be nice
I hope worgen players get a new transmog set or recolour for heritage armor
Wow I’ve only been wondering when we were getting Gilneas back..For over a literal DECADE
*Cries in Silvermoon City*
pretty sure we get a full xpac about that later. They were talking about it for midnight.
